This group is all about keeping that postitive attitude throughout your journey. It doesn't matter if you are just starting out or are maintaining, everyone needs someone to lean on now and then. So SCHMOOZE & LOSE with your friends and stay motivated!

WHAT TO EXPECT (GUIDELINES):

  1. This is a 10 week motivational group. If you feel you cannot endure the full 10 weeks, message me and let me know I don't hound you.
  2. You must post a Start and Finish weight. If you're not up to posting your weight on certain weeks, that's fine. This is all about staying motivated. 
  3. Mini-challenges will be posted on Sunday. We hope that everyone will take part, but if you don't, there is no pressure. We're here to support you on this journey.
  4. Feel free to use this group as a place to express yourself -  fears, frustrations, worries, goals, triumphs, successes. We are here to support and motivate one another, whether you're doing great or stuggling.

measurements took a while cuz i wanted to find my "starting" stats from november o8. and my stats from last week seemed like the bust measurement was wrong so i needed to recheck that: surprise surprise, wearing a bra and lifting those babies up a bit does make a difference! Embarassed. knew i didn't drop a cup size. . . . !

7/3/09:   196! Surprised thats what i get for trying to be healthy and quitting smoking! im a quitter and a loser! but im not losing very well amidst this quitting. .. . . losing weight is easier than quitting smoking, Yell

i'm not technically weighing in yet tho, see if i can drop a pound or two over night! hahahahah! wishful thinking. . . . 

I wish I could say I lost this week but I have had some bad influnces this week. My parents are visiting and my mom is a good cook. Plus it was my dad's birthday and we had a cookout with cake. I still tried to limit what I was eating so I could enjoy myself but not get too crazy. We have another cookout for the 4th and then I am back on track.

Hi everyone:  Sorry about this but I put down the wrong weight when I started (235 instead of 237!) so I have made the correction below...lost 4 pounds this week but it was a real struggle...am happy with the results although I am realizing this is going a be a long, slow struggle...wishing you all the best and thanking you for your inspiration/support!!!

Well, not a bad week. I finally passed the 50 pounds lost mark. That feels WONDERFUL!! Only 20 pounds to go to a normal BMI!

I was a pound lower that this today, but I have been weighing in on Thursday since I started in October, so I have to use Thursday's weight - just can't break that tradition. :)

well, at least i brought it down a pound from yesterday, although im not sure how that happened, as last night included pizza and drinking, but i was back on plan yesterday morning, and i did smoke, bad me! and its disgusting, so im back to nicotine-sobriety: breathing. and i have a plan: 

  • 4 meals a day at 1600 cal. (might split one into two snacks at 200 cal)
  • 20 min ex/mobility/streach/pt every morning. 
  • 20 min walk daily - can be 2- 10 min walks or a 40, just as long as at least 20 minutes walking gets in there. heavy duty lifting can be substituted occasionally, tho adding it is better. 
those are the basics for the next five days and i'll see where i am towards the end of next week. this is the first time i've gained since i realized i weighed 217 last september! i think it will come off pretty easy. right now it all feels like bloat around my mid section, taking up those 2.5 inches i lost in the last schnooze and lose!

WEEK 2: MY FOOD WEAKNESSES Everyone has one bad food that they just can't resist. We eat too much of it or we eat it too often. We know it's not the healthiest choice but we love it so...

  • What is your food weakness? 
  • Tell us what you do when the craving hits. Share your special tips to avoid eating that desired food.
  • Now pledge to all your Schmoozers that you will not eat this food for at least one  week:  "I ____(name)_____, do hereby promise not to eat ____(food)__ for ______ week(s) until July_____, 2009.
  • My food weakness is rotini pasta covered in ragu's alfredo cheese sauce.
  • The only way I can avoid it is to not buy it, but I still allow myself to have it sometimes, despite it being pretty nutritionally void and making me feel heavy and gross. However, instead of dumping the whole box of noodles in the pot and the whole jar of sauce in the pot, I only make one or two servings, and I log it!
  • I Melissa, do hereby promise not to eat white sauce noodles for 1 week until July 12, 2009. Yay!
  • LOL this made my morning! *puts on the badge and a BIG grin*

    My weakness is soda . . . Mountain Dew in particular.  A year ago I could easily drink a 12 pack in a weekend.  At 165 calories a can . . . . yeah, ouch.  I've cut it way back but still have one probably once a week.  I'm not sure if it's the taste, the sugar or the caffeine that I crave, but I think I've just about got it beat.

    I found a few other beverages that are better choices.  Sugar Free KoolAde is only 5 calories per glass.  Sure, it's a kids drink but it tastes pretty good.  I also like Crystal Light lemonade, also 5 calories per glass.  I keep both on hand in abundance.  When I have to stop at the store for milk or something . . . I make sure I only bring in enough money for what I need so I can't buy a soda while I'm there.  I'm also drinking plenty of water.

    I Angie, do hereby promise not to drink Mountain Dew for 1 week until July 12, 2009.

    Sorry for the delay. I planned to wait on posting my measurements until my mom or someone could help me, but it was a busy week. 

    The best things about me:

    • I am a good listener. I didn't realize this was a good thing until recently.
    • I can see both sides of most situations. Sometimes this is a flaw, because I can't always make a quick decision, but when I do decide, it is typically thoroughly analyzed. 
    • I truly care about other people's happiness and give as much of myself as possible to make someone smile.
