Sedentary or light activity?
so, I'm sure EVERYONE has asked this, but I'm wondering. which one am I? what classifies someone as 'sedentary'? When I'm home, I walk around the house a lot, I do chores like cleaning the kitchen or the bathroom, fold and do laundry, and I go to the gym a few times a week or I just liftweights every other day or go on walks sometimes.
But I also do a lot of sedentary stuff, like I'm on the computer more than I am doing exercise (about two or three hours a few times a day) or I just stand around a lot watching tv.
So, is this sedentary activity or light activity?
I also sit at a desk all day, but I run for 60 minutes 5-days a week. I say "light" and then add the time I run, the times I stretch, and the short amount of time I do more rigorous calisthenics in prep for the run. Sometimes my prep-for-running activities vary so I am putting in a more honest number of calories burned when I list them individually. And on the two days I am letting my muscles rest, well then I don't log in any activities unless I just do some cross-training activities such as strength training.
