So I haven't weighed myself in 2 weeks and tomorrow I really should weigh myself but I'm sooooo scared. I've been completely off of my healthy routine and have gone back to my BAD habits and I KNOW I've gained weight. I'm afraid that once I get on the scale and see that it has gone up I'll be discouraged and will just keep eating like an oinker. Ugh.....if I didn't have such short legs I'd kick myself in the butt right now.............
Any advice or positive thoughts?
you probably havent gain much body fat weight. its probably all gonna be water weight. &hey, once your back to your healthy eating habits, the water weight is gonna come off super quick, making you feel like youve lost a TON of weight!
i say weigh yourself tomorrow! :D
I've been right where you are. You say you know you gained weight...before you get on the scale, tell yourself the weight you're expecting to see and chances are the number the scale reads will be less. As you know, no one is more critcal of us than ourselves. I'll bet you haven't gained what you think.
Thank you both (rainforestgirl & peacelovehominy) for your responses. I will think positive and be brave when I get on the scale in the morning. No matter what it says, I am determined to start back on my healthy lifestyle tomorrow. I haven't been drinking water at all so I will also start drinking water too.......

That's a good way to look at it! I will look at it the same way.....a new starting point!
Positive thoughts for you too, for Tuesday.![]()
Hi Deedus,
Water intake is the hardest part of my new lifestyle. Sure, I drink plenty of liquid in the form of coffee and tea, but as dehydrants, they're not optimal. Crystal light makes a good, low-cal additive but alas, it gives me heartburn. A squeeze of lemon seems to help it go down easier too. My problem is that I'm running to the restroom so often. Sorry to get off on a tangent on water, I just wanted to check in now that you've stepped up to the plate (or scale as the case may be) and be a support to you. ![]()
Hi Rainforestgirl,
I have a big problem with water too. I too drink plenty of liquids (coffee and diet soda) but not enough water. I am going to try to get back to that starting today. I love lemons so maybe I'll try that too. Thank you so much for the support.
Well, I got on the scale this morning and was totally shocked. I gained 1.5 lbs which is not bad at all. I hope that will help me get back on track.
Thank you everyone, for your support. It really has helped me.
Diana
WOO Diana!
A 1.5 pound for the holiday season is fantastic, that is, if one MUST gain. I gained the same amount over Christmas and New Years and its already gone.
Yours will be gone soon too, then its onward and downward.
Now go drink a glass of water - ha ha. I will too. ![]()
I have this saying that is much more positive when it comes to losing weight (instead of life in general); What goes up, must go down again....
Remember that life is full of ups and downs. Some days you feel wonderful and other days are a bit blah. Some days you feel like you can take on the world and there are also some when you think: where's Superman when you need 'm?
The same with your weight.... know that there are two weeks in the year when you probably go up a little (or a bit depending on how much fun you had). The other 50 you can lose them again. What goes up, will go down again.
Hang in there, kick that scale, look at it and think: aaah that'll go down again ;-)

Hey deedus,
Looks like you are feeling encouraged so that's good. I guess what I would add is that no matter how scared you are in the future to step on the scale, you must know that accepting reality is the first step to really making change happen. I know that I personally have just hoped that if I stick with being in denial about my weight gain then the weight will magically go away on it's own. Well, I can testify that that doesn't work. Keep up the good work.
They say that drinking diet soda is really a bad idea as far as retaining fluid, etc. making one feel puffy (belly, face, hands, etc.) Whether that is a medical fact or dependant on the individual, I know in my case, it is SO true. Haven't had a diet Dr. Pepper in almost a week and, I swear, I can tell the difference.
Good luck to all ..
Sue
