when will you go? what is your plan? does making the plan before hand help you stick to it?  how did it go?

(meant to be a forum for motivation)

Not sure if you're referring to working out, or in general; but since I'm here ...

I just got back (from my basement), where I planned, and did, 10 rounds of Bas Rutten's "all around fighting" CD  on the heavy bag after some great stretching,  shadow boxing, push ups and crunches ... Wouldn't have gone without a plan, and it was FANTASTIC!!!YellLaughing  Now I'm counting for the day and having my bedtime snack: Met-Rx extreme chocolate with orange flavored Metamucil ...  May sound strange but it's a great boost of protien and vitamins with a dose of heart healthy fiber and taaaasty ...

My next workout will be Wed night in class - I can't wait!

don't know what happened to the plan i posted for myself... maybe i never got around to it... but you pretty much got what i meant.  i love to compare myself to what others are doing, and get ideas from them, and i think that stating my plans before hand gives me something to be accountable for.  i did go to the adult practice tonight, stayed for an hour and didn't get reinjured, but also wasnt' able to do much.  one armed judo? not so effective.  oh well.  i spent quite a bit of time practicing using my legs for defense...which was pretty good for me.  it was a real disadvantage to not have the arm available for chokes or armbars, but i put up a good fight anyway.  i practiced by my self during the free fighting protions... and left when i found i couldnt work on the throw they were doing.  just felt too risky.

so, tomorrow, gym right after work, Wednesday gym with Deb, and Thursday i will take M to the kids class and see how much i can do there.  maybe gym again on Friday.  we'll see.  if hubbie is home, i will go to judo Saturday.  there is my plan (again) and i am sticking to it

enjoy wednesday jeff :)

My plan varies from week to week.  I leave double classes in my schedule knowing that I can cancel one if I feel like it or need the time for something else that's come up.

For the rest of this week. I'll go to my T/Th class 1.5 hours each, the M evening class for an hour and the Friday morning class for an hour, also there's a Saturday judo class that I want to go to, but I don't think I can handle 3 straight hours of judo so I'll start with the warmup and see where I go from there.

what is it with judo and wanting to do 2-4 hour classes?  it seems a bit unreasonable sometimes.  do other arts structure their training like this?

i was too tired to move Thursday, so it didn't take my daughter a lot of work to convince me cuddling up with some books on the couch was a reasonable replacement for going to judo.  the trade off is we both agreed that by skipping Thursday, i would go Saturday and daddy could take her to gymnastics, and we would both go Tuesday AND Thursday next week.  trouble is, the exhausted from work isn't likely to go away.  it is likely to get worse.  i am looking down the throat of 3 months of absolute frantic work, managing an entire campaign with 24 people reporting to me directly ( have i ever mentioned i HATE being in a managerial role?) plus trying to convince my bosses to promote me by doing 2 jobs at once (aside from aforementioned campaign)  i keep telling myself that if i organize well enough it will be fine.  and it is organized... but i am tired.  whoa.  forgot where i was writing.

the actual point.  i was to tired to stick to my plan.  i have a new plan for next week, but am not hopeful about having the energy to stick with that one either.  if anyone has any ideas for me about how to balance this better... I want them!

so much for this helping me with my comittments to work out... saturday hubbie worked so i had to take the girl to gymnastics and forgo my sat morning judo.  Lastnight an intro to girlscouts meeting got in the way, so i skipped again.  TONIGHT i will go.  i have to bring a dessert to potluck at work tomorow, but hubbie is sympathizing with me, and has promised to make a dessert for me while M and i are at judo, Gym wednesday with D, Judo thursday with M, possibly a lunch time gym trip friday, then trickortreating, saturday i HOPE i can go to judo... and then we'll see about next week.  so, see! my week isn't wrecked yet! i can still get to practice, have a good time andsweat buckets.  i can i can :)

I've reworked my schedule too...the week I posted, I used EVERY excuse in the book and only went twice and then half assed.  Frown

The new plan...Monday/Wednesday 6:30-7:30, Tuesday/Thursday 6-7:30 and 5-6 if I have the time, plus hanging around for judo for at least a bit.  MWF I'm doing a weight lifting workout so I don't want to do the morning classes.  Then I'll go to as many of the Saturday judo sessions as I can.

i went tuesday and played teacher (broke a light sweat is all) i will go tonight.  i plan to stay 2 hours and do more...we'll see.  i hope to go saturday... beyond that i cannot see.

I had a fabulous work out saturday.  me and 190 ish brownbelt had sensei victor's full attention, and he pushed us hard.  i learned, sweated and got sore (but not hurt) love sensei victor!!!j

judo tonight(1hr), hopefully judo thursday(1.5-2hr), hubbie should be done working saturday's so judo saturday(2hr) too unless we go camping (it's a bit wet, but may be our last chance this year)
