Ok here comes the weird part, last night as a was looking at my upper body in the mirror I noticed that I am able to see pretty much ALL my veins. I mean all of then the entire pulmonary system under my skin. THIS IS SO CREEPY. What does this mean? I?m scared?help

unless you're in pain or anything.. it might just mean your veins are close to your skin.. i have some wicked nasty veins running close to the skin on my left shoulder. it's not a big deal

but if you've never noticed it before.. go talk to a doctor.. :)
Wow, Im not sure but maybe you should see a doctor.. Are you very fair skinned?  Maybe that could be why?
No not really. I've never had that before. I lost some weight in my mid section do you think that is why?
it probably is.. but if you've been that weight or lower before and never noticed it.. i would  talk to a doctor.. :)
I'm the same way. I could see little veins of my face and some before i lost weight. Now i have lost almost 50 and by my collarbone and upper chest they are very noticable. I think some ppl's veins are just closer to the skin then others. But if u are worried then like everyone else has said ask your DR.
My veins are miserable...especially the older I get and I am only 28.  Sometimes they also show with increased blood flow which would be a good thing.
Hey,

This is funny because this is something I have noticed alot myself since losing weight. I see so many now on my legs and feet and it can be a bit creepy! If it does really bother you, then definitely go to the doctor but I do tihnk it is less padding over them now! LOL!
Something interesting that I was thinking about.  When you are overweight, your body has lots of veins to keep pumping the blood through out your body right?  Well when you loose the weight, we know your fat cells shrink, but what happens to the extra veins.  Could it be the extra veins get pushed up close to the surface?  Ok, now I have to go check this out.  I am just a curious person.  Thank God for the internet or I would be living at the library :)

Just some (low-cal) food for thought.
wow it's so intresting to see that so many other people have experianced the same thing.
I've always had lots of veins visible through my skin, but it has become more pronounced and more noticable, especially in my legs, since losing the last 10 lbs.  It's kinda funky, like on this one episode of Star Trek: TNG where Geordi was made into one of these alien creatures with blue skin and sticky-outy glowing veins...  ;)
It is good to know that I am not weird.....I have a weight loss of over 66 lbs since Jan. of this year.  Veins are popping up in my chest area!!!  It looks a little weird to me...but it is normal.
My veins have started popping out a lot, too.  I don't know how much exercise you do, but sometimes an increased stroke rate from your heart will make them pop out a bit (which isn't a bad thing necessarily).  Now for the past month, I have been on creatine and you want to talk about veins REALLY popping out...check out my arm.  Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  If you are really worried about it, just get your blood pressure checked and make sure you aren't high or anything.  Don't want ya killing over!

Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?

In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
