I haven't gone shopping for clothes since I started all of this two months ago. So far, I have lost over 35 pounds. I have been wearing clothes that I outgrew over the last few years, but I am running out of those now too. So, I decided I would go to the mall just to see what size I am now. I found a pair of jeans identical to the last pair I bought, except instead of them being a size 26 they were a 22. Off to the change room I went, but on the way I spotted a sweater and grabbed it to try on as well. In the change room I was about to put on the jeans and - you know the feeling, looking down at them as you are about to put your leg in them and KNOWING that they won't fit? Well, guess what: THEY FIT!!! I was so shocked about how much smaller they were than the other pair! WOOHOO!!! And I looked SO much better in them than in the loose, baggy pair I have been wearing.
Then there was the sweater. Did I mention that I got it from the REGULAR clothes department, NOT the plus size dept? Granted, it was an XL and it is stretchy, but still...the regular size dept!!! To my surprise - IT FIT TOO!!! It was so nice to wear something form-fitting rather than boxy. I'm tired of baggy clothes that don't show any of my shape off at all.
I couldn't help myself - I bought them both...figured I deserved it! Then, at the checkout, it turned out that the jeans were on clearance and only cost me $6.75, and the sweater, $19, so $28 including tax and I've got my first new me outfit. I can't wait until work on Monday to show it off!
Wow! That's wonderful! I can't wait till I can buy clothes and not cry from seeing how big the size is!(true story... every time. ) Very happy for you dear!
Bubbles!!!
Oh I am so happy for you..on the sale and the smaller sizes. I can't wait to be in that position again and reading all these great stories really keeps me motivated. That and my SO is sooo supportive and its great to have that!
I can't wait to hear your next big step.
Hugs**
Wow Bubbles, 2 sizes and 35 pounds down, I'd definitely say that you deserved the new outfit. And to boot they were on sale! Keep up the great work, you're helping to keep me motivated!
