Really scared...

Hi,

I'm 15 years old, 5'3.5 - 5'4, and recovering from mild anorexia where i was around 100 pounds.

I've been "recovered" for a few months now. i still count calories, but i eat really normal meals and snacks, and am really comfortable with my body!

Im so mad at myself though. When i left treatment for my ED, my parents took me home and weighed me on our scale. I waterloaded. The scale said i was 115 lbs, but really im only 113 lbs. My parents told me just to maintain my weight. i dont think its so much the number for them (or me really), as it is that im able to MAINTAIN it, and i dont lose any weight.

Anyway, i was forced to water load every morning before they weighed me. My weight has been really stable, but i know its 2 pounds higher than my dry weight truly is.

i want to tell my parents what ive been doing, but im so scared. i cant keep water loading forever. Do you think i should say something so i dont have to worry about water loading anymore? or should i just keep doing it... ahhh!!

Just so you know im eating, this is what i had yesterday:

breakfast- scrambeled ham and cheese on a seseme seed bagel, 1/2 a cantaloupe melon

lunch- large baked potato with sour cream, asparagus, blueberry yogurt with crumbeled cereal

Snack- "vitatop", bag of popcorn

Dinner- Hamburger helper and carrots, roll, 2 interesting cookies i made

Snacks- yogurt, cookie....graham crackers, banana

(i know i eat a lot:) i did run 3 miles and swim 2.5 miles though)

Thanks so much!

First of all, you really are not eating a lot.  Sounds like less than what I eat anyway unless I guess they are all really large portions.  Anyway, in answer to your question.  I would definately tell them that the weights have kind of been forced and that realistically you weigh less.  That way you can be honest and not have to force it anymore.  Obviously I don't know your parents, but I would hope they would understand.  Good luck!

As you said it yourself it's more important for them that you are eating healthy, and not the weight it self. So no harm in telling them. Also if they do want to rely on weightins they should look at a trend, and use tools that do rolling averages. I like Physicsdiet.com tool.
