McDerin and I have agreed its time for a September Abs/Tummy/Core Challenge.

The Challenge is to challenge yourself!
We will need your Name and a starting waist measurement.  I will enter your name, start date and starting measurement then at the end of the month, remeasure and see the amazing results!

IF you are interested, here is all you have to do!

10 minutes a day for the month of September devoted to your Core/Abs is all we are asking! and if you are doing the Minutes challenge, this gives you an extra 70 mins a week! :) or 300 more minutes for the Month!!

If this is a new thing for you let us know and we will help you out.
Feel free to send either of us a Private Message!

Speaking of here to help!!!  Each Week we will give full instructions on an ab workout for you to try for that week.  This way you arent stuck with the same thing each week and you can work different muscles.  NO boring routines here people!  Then we can all compare in the end to see what was everyones favorite.  We will also give tips on other ways, like your diet, to help drop that belly!

Below is a link to some helpful information put together earlier in the year.

SO who is with us???

edit- added list

ok, so i have been way to intimidated to join an exersize challenge but why not right? i really need to do some core work and some sort of strength training, all i've been doing so far is cardio.  So I'll join.  Is there anyway you can post a routine for beginners that's the 10 minute length?  That would be amazing, and I LOVE the fact that you're going to post a new routine every week, I'll have no excuses about being bored or not knowing what to do.  Starting stats are...waist 29 hips 37

I would love to join...I have a question tho...lets say that twice a week I do pilates anyway....does that count (since it is not the exercise you all posted?)

My waist is at 29"

Doing Pilates would definitely count :)
You don't have to do the exercise(s) we post; they will just be suggestions.
AND, if any of the participants have suggestions for additional exercises, please, SHARE!

tabathar,
I will be giving several different exercise ideas, in addition to the info that you can find in the link that is in the original post of this thread. Slappy has compiled tons of awesome stuff.
You can pick and choose stuff according to your fitness level and mix them up to fulfill the 10 minutes :)
We are not sticklers on that stuff :)
The basics are just before/after measurements (or just posting total lost at the end if you prefer), and committing to trying for 10 minutes a day!

Welcome again to everyone!

haha little Nat...

I'm in. will get the measurement tonight and post it later.

Name: Fred/Don Vito

Edited to add waist size and to advise that this is my first time doing this type of challenge.

Waist: 46.5

Everyone- Thanks for joining!  If you have never been involved in a monthly ab "challenge" You are going to have a blast!  We will see great results, We promise!  I know alot of people gain in the midsection, so lets see how many inches we can knock off as a team.  If you get discouraged during your 10minutes of ab workouts, DONT!!!!!  Remember, more than likely one of us here is doing them at the same time as you.

Someone asked about a 10min. Routine....everyone is different.  Some can do more crunches in a minute than others. just push yourself a little more each night and you will see major improvement thru the month.  I do have in the main post a link to some workouts I found thruout the web.  feel free to check them out, there are some great routines that could help you!  Here it is again ....

Hi,

I would like to join. I will have to get back to back to you with my measurement. Where is the correct place to measure?

Thru suggestion of theangrypeanut I would also like to join! :)

I need to know what part everyone is measuring? I measure at my belly button since that is where I wear my pants. But just last week measured at my natural waist as well. Please advise which I should be logging here.

I've lost 1 inch at my belly button in the past month with just wogging and eating healthier, so I'm interested in losing even more doing this challenge! :)

Thanks guys! :)

EDITED TO ADD: Per Slappy's answer, I will go with my natural waist measurement. So my starting measurement is 34 inches.

Thanks!

I'm in!

I'll post my waist measurment on the 1st.

If anyone needs to measure your waist correctly, here is a site that shows accurate measurements.  I always heard one easy way to do it is to.... take your pointer and middle finger, place them right above your bellybutton, then measure at the top of the fingers-make sense?  When I do that, its basically at my natural waist.

hope this helps!! :)

I was so excited to have found this post! I didn't work at ALL summer but starting this fall I get free membership to the school's recreation center. Time to get working out once again. Hopefully this will add some motivation on my end! My current waist measurement is 25.5 inches. I'm not really looking to lose inches as much as I am to just majorly tone up and get my body back into shape!

just because you have a small waist doesnt always mean you dont to get toned!  Good luck getting toned!
