I was reading this article and I was wondering, what is everyone's opinion of this stuff? Have you tried it before, or will you ever?

Hmm.... nobody has an opinion or any experiences?

Hmmm....magic pixie dust?

I've neer heard of Sensa, but sounded interesting from the link.  But is it too good to be true? There always seems to be a catch....

Here is an informative review of Sensa:

I have just started using Sensa this past Monday and they do tell you it can take a month of consistent sprinkling to reap a 5 pound loss........the reason why I decided to give it a go is because I have trouble with night time eating and love sweets and this is supposed to help curb cravings & to feel full....I will be using it as yet an extra tool with exercise and calorie control diet...well so far these past three days I have not binged at night.....I don't think it is a placebo effect because I have tried many magic pills and they never work so only time will tell and I will be giving it the whole 6 month recommendation...one of my friends who is doing a fitness challenge with me  thinks I am crazy for trying magic crystals I guess I will just have to wait and see.

So, this may be a stupid question, but I've spent some time researching Sensa the past few days and one thing keeps coming to mind...why do you actually have to eat the crystals?? If its all about smell, it seems to me you should just be able to open up whatever container its in, and take a few whiffs while you eat. They supposedly have no taste or nutritional value anyway.

Ive tried to find an answer to this question but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

I’d never heard of Sensa before, but from what I read it’s because it’s not the smell of the substance alone (it wouldn’t really have any odour by itself), it’s the way it’s supposed to enhance the flavour and aroma of the food when it touches it. To just open up the container and whiff it would be like doing that to a container of salt or MSG; they don’t enhance the food unless they’re in contact with it.

You're right. About the MSG anyway. (I think salt does have a smell) MSG on the other hand has no smell or taste and yet enhances the food experience.  Very interesting.

Sensa does claim to be 'MSG Free', but it's not required to be FDA approved.

For me, I think skepticism wins. My next salad will be sprinkle free. :)

Sensa was reviewed in a Calorie Cout blog last June.  Lots of comments.
