Quote  |  Reply

Hi! Im new to this site ( and love it!) so sorry of i ask something that has already been discussed  :)

I have already lost a good deal of weight, 40 pounds!, and yesterday i was 238. This morning i weighed in at 240!!!!!! Now, i have NEVER gained weight while dieting. And i have been pretty strict about what i eat.

Is this water gain, or what!? Has your scale ever gone up while dieting?!

All the time! My biggest daily 'gain' was 9lbs!!! It was after a wedding (lots of alcohol involved!) and tooks  a few days to come off. Usually my 'gains' come if I haven't eaten enough (weird I know?), if I've eaten a lot of veg or had a meal out (retaining fluid) or if my period is due in the next week or so. HTH?

Too often!  But within a couple of days it is gone.  I think for me it is extra salt and water retention.  Hang in there, sounds like you are off to a great start with the weight you have already lost.

Thanks! Its nice to know this is pretty common haha. Its just so frustrating!

hello becc

I have the ups and downs too if I eat my meals Im good but if I miss one the weigh gos up so eat 3 to 4 times a day

betty

I always go up and down each day.  this is why I average my daily weights and only count the offical averages weekly.  If it is my time of the month I will be up about 5 lbs yet I haven't eaten anything different.  Also I gain muscle very easily and my strength training days I am usually heavier than my cardio days but again weekly it evens out to be lower as long as I have been faithful to my plan.

I HATE this too!  Yesterday I was at 202 now I'm at 213!  I couldn't believe it!  Gotta be water retention.  UGH!
