I had pizza for lunch, looked up pizza in the food database here for my log, pulled up "Pizza pepperoni" and almost fainted! 1446 calories!
For a whole pie. I'd missed that initially!

also, it scares me when the initial measurement for peanut butter comes up with a CUP of PB for something like 1580 cals

I could throw down a half a large hungry howie's pizza EASY as little as 6 months ago. Couldn't even imagine doing it now, though! I must have been off my rocker!

I have and still could pack away a whole large pizza by myself. That is part of the reason I am the way I am. That little scare might be good though, you might remember to look closely on the labes of the foods you eat and make sure how much you really are eating. They could be made to be easier to read, why not list how many cals in a bag of popcorn instead of saying 100 cals per serving, but need to try and find out how many servings per bag, 3! Whao!

Oh man do I miss pizza. I could easily pack away a large NY style, or 3/4 of a thicker breadier style. I kinda miss those days...cause I love pizza. But I do agree with billb, I wish they'd list for the WHOLE bag, cause maybe it would scare some people when they saw how many calories they ate when they gorged on the whole thing. Come now, who except us on there actually eats just ONE serving of anything? To most people, 1 serving of doritos is half a bag.
I used to get Moe's nacho's and I just looked it up... 1500 + calories!!!!
They recently started coming out with "mini-bags" of popcorn in my local market. It's great!!! Really helps keep track calories are 120 for the bag I get.
Tostitos are my downfall.... I could eat a whole bag of lime tostitos (the large kind), and salsa for lunch.... I'm just avoiding tostitos at the moment.

Tell you what, they used to make Tostitos baked salsa & cream cheese in the bite size and I could eat a whole bag of those! I wish they still made them - I would try not to eat the whole bag but no guarantees! :D
I would eat a pizza, homemade, that ran about 2500, once a week.

I am curious. Before when you would eat an entire pizza or a bag of chips or cookie, did you think it was good for you? What was your thinking then and what is different now?
I am curious because I feel like I have always known that stuff is bad for me. Did you know it was bad and did not care or there were other issues that over powered you so much?
I hope that my post did not offend anyone, I am just curious. because a lot of times I walk though the aisle at the grocery store and wonder how people can even think to pick some of that stuff up? Maybe I am just overly educated on these things. (oh...that sounds snobby...you know what I mean though...I hope:/

I quit baking because I am a spoon licker and a dough eater!! I can't stop myself even now!! So, I buy my baked goods until I learn to control myself!! Pizza, can't turn it down but I only eat it about once a month and only three pieces!
DCgirl, i used to eat biscuits and such even though i knew they were bad for me, becuase i was already 'fat' and it didn't matter, or to be honest i didin't think i was fat and it didn't seem to make a differnce to my body shape as i never weighed myself. But i was getting fatter. I got to 11 stone (14 pounds in one stone) and then reasled IT WAS making me fat if i ate 'one last chocolate'
I dont eat it now, becuase of hydronised fats and saturated fats. Since i started losing weight (two years ago) i read up EVERYTHING on food. So much so, i have been told i should be a personal trainer and a nutrationlist... by professnols in those areas!!

I ate what ever I wanted, and didn't care. Has to do with emoitonal eating. Eating made me feel good, so who does not like to do things that make you feel good? I didn't care if it made me fatter, I was already fat, so might as well be a happy fat guy. I could go on and on about this, but it should be another topic.
Some people will just never really understand uless they have been there. Same with smokers. They know it is unhealthy, but why do they do it? I don't know because I am not one.

I'm with han- i was fat, what did it matter? and my body, good or bad for me, doesn't change shape very much (it just changes in proportion to my head, seriously). I?ve always been really active, and I also used to say "muscle weighs more than fat" a lot. It does, but not *that* much more :) So... I never sat down with an entire box of Little Debbie. But I was not averse to the occasional Twinkie. And between the activity and my good metabolism, I?d been used to eating pretty much whatever I wanted- even if that was a half a pizza. That?s how.
Thats a good tip - I just have to find something baked I don't like!! LOL That is my weakness, not chips, not dip not fries...it's baked stuff!! If I could live on bread alone, I would be happy!! :)
We ate pizza at our house so often that the dog knew when pizza was coming just by our actions (I go on the computer, check goes on top of the entertainment center, porch light is turned on). He would start watching the door until it got there. Now we don't order pizza anymore...I half expect to get a card in the mail...they must thing we are sick!

I think people who have never had a problem with food use food as it is intended..as fuel for the body...then there are those of us who get a whole lot more from it, no matter how unhealthy that may have been. Bored? Have something to eat. Feelings hurt? Have something to eat. etc...
