that is weird looking food---- like eating rice with potatoes! too much whiteness going on...maybe the ketchup would look good on it....:-)

Its a french fry sandwich! Mmmmmm! Looks good. My grandma is from the UK. Next time I go see her maybe we can share one.

Wow!  Sounds interesting and something like an Italian Sausage sandwhich without the sausage and onions.  White bread or roll, fried potatoes, onions, sausage, ketchup and vinegar.  Sounds good!

Don't beat yourself up for giving yourself a treat. It's not a crime. Hang in there.

that sounds absolutely disgusting.

bread, butter, chips and ketchup? i am gagging just reading the discription.

note to self: never visit the UK

haha, wait til' you come to Scotland - deep fried, battered Mars Bars.

- there's one way to kick a diet!

Some family of mine out here in Texas was just talking about "potato sandwiches" over the weekend.  I was like "what the **** are you guys talking about?"  Now I know.

I wish I had a chip butty now, I ate a massive bag of chips from the chippy 2 nights ago (feel guilty now) oh well it was worth it. to further explain to the americans these chips are not oven cooked or in healthy oil its 100% animal lard (but without the smell) its magic oil

OK - let me explain this gourmet meal to you Americans - missing out on soo much....First you need proper chippy chips - big, thick and yummy (kind of like "fries" but chunkier, and crispier).  Then butter two thick slices of soft white bread, and make a sandwich ("buttie").  Ketchup, vinegar,  and salt are all optional condiments on this particular English / Irish delicacy.  A gazillion ca lories, too many carbs and fat grams and sodium to even count.  A wee piece of heaven (drool, sob cos can't possibly have one.....)

Wait this actually has a name?Surprised  And here I was thinking I had invented this when I was a kid. I hadn't had one in years. Thanks for the memories.

the best for after a good few drinks late at night. mmmmmm, if i hadn't indulged yesterday at my fiance's parents i think i would eat one tonight.
