I have been having some stomach pain for a week now. Most of the time I want to throw up. I feel so bloated. My period should come in 5 days. I am just really scared because I got off birth control. My bf and I just used condom. We are really careful. Would you share with me do you feel like that during your first month of pregnancy? Or Do I just really have stomach pain...
I bought the home pregnancy test just in case if my period doesn't come in five days...
Reason: Locked topic. OP likely has an answer by now.
Until your period is "officially" late, you have no reason to believe you're pregnant. Don't get me wrong, it's possible as no birth control is 100% effective, but if you did use some kind of protection, you were careful and your period isn't even due for 5 days, there really is no reason to worry.
There's any number of reasons to have stomach pain and bloating that have nothing to do with pregnancy. Heck, your described symptoms sound like a classic case of PMS. However, I should note that it's not even remotely possible for people on a message board to diagnose anything, no matter how much information you post.
My advice is to calm down, take a deep breath and some motrin, and don't worry until there's acutally something to worry about.
And to answer the other question: During the first month of pregnancy, women have many different symptoms depending on how their bodies react to hormonal changes. I personally did not get cramps, or nasea, or bloating until near the end of my 2nd month in both pregnancies.
I get horrid menstrual-type pain ALL the time...mine's because of cysts. You could have pain because your about to have your period, because you have a food allergy to something that you have been eating lately, because you're getting the flu, because you're anxious you may be pregnant because you just went off the pill...lots of reasons. Being on the BC pill actually decreases cramping for lots of women, so you may be getting worse symptoms of PMS because you are no longer on the pill. I wouldn't spend too much energy being scared until your period is late.
The implantation has similar symtoms to that of getting your period. FYI...
There is no way you would be experiencing any symptoms of pregnancy 5 days before your regular period. If an egg were fertilized, it will have only just implanted (which may feel like a tiny cramp with a minimal amount of spotting). You will not have had enough time to generate sufficient amounts of the hormones that cause the discomfort during pregnancy. Perhaps anxiety could be a factor in how you are feeling...
Someone who can relate to me finally. Well for me Im avoiding this thing called "sex" for a while I figured out it's way too stressful. Im not on birth control and last time I did was August with a condom but I still feel pregnant even though I took 8 ( - ) Tests, Maybe its because im realllyyy anxious-I hope. Anyways I have to admit I hate sex and I regret it and its stressful but Im pretty sure you arent because Im the only one who has bad luck =)
i had belly pains when i got off bc pills. it could be tht

There's no way to know this with the information the OP provided. We have no idea how long her cycle is, when she discontinued birth control pills or when she had sex using a condom. If she has a rather long cycle, she could very well be experiencing pregnancy symptoms already.
That being said, if this is your first period after discontinuing birth control, you're probably experiencing worse-than-normal PMS. One of the benefits of BCPs are the lessening of menstrual and pre-menstrual symptoms. I used to have horrible PMS and cramps during my period until I started taking the pill and then they just disappeared.
There are some pregnancy tests that can (not 100% accurately) detect a pregnancy 5 days before your missed period. When I was pregnant with my second, I got a positive result 4 days before my period was supposed to come (and only 4 weeks after going off birth control). I would certainly recommend waiting to test, though.
Good luck!
Um.....the OP was in December 2008. I'm pretty sure she knows one way or the other by now.
lol! I usually check the dates before posting but rushed this morning!
Gotta love old posts being bumped!

Not true at all, armendj. With my current pregnancy, I pretty much knew I was pregnant at least a week before my missed period. My boobs are never sore, not even as a PMS symptom, so when they started getting sore, I knew I was pregnant.
I tested and got a positive home pregnancy test a good 5 days before my missed period, because I simply couldn't wait any longer to test. I knew I was pregnant and really wanted to test on my birthday, but that was a good 9 days before my missed period (I tested on the 29th of January, my birthday is the 25th).
So it is possible to have symptoms super early in the pregnancy, even practically immediately after implantation.
Over, OP, any of these symptoms you're having could be a result of you going off birth control, and getting your first period without any hormones to alter it in quite a bit. My first period off of BC was a doozy; I had forgotten how much my cramps really sucked and how much I actually bled.
Just a reminder-the OP posted her question in December, 2008. She's probably figured out if she's pregnant or not by now, and she hasn't logged into Calorie Count since January, so I don't think she's reading the responses.
