I'm 27, 5'3" and aiming to lose about 40 lbs. Got down to 135 after college, but the weight has crept back on in the past 5 years. I've been living in NYC with my boyfriend who eats TERRIBLY so the weight gain has definitely accelerated this past year. Time to get back on track! Current weight: 165. Goal weight: 128. I'd like to be down to 145 by Thanksgiving. I know it's not too realistic as I'm not working out for hours a day, but I think it will motivate me more to have a somewhat unattainable goal. Looking for a buddy with similar goals and no kids. No offense to all the mommies out there, but you have a legitimate reason for having gained weight! I would definitely feel inferior to someone who gained weight from having kids.
looks like we have similar goals :) though I want to be down to at least 145 by christmas if not closer to my goal of 120. Similar goals and no I don't have kids so I'll be your buddy :D
I just joined CC today and would like to have a buddy to help me reach my goal weight of 135. I am a mommy but I went down to my post mommy weight. I have been 150 for most of my life. I have gained about 8Ibs in the past couple months. I'm 26 and so ready to lose this weight. I'm on the 1200 cal plan.
I'll be your buddy. I'm 25, I started CC on September 21, I was 175lbs then. My goal weight is 150 as I am a bit tall (5ft 10) I don't want to lose too much weight and look skinny.
For the past month I have controlled my eating habit, drink a lot of water and exercice at least twice a week so far I have lost 17lbs.
Great job on the 17Ibs weight loss! What do you usually eat in a day? I overdo my calories after I get off Work. I have been controlling how much I eat also staying away from bad carbs.
Just wanted to check in with everyone and see how it's going. I'm down 4.5 lbs since joining CC two weeks ago. And I have been keeping up my gym routine of 4 days a week for the past three weeks. I'm never gone to the gym that consistently in my life! Got off track a day or two with my calories, but not nearly as bad as I would have before being on CC (was about 2,000 and trying to start around 1,200). How's everyone else's progress?

Hey my name is Terri and I just turned 27, I am 5'5 and 167. I am also trying to be at 130lbs perferable ny Christmas! I have always lost weight and then gained it back. I have tried to cut out food, and also worked out heavily in the past. I would see results but then to slowly gain back the weight. I recently decided to get a personal trainer. She actually showed me this site. She has really helped me see how I should be eating, when, and what. She has also shown me how to excercise correctly. She is great!
I am new to this website aswell, so if you need a buddy I am here! When I started seeing my boyfriend, I was the thinest I had been in awhile, but then he and I got comfortable with each other. We moved in together and became a bit lax in our food chocies. We both are trying to eat better now. He is pretty thin, 5'11 155. He just wants to be healthy. So we are both trying to make better chocies. For me it gets hard going to the gym every morning and not seeing the scale move. I begin to think why am I even trying. But I keep thinking that I just got to keep pushing myself and not give up.
I do not have any kids and don't plan to for awhile!
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
