Okay, day four on using this forum.
I am a past Weight Watchers Leader and I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Leader. 1 1/2 years ago I took a position as an Accounts Manager at a Ski Resort - obviously not a physically active job. I have always been in great shape - up until recently. I have only gained about 7 pounds but haven't been able to exercise in the format I was used to. Added to that, I turned 40 last April and realize that - yes Virginia - turning 40 DOES change a woman's body!!! Finally, I am a fairly recent single-mom whose life TOTALLY revolves around my 10 year old daughter and work. Needless to say, finding "me time" is difficult. So here I am, attempting this new type of forum. I am really trying to write down everything I eat and maybe if others comment on my choices, I will fully realize the impact of those choices. I do eat healthy. I am a fan of organic, whole grain foods, rarely eat red meat (chooe bison over beef), eat organic/natural fed chicken, organic/natural eggs, light soy milk and lots of nuts. My problem is portion control and I have a tendency to indulge in a good bottle of red wine and/or multiple beers with "the girls". Well, that's it in a nutshell for today. The title of this blog was "seeds". Thats because I am starting a "new chapter" in my life and you need a seed to start growing. Also - I mistakenly wrote down "sunflower seeds" as part of my diet and was excited that the calories weren't too bad. Unfortunatly, I realized later that what I had been eating were pumpkin seeds!!! They are substantially higher in calories!!! Oh well, live and learn.
So, for whoever has taken the time to read this long entry, by all means please comment on my progress
Hi!
I did a search in the forum for "weight watchers leader" and your post turned up. I know it's been a while since you posted but I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I'm a former leader myself and I've been struggling a bit and I just wanted to connect with other former leaders who are struggling a bit. So... hi!
RE: the pumpkin seeds - they are really good for you if you have bladder issues so don't count them out. A few years ago I thought I might have interstitial cystitis (turns out I didn't) and I read that pumpkin seeds could help and I did feel like I got some relief while eating them.
Anyway, feel free to say hi if you get a chance ![]()
