so scared! period help?

Quote  |  Reply

I was away on vacation this past week and I decided I'd delay my period by skipping over the sugar pills (for Yaz) and going straight to taking active pills from the next pack for 3 days. Then, after I got home, I decided it was okay if my period came now, so I stopped taking the active pills and expected my period to come. However, it has been 4 days off the active pills, and it still has not come??? What have I done to my cycle, or is there a good chance I could be pregnant? Someone please help...this is stressing me out sooo much.

you probably have to take your pills like usual.... then WAIT until you're next cycle of sugar pills come up.... you should THEN have your period.

you can't really decide that you want your period when YOU WANT it.

i think if you wait it our until your next 'set' of sugar pills, your period will come.

:)

I did the same thing recently, also with Yaz.  Instead of stopping the pills i finished the month to the sugar pills.  I skipped that cycle and have been fine since.

If your extremely concerned give ur ob a quick call or ur health insurance nurse hotline.

Good Luck

You're supposed to take the whole pack after you skip the sugar pills.

Yes, there is a chance you can get pregnant.

My doctor told me that it's safe to have your period every second month (as in continue on to the next pack instead of taking the sugar pills), you can even have it every 3rd month. Your cycle can take time to adjust though, you've probably just confused your body a bit -the first time I had my period after skipping the sugar pills for 2 months, period was a little late, since then it ha come on the usual day. You probably shouldn't mess with your cycle too much, there isn't really any medically wrong with doing it, but it can stress you out if your period comes late!

The pill isn't 100% effective, so there's always a chance you could be pregnant, but u probably already knew that. Just give it a few more days... if your really worried, see a doctor.

dont stress, when you throw your cycle a little loop it some times throws one back at you. but i feel for you, i had phantom pregnancy symptoms for 3 months. i was so convinced even after i got my period finally.  dont let the stress happen to you, sounds pretty normal to me.

Um, if you have period cramps and no period for a couple of days, take a pregnancy test. Early pregnancy can cause mild period-like cramps.

And the other posters are correct, you can take two packs in a row to delay your period (and finish them both) but you shouldn't just stop a pack in the middle, you might trigger ovulation.
