Week 1 challenge: Eat something new every day Eating new and exciting foods is not only beneficial to your metabolism but can also spice up your weekly food routine. Try that starfruit, taste that pomegranete juice, find out what ocra is!!!!!!!
Week 2 Challenge: Challenge 2000! Same rules as last month - burn 2000 calories in a week through exercise. Walking is accepted. (Olivia, hope your bike arrives in time!)
Week 3 Challenge: Some like it hot... It has been proven that eating spicy foods can boost your metabolism for up to 30 mins after eating. This week's challenge is to eat more spicy foods to get that metbolism working harder. Think chilli peppers, tobasco sauce, peri peri.... or for those of you with sensitive stomachs, why not spice up your workout routine with a salsa lesson or some dancing?
Week 4 Challenge: Challenge 2000+1! Same as above, but the aim is to beat last time's score by 100 cals.
Good luck!!!
Woohoo! I'm so excited!
Thank you for this!
Safiyah
Rock on!! I am ready!!!!!
Way to go tigzy...you are an amazing source of motivation. Thanks!!!!!!!!!
feels excited!! only 4 days to go girls!!!
hehehe i started by having a sharon fruit today - it wasnt very ripe so a little crunchy but i would sdef have it again :)
also - im going out tonight for dinner so am gonna trysomething new from the menu..
You all kicked my butt last month! I am going to really step it up this month!
Tigzy - Thanks for putting in the extra time and energy to keep us on board and motivated! I think it means a great deal to everyone :)
What is a sharon fruit? I wanna try.....
I love the challenges too, girl! creative, competitive, and fun! woo hoo!!!
Cannot wait!
I want, if tigzy minds not, to maybe start off this post with all the positive self-affirmations we can come up with. I had the best month I have had in a while. I lost 14 lbs in May before my vacation with the help of one post in particular. Then we went on vacation, and I was good, but not great, but since we walked everywhere, I gained nothing. Spent the summer, losing slowly, ounces at a time...............
Started back to work on the 11th of August, and I ended up losing 8 lbs this month. More importantly, I feel more self-assured that this is indeed a LIFESTYLE for me, and not a diet, since I kept up with my morning workouts and good eating when I went back to work.
I, for one, have a long streak of maintaining for a long time/bouncing back and forth, on the same 2 numbers for a long time and then losing a lot all at once, and repeat. It finally happened again. I went from 168something August 1st to 159.4 TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! &n bsp; hell yeah!!!!! The new bike is more accurate and I cannot wait to see what happens next. I am attending a BIG conference of teachers on the 19th of September. I would love to be at 155 by then. OH, please, oh please, oh please. ( ; (just to put my goal for the month out there) xoxoxox be safe this weekend!!!
good sunday lovelies! i have had a slightly naught weekend, since i went out on friday and had chocolate brownies with ice cream from wetherspoons in place of alcohol hehehehe! i had a big enough defecit to more than cover the whole plateful lukily, but i had been craving chocolate for a few days and had to have it, so thats one bad meal in 8 weeks - not bad going in my opinion lol!! im up to 140 today but i know i havent overeaten by 3500 cals its just water weight. i need to get back on track with my water intake *takes large gulps from glass*
my postive thought is that last time i lost the weight, i was able to lose 64lbs. losing 20 therefore is easy in comparison!! hehe, thats what keeps me going, remembering where iv come from. i love going into a shop and picking up a uk size 16 and holding it against my new smaller figure :)
the results for last month were..
Most weight lost
1st Paul_y 19lbs
2nd Safiyah1 8.4lbs
3rd tigzy and olivia77 5.8lbs
Biggest percentage lost
1st paul_y 6.35%
2nd safiyah1 4.5%
3rd tigzy 4%
looking forward to friday everbody :)
OH! and my goal for the month is 145 - i want to weight this by 29th september when i go back to uni :)
Thanks Tigzy! I feel so lucky to still be included in the group as I did not participate much in chats or fare very well in the weight loss department.
Honestly I will try harder to be more active...the chili peppers would kill me though and I would lose a lot more than weight...(NOT KIDDING)
I have been at plateau for nearly 4 months although I am no steadily moving away from the high end of plateau range --just WAY too slowly
I don't work out enough--always working (nights) or on the road to my Dads and then spending my very little free time at the casino--THAT has to stop
REPRIORITIZE
<sigh> No substitute for eating right and working out... :)
I hear you on the actual chili peppers, Z. me too. I do use things like low sodium hot sauce though, to spice up cottage cheese, lunch wraps and all kinds of things.
I'm up for another challenge if you have other ideas. Small steps too, zena. More water, more fiber and fruit/veg, more moving on purpose..... you deserve to feel good, girl.
Let's make it an AWESOME September! ( :
I read that mustard powder can increase metabolism and coffee...but 2 drinks of alcohol zap metablism by 71 %!!!
71%?!?!?!?!!! RIGHT THATS IT!! no alcohol for me lol!! i cant believe its that high!!
i didnt drink enough water this weekend and the scales are showing it... badly! id gone up from 138.8 to 140.6 but i did a little better yday so its already down to 139.6 again... *sips from glass*
i have two interviews on thurs so im hoping i can fit back into my suit trousers by then lol. they havent fit in a very VERY long time.... i just about squeezed into them in april hahah, and they were NOT comfy! :)
zena - any loss is a great loss, its good that your still motivated after 4 months, i know id be struggling after that long! olivia's right, small steps - add an hours walking to your weekly exercise, then build up slowly from there. i started with walking half an hour every day in my lunch break, then added a short run once a week, and have built up to 3 hours swimming with 3 hours wii fit a week. i think the toughest thing is getting motivated in the first place and then for the first few weeks keeping motivated! lol after a month it becomes routine
how is everyone doing today??
im doing good sandlady! im a bit bored actually, pretty much everyone on here is celebrating in america (or worrying about america and the hurricane) so there s no one to relaly talk to lol! how r u?
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
