Hi Keri!!! Glad you found us all!!!
Good morning! Our community is growing! Yea! Now we will all start shrinking together....
Good morning ladies.
I am a trying to flybaby and I just wanted to say hello and welcome everyone to c-c.
Please feel welcome to jump in and join our discussions. We have chats going on all day and all night and even on the week-ends.
We hold celebration parties at every occasion the we can. We'll even celebrate if your pet has lost weight. Any excuse for a party.
Feel free to join in on one of our challenges, there are many on going challenges and new ones starting every month. There is also a challenge of the month, much like the habit of the month on flylady.

Good morning! Well, I'm adjusting a few of my goals slightly. I found yesterday, as soon as I fixated on staying below my daily calories, I got the worse cravings, and ended up wayyyy over. So, babysteppin' here, I will increase water, increase exercise and continue to enter all of my foods. That way I can look for patterns in my eating. The grade thing doesn't seem to accurate - I did well on both days, even though yesterday, I pigged out?!? So, here's to being accountable! (did you know, I didn't want to enter my extra snacks??? serious blinders on here!) Have a great day!
We're all learning together. . . I think your doing great 2kc! Everyone have a great night.
I do the same think 2kc. If I tell myself I can't have something it makes me want it more. My problem is not listening to my body and really knowing I am full and not over-eating. I also have a problem with keeping portion sizes down. Those are my baby steps right now with getting more exercise in and drinking more water. This weekend I really just tried to focus on what kinds of foods I was eating and why I was eating what I was eating. It was a real eye-opener.
Okay, another bad day here. I didn't get to walk or exercise today plus I didn't eat breakfast and ended up going WAY over on calories. . . oh well maybe Sarah won't be too harsh on me. Tomorrow's another day.
Sarah, don't be so hard on yourself - we all have days when we stumble. The important thing that I've noticed is since we've come together as a group is that our bad habits are changing, and we get encouraged when others make good choices for themselves. Keep your personal goals in mind - you are doing so well, and I thank you for starting the accountability threads (here and on SCS). Just know that you've made a difference in many lives, and you can babystep your way through this. Don't let perfectionism take over and stop!!! Can't tell if I'm lecturing or not (I have my own soapbox with my name engraved on it) Big hugs and here's to a better tomorrow.
I'm with 2kc, Sarah. This thread has been such a blessing. I can already feel a change in my life and it is not forced but out of love for myself. This thread is allowing us to all make changes in our lives and no not every day is going to be perfect but just know in the grand scheme that you're making positive changes that are going to last a lifetime.
Wow, thank you guys so much for the support. I too am enjoying this group, even more than I anticipated. I think we are all doing well. I did better for lunch today and had tuna (low sodium with NO MAYO) and 1 c of broccoli. I'm drinking my water right now and am promising myself that I'll walk when I get home today. Thanks again, I hope everyone has a great day!
Whew, just got back from cleaning my mom's house - I tell you, it sure makes it easier when I track the minutes so I can enter it into my activity log. I don't enjoy housework, but looking at it as exercise has given me a nice mental shift. Sarah, glad to hear you are having a better day. BTW, feel free to call me Kirstin (I'm so used to having my signature at the bottom at SCS!) I have a sticky note on my moniter to keep your names straight. Feeling pretty good right now, the sun is shining, which hasn't happened alot this summer. Our weather up here is like Seattle's but about 10-15 degrees colder. I AM GRATEFUL FOR SUNSHINE! Hope your evenings go well,Kirstin
Kirsten, glad you got some exercise in, even if it was cleaning. I have to say the CC is helping me too with counting calories burned on things I never thought about. I have to say, I'm also envious of all you whose weather is below 70. It's still in the 90's here.
Yipes, that is warm weather! I also got to walk for 2 km to get the kids (about 1 1/4 miles) to pick them up from the bus stop - I walked aerobically there and leisurely back and, boy oh boy, have I felt it. I hope some cool weather gets sent your way soon.
Thanks Kirsten. I've been using the heat as an excuse not to walk. It's difficulte to get motivated to go outside when it's 106. Now that it is cooling down, I hope to get motivated more.
I think you are doing so well - by the time I get a chance to get on the computer most days, everyone is in bed so I get to "lurk" and catch up with what everyone is doing. I keep trying to remind myself to babystep my way there - I really tend to be an all or nothing kind of a gal. The other day, I succumbed to my chocolate chip habit and after having one handful, decided that I'd blown it for the day and ate alot more!!! On the plus side, by increasing my water and monitoring my food intake, I've managed to lose a 2 pounds. Now, I've just have to keep moving to tone those muscles. I hope you have even cooler weather soon and be able to walk for fun.
I'm so sorry ladies, I forget about this thread and mostly use the SCS one...I will try harder to check in here as well. My day today was pretty good, didn't over eat on anything...I was at work and working quite hard so I didn't get a chance to feel really hungry. I did cave in on dinner and order Papa John's. I was almost in an accident on the highway after work today, so I really didn't feel like cooking...bad excuse I know, but I'm still shake-y feeling.
Sarah, are you ok? It's not a bad excuse at all, I've been in one and it affects how you drive alot. I'm not trying to enable ya, just don't be so all or nothing (pot calling kettle black). I'm having a hard time planning my menus and actually cooking them (ended up having french toast last night) but babysteps. I hope your commute goes smoothly today!
Okay, question for any guru's of food out there (including moderators who might see this). So I keep hearing and reading that the whole wheat pasta and breads are way better and that I should switch from the white flour products. Well while I was in the grocery store today I did label comparisons of Calorie, Sodium, and Carbs for the normal items I would eat and then the whole weat products. The difference was minimal.
So, my question I guess is. . . if I'm monitoring my portions well, is there any other reason I should be fighting with my family to get them to eat the whole wheat products for minimal benefit?
