Secret Santa Food Ideas

Quote  |  Reply

I'm participating in a secret santa gathering and I wanted to bake something for my person.  I was wondering if anybody had any ideas other than baking a generic cake or cookies...maybe someone could help me with ideas for shapes or something?

you could make holiday rice krispie squares!

i think to make them you just make the usual rice krispie squares mixture (melted marshmallows and the cereal), but use the "holiday rice krispies" instead and instead of cutting them into squares, use cookie cutters in the shape of christmas trees or something. i hope i'm making sense D:

if not, the rice krispies website will have tips that can help you further.

Gingerbread men are always fun :D

you could decorate them to look like people you know, or with funny faces

 that's actually SUCH a cool idea :)

Not a cake or cookies, but homemade pecan rolls would be an unexpected treat!

There are recipes for pecans where you coat them in a mix of eggwhite, cinnamon, sugar and maybe brown sugar before baking them. They are amazing - taste like the best candies.

cupcakes are always a hit!

chocolate liqueur truffles would have a nice grown up twist to them. You can use real liqueur or spirits or extract/essence.

Haha I really like that idea! This I must try =]

Just make sure it's not the infamous *fruitcake.* :P

I think homemade chocolate candies would be nice. My family knows a woman who makes the best chocolate candies filled with peanut butter, coconut, cherries, nuts, etc.

Haha, I would totally make homemade chocolate, but I don't have any chocolate molds.

theluckiest - wow, those are really cute!  Unfortunately, I don't have half of those ingredients in that recipe, and I don't usually eat those either if I had to purchase those ingredients, so I'll have to pass =[  Really great idea though!
