School food
I eat at my shcool a lot because I'm on a limited budget, The only problem is that my school serves nothign healthy that is veg-friendly except sickly looking salads. I wake up at 6:50 (barely, non negotiable, setting my alarm earlier doens't work) to make it to school at 7:30 for zero hour, so if I pack a lunch it has to be able to sit for four hours (I have a thermos but no lunch bag) be easy to prepare (hopefully the night before) and easy to store in a tiny messanger bag.
What I'm saying is I have lunch detention for a week so I am so stuck buying there nasty food or making my own which is where you can hopefully help?
Vegetarian suggestions?
you could:
make a veg sandwich/wrap night before
if fish eating vegetarian, tuna + salad is very easy to put together
make a bean/pasta salad or rice/noodles with veggies and separate into containers
soups are always good if you have a thermos, plenty of healthy/veg recipes around
hope those help, school canteens suck
i love to put hummus and some sweet peppers in a pita bread and have that for lunch, or sometimes some tabouli in a pita. very quick and easy to make in the morning before school!
i'm a vegetarian too, no way!
tomato salad is really easy... it's just some chopped up tomatoes and cheese and vinegar. you can prepare the tomatoes and cheese, then pour some vinegar in to a container and put it on later.
take some meal replacement bars
