I have been going strong for the past 2 weeks with my diet and excercise. I have been hearing alot about differnt work out shakes that help with energy and muscle. Is there one out there for women? I don't know too much about them and I don't want to buy one and "bulk up". I just want to lose some fat and build up some muscle.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Oh yeah and please try to keep flavor in mind. I struggle with foods that arn't appealing. :)
What type of nutrition are you looking for? Do you know? :)
I am afraid I don't know. I havn't really been counting my calories, more than keeping a good eye on them. I would just like a shake that gives me energy for my work out ( 30 min + cardio daily and weight training 3 times a week ) and helps lose fat and build muscle.

Any suggestions would help.
*headshake* If you're losing weight, you won't gain muscle. you may be able to keep what you have, and that's important, but you won't gain.
So I've understood it from people who know what they're talking about :)
Now I'm confused. I thought the weight training is for the muscles and the cardio helped burn the fat.
Weight Training will help you keep the muscles you have. Cardio will burn calories. :)
I drink a pea protein shake that aids in weight loss.  I use it as somewhat of a meal replacement, and it adds to my protein intake for the day.  If you want to know more info, feel free to message me.

Find out if you have a GNC store nearby. They carry a good variety and can help you figure out what would work best for you. You definately are on the right track. I regularly use whey protein shakes to supplement my diet, but i'm a guy and not sure what is best for women.
I usually drink a shake post-workout - Optimum Nutrition Double Rich Chocolate flavor.  One scoop has 24 g of protein.  I blend it with a half a banana and some low fat milk.  I find liquid nutrition post-workout easist to take, as I'm usually not hungry but know I need to refuel!  It all adds up to about 250 calories, but I usually burn more than that working out, and just figure it into my daily allowance.

Increasing the amount of protein you eat (or drink) is not going to contribute to a woman's bulking.  Testosterone would be the trigger to that, I believe!
