Seriously? What is up with weight fluctuations?
This morning my weight was up 0.8 of a pound. I know that's nothing to freak over, but every time I get on the scale and it's up, I get really MAD! Even though my deficit through food and exercise was 1,000 calories yesterday, even though I didn't eat anything high in sodium, even though I followed the same morning routine as I always do before weighing myself...what is up with that?!
What's up is that you're getting on the scale too often. What you weigh on any particular day is influenced by your hydration levels and how efficiently your digestion is running a lot more than by how many calories you ate or didn't eat. If you could step on, see a gain and shrug your shoulders it would be no big deal. But if it makes you 'MAD'.... don't do it any more because it's telling you nothing useful and ruining your day at the same time. Put the scales away for a week and when you next step on them you'd be more likely to see the true picture. Best of luck
I posted something similar a few days ago. UGH. I think you both actually replied, haha. I had to STRUGGLE this morning not to weigh myself. Maybe we can both work on not weighing every morning. It really does turn me into quite the lunatic.
I'm trying to resist until Friday.... It's scary though! Good luck!
I weight myself every morning, and I actually write it down. I can gain and lose the same 3-4 pounds all the time. It doesn't bother me, because I definitely see the pattern in it by writing it down, but once I'm out of that range then I cut back on the calories.
I agree, not stepping on the scale is difficult. I do it every morning and I write it down, but only my "Monday weight" is what I take to monitor my overall weight loss with. Don't forget to take into account that females might weight more during certain times of the month than others.
Good luck!

While it would be nice, your weight is not going to go down every single day even if you are doing all the right things. It could just be that you ate some heavy food yesterday and your body is still digesting it or maybe you just need to go to the bathroom. I am the same way when I have a perfect day and my weight doesn't go down, I get really frustrated. So I'm trying to just weigh once a week, I think it is doable. I keep the scale in the linen closet and take it out on Mondays. although i admit sometimes i sneak a peek in the middle of the week. A general downward trend is what you need to be looking for. Good luck!!
I know how you feel - I was up two whole pounds yesterday morning, taking me back up over 200lbs. Grrr... I was 'bad' on Sunday but not THAT bad! (I made fried chicken and waffles with peach icecream for dessert for a special 'treat day' and I had just over 2000 calories instead of my usual 1500) Anyway, almost one pound of it was gone again this morning, and I'm really hoping that another one will join it tomorrow, because I worked too darned hard to get this far...
Your body is an unbelievably complex machine that is influenced by a lot of different factors besides just what you eat and when you work out. There's a lot going on there. A lot. You needn't fight it, you need to work with it to achieve a common goal. Don't get frustrated when you fluctuate within a pound... it's perfectly normal, and there are just so many things happening at a level you can't see. Work with your body, stop fighting it.
