Quote  |  Reply

For some reasons this is were i always get stuck on what to eat. I never what to have, become reallly indecisve and end up grabbing something with not enough cals.

Can anyone give me a good 300cal or so snack for afterchool?

I always have trail mix in the afternoon at work..the sweet and salty kind.  It has nuts, raisins, and m&m type deals.  It perfect because it satisfies the sweet tooth and provides healthy fats, but its is also quite healthy and filling because of the protein in the nuts.

i have porridge as a snack

hi!

well i guess it also depends on what you will be doing after school, homework or an activity or what, but i think the combo of PB+J and a fruit, or a bowl of cereal w/milk and a fruit, or a sandwich, really whatever, anything you want after a long of day school!

Wow you guys were quick off the mark today!

Agru: i do activites after school about 3 times a week (art, School mag, just made editor and another gcse revison or catch up group) but the rest of the time my mum wants me to come home and eat a snack.

yea, i have no life, lol

id say 1st go with whatever youre craving, if that doesnt work then id go w something pretty substantial, like sandwich and a glass of milk, something to keep you going.  when i was in high school id come home and my mother would get me a bagel and cream cheese from the bagel place.  i was always starving after school, deff go w a meal i think.

butterfly, also, i saw your post on the what did you eat thread and i want to suggest that you take a look at the "gaining on 2000/25000" thread below, it talks about gaining but also the mentality during recovery and ive found it helpful and helps focusing on the future, i hope it helps!

awww agru thanks do much. Ilove seeing you round here. Your great!!

oh, no prob hun!

keep trucking-you are so worth it!

I like to make some combination of boiled eggs, string cheese, milk, chicken, or beans.  I also like to add some bell pepper slices or fruit slices.

i'm a little late and some good ideas have already been thrown around, but I'll try and help! I know when i was still in middle/ high school the after school snack was a full meal for me and still is for my younger brothers, we'd all get home around the same time and start cooking. You can make sandwiches, pb and j is great with a banana or other fruit, heat up any leftovers, I'm personally a fan of breakfast foods so cereal, a bagel, waffles with honey and butter are really good, toaster strudels, frozen meals too. My brothers will come home and put a chicken pot pie in the microwave, or cook those bertolli prepared pastas.

=> as a side note AGRU, have you tried these?? they're really good! and great for you since you don't like to cook, they come in a bag in a bunch of different varieties of pasta or ravioli with sauce, veggies and sometimes chicken too, but they taste really fresh and are fast to make.

so yeah, I say just eat what you feel like, and make it a good complete meal since you're busy after school. And don't let indeciciveness become an excuse, when I can't decide between 2 or 3 different things I'll just have them all!

congrats on making editor too! that sounds like so much fun!

GIBBIT-hey, so i cant have the frozen meals that have meat or chicken or seafood bc its not kosher and we keep kosher in the house.  it makes it soooo hard to find convenient foods and thats why i somtimes eat boca stuff bc its veggie but i can microwave it so its easy.  i did find frozen cheese ravioli that you boil whcih i had a few days ago that was good.

MARMITE ON TOAST!

proper good
