screw this! I'm going back to chix and fish!!!!!!!!
That's not a very good idea, health-wise. Though if it's just for two weeks, and you're otherwise healthy, it probably won't have time to do any real damage. Expect that the few pounds you lose will come right back on when you stop, though.
All-protein diet = dehydration, therefore water weight lost. Also, that level of repetition will limit your calories all on its own. You can't eat that much just chicken breast and fish, after all - you get bored and sick of it, so you don't eat much, period.
Not advisable for any weight loss that you actually want to keep off, mind you.
good luck with your chicken. (I eat a lot of that also)
Eat more fruits and base your diet on fruits and veggies. You get more nutrition and aren't loading yourself full of all of the byproducts and chemicals that are in animal protein sources.
Not saying you need to give up meat- just don't base your diet on it, weight lost on high protein diets is primarily water and then whatever the calorie deficit causes. You get much more nutrients from a balanced diet focusing on fresh sources of energy.
When there is very little to go, it can be hard to notice a difference, but remember, you may have lost and the scales haven't shown it yet. I fluctuate about 5lbs through a day, sometimes more. I have increased by 2-4lbs and stayed there for a few days (and the lbs get added to the fluctuation) if I have eaten less fibre than usual or not had enough water, or anything that causes water retention, then one day, I'll be down a lb from what I suddenly started going up from.
I will just say this.... I lost over 10lbs (143 to 128) by giving up meat and dairy after I had given up on losing the mere 5lbs I had hoped to lose.

It just seems to be alot harder for people who only have 10-20 lbs to lose. I'm all for lifestyle change but when you start working out and putting weight on it's so disappointing
Did you consider that you might be putting on muscle, and that you are not just putting on 4lbs of fat? Not sure if your workouts include lifting weights or cardio (or both), but that could be a possible reason for weight gain.
Those four pounds could also be water weight - make sure you're well hydrated and keep an eye on your daily level of sodium in your food log. And I wouldn't recommend eating only chicken and fish. Not only does that sound totally unappetising, but very hard to maintain too. Just my 2cents.
Hmm, probably it is better to try South Beach diet then? I am not particularly against protein diet because many studies show that well-designed higher protein diet (this is NOT eating-only-protein-type diet; just higher proportion of protein) is effective for weight loss - at least for the short term.
My the only worry would be that people on protein diet tend to get back all lost weight (and plus more for many cases) when they are done with protein diet. I think South Beach diet at least helps you to go back to normal eating habit step by step while not gaining back much?? It will also help you to balance between protein and vegetables, more nutrition-wise. Just my 2 cents.
PS - I read the book but had never done it :) Heard some success stories though.
If your going to just eat meat. Then just do low carbs in general. Eat meat, veggies and ranch dip, salads, diet drinks, water, etc... 20grams of carb per day for two weeks will deffinetly drop that scale needle in the right direction. One normally will drop 6-12 pounds during that two weeks. At least you will be eating more substantially, then what you are currently contemplating. Good luck in which ever you decide!

ps: i have done Atkins in the past, and it really does work. read the book, if you haven't already. it is a good way to jump start.

veggies are great but they make you bloated and then you feel like crap
If you ate them more consistently that wouldn't be a problem. The fiber does that to you, its important to get your daily recommeded of fiber and if you are low carb that is the way to get them. Good luck!
