Weight Loss
Moderators: duke3522, devilish_patsy, topanga1485, nycgirl, spoiled_candy, cmillington, coach_k I screwed up!
I did SO GOOD yesterday, and then I made dinner, which in and of itself, was not the problem. The problem was the pilsburry buttery flakey biscuts I made with dinner for hubby and son. I ate THREE (yes three) of them!
I felt so guilty that I then ate a klondike bar.
This morning I had a peice of chocolate cake that a SKINNY Girl brought in from home because she knew the vultures here at work would gobble it up so she wouldn't get the chance to be tempted!
GRRRRRRRRRRR I am SOOOOOOOOO weak sometimes!

Awww, I know how that feels. The key is not to let yourself get so frustrated that you continue to let the day go down hill. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep going.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Don't worry trishiek, we ALL have those days!!! Some days are better than others. Like supersized says, just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep going. If you stress it too much, you'll have a harder time recouping from it. One day at a time dear, one day at a time!!!
That was what I was saying earlier...I have been weak lately as well!!!
We can help each other through......
We can help each other through......
So, you screwed up.
Welcome to the club. We have T-shirts for this club too.
Every day is a struggle against ourselves. Sometimes we win. SOmetimes the Pillsbury Buttery Flaky Biscuits win. Know what? WE ALL give in to temptation now and then.
Luckily, with weight loss, it's a law of averages, if you have more good days than bad days, you'll probably lose weight. If you let your bad days turn into week-long binges, than you may NOT lose weight.
It's tough to always battle yourself, and believe me, I can appreicate the frustration and the guilt of not being in control, but.. you just have to deal with things one day at a time.
You had a bad day yesterday. You CAN Do better today. Don't let what happened yesterday ruin the rest of your week, just try to keep doing better.
That's all any of us can do. :)

Thanks guys.. I was ready to just eat WHATEVER today cuz I figured I blew it anyways, but you are right hkellick, it is a game of averages, isnt' it?
Thanks for your support, now, let me wipe the chocolate off my face and get back in gear!
Bless you all and may you have a successful day!
PS - one day at a time?? Try one HOUR at a time!

Then one hour at a time.. but you CAN do it! :)
as everyone above has said, we have all had a day/days like that... let it go and start anew, that is really the only option! i mean, you could continue down the path that leads to self loathing and guilt, but do you really want that? noooooo, so you have to choose to let yesterday (and this morning) go, and make better food choices starting now...
i know what my weaknesses are (the biscuits would have been terribly hard to resist) so i avoid them by just not having them be an option... if i can't have it, then rest of the family probably doesn't need it ayway! i rationalize it like this: it's not being unfair to them, it is just keeping them healthy!
so, chin up! you can do better, you know you can! and, i believe that you will!

you were doing fine right up til "i felt so guilty that i ate a klondike bar."
you do see the contradiction there, don't you?
one of the biggest lessons we work on is "quit while you're ahead." so let yesterday go.... start over again today. don't starve, don't stuff... and enjoy the stuff that you want to- in moderation.

yeah, that whole klondike bar thing is making my head spin. why do we do self-destructive things like that? I know we're thinking "well I already screwed up, what's this gonna hurt?". but it DOES hurt. so you messed up at dinner...make up for it later. two wrongs does not make a right.
whats a Klondike bar...dont have them here in UK but i can almost taste it!!! i recall posting a week or so back my awful weekend of KFC and BBQ's...seemed like the end of it all, and could have been had i let it. but you guys reassured me when i needed it most and since then its been all on course again. so hang in there
its kind of like a magnum bar
Okay, you got your flaky biscuits and Klondike bar in for the week, so they won't be calling your name again anytime soon, right? On to other things!
Knowing that you "screwed up" is a good thing. :) Eating blindly and not paying attention is what gets us into trouble.
Your doing great. Like you said One hour at a time. Don't deny yourself the foods you love, eat them in moderation and try to incorparate them into your calorie count. Make the rest of your foods as healthy as possible. And don't forget to drink your Water.
Hang in there, we are all here for you.
((((HUGS))))

I just thought of this, remember when you are riding a bike and the chains come loose, and then you fix it, but as you start riding again it makes a crakle sound...well that is how I think of when we "over eat" and then get back on the bike again. It's all good. Just hang in there, we have all done it, and what matters is not letting one day ruin the rest.
{hugs}

Trish-
Do not beat yourself up.... We all go through it.
Maybe you should allow yourself some treats sometimes (maybe once a week). Very Small portions. Maybe then you won't feel like your cheating or loosing control.
Pick a day where you can have that Klondike bar or some ice cream (small portions). You can even do an extra 20 mins of excerise to even it all out if the guilt gets to you.
You can't cut all the foods you love out of your diet. This is pretty much a new and better way of life. You need to include the things you love. Of course you have to control how much and how frequent you have these little snacks.
Just get back into the loop... we all have those days... I know that guilty feeling.... GOOD LUCK!
