Scared to try on new clothes????
Okay, so I have recently lost 36 pounds. I am stil wering the same clothes I wore when I was larger. I cannot bring my self to go shopping ofr new clothes. I fear that I will be disappointed. All of my clothes are huge and Iwoudln't even know where to start. I am going to post my stats below. If you are a similar height and weight please tell me what size you wear......... oh and any ideas on how to get over my shopping fear?
Age: 22
Height:5'8
Weight: 145-147 (fluctuates)
Shape: Not butt, no hips, big boobs (apple shaped I gues)
Thanks Guys!
There is no way that you will be disappointed with new clothes, if all your old clothes are baggy then you look bigger than you are NOW. You'll look fabulous in some new diggs. I wouldn't worry about the size you end up getting. Who cares they fluctuate from store to store and are meaningless.
The best thing that you can do, is to go into a store that has really good customer service. I work part time in retail, and the rule at my store is that when a customer goes into a fitting room with jeans, she doesnt have to come out even once. I go back and forth for the customer Im working with grabbing the next size up or down, short longer, or different styles based on what she wants. The worst part about trying on new jeans is the proccess of your-pants-off-new-pants-on-pants-off-your-pa nts-on-then going in and out trying to find other sizes. If you dont know of any stores in your area that could provide that type of service, enlist a good friend of yours to help you out! It could be really fun for the two of you!
PS- I am 20 years old, 5'8, 135lbs and wear between a 2 and a 4 right now. So maybe start at a 6? That totally depends on what store youre going to do your shopping though, which is also frustrating. I wear a 4 in some brands, a 2 for others.
Even one dress size down makes a HUGE difference, so if you have lost 36lbs you have dropped several dress sizes. Go the mall and try on every cute thing you've ever wanted to wear. If I wear my bigger clothes I just feel big and everything does sort of fit but I hate the way I look in them so why wear it?
Agree with inkblue. You will feel and look so much smaller in clothes that fit you correctly. My old jeans aren't falling off or anything, but they're so shapeless that it's hard to tell what size I am under all that fabric.
I'm 5'8". When I was about your weight I wore a a 4 or 6. I was more bottom heavy though, so I bet you'll be a 2-4 on bottom and 4-6 on top.
Have fun! I'll see you at the store in about 8 months when I'm back to my old size!
