Hi All...new CC-er here! I'm a visual person and I love seeing the kind of progress vetrans have made on this site. I've posted my weight log chart in my gallery and I'd love to see how other folks are doing. Here's how to do it:
1. View your chart
2. Right click your mouse and choose "save picture as"
3. Title it _*anything*__.bmp and save it to your desktop
4. Upload the pic on CC like you would your other pics
5. Give me a shout-out so I can peak at your progress
CHEERS!
If i gain weight i just don't log it anymore XD
I'll go save mine in my gallery! i love it at the moment cause i lost 2 pounds this week lol.
cellilitedelight: I totally read ya on that one. Way to rob any joy when the the scale actually surprises you! Jeeze! What do you mean I didn't actually loose 2 lbs since last night?!?!
restless_girl: I love the title of your chart. Looks like you're on a good path now. Keep it up and thanks for sharing!
pgeorgian: Thanks for sharing too. You've made some great progress! Those spikes are always frustrating but once the picture gets bigger it'll just look like one smooth slope...downhill :)
Mines there...
I posted mine. I have loved this visual as well
woah, Jchaitin your log looks so consistant lol.
Best way to do it.
Makes mine look crazy.
I've been amazingly lucky with this. I am not sure why but I don't question a good thing... Of course now I reach more plateaus, but my weight either stays the same or dips a bit. I have been very good about eating good foods and exercising, so I guess that's the ticket.
Hi jchaitin, your weight loss is amazing, well done!!! You have to share your weight loss secrets :)
restlessgirl, you too have lost so much weight, congrats!
makingitcount44, jezkah13 & pgeorgian you have all done so well and are well on your way to amazing success!
Mine is in my profile or you can click HERE but I have been gaining lately so it isn't as pretty as it used to be when I had made my goal! It also does not include the 10 lbs I lost before I started calorie count (I was at 130 one year ago).
jchaitin: Wow, your chart is incredible! Your before and after pics are amazing too...you look great! Congrats. That's very inspiring! I have to admit, when I first looked at your graph I was like "what? she only weighs 65 lbs?!?" Then I realized it was in kg ![]()
nycgirl: I thought yours was in kg too but then I saw how tiny you are. Being a giant myself, I'm always jealous of folks like you who can get all the cute stuff on the clearance racks
. Congrats on your great progress too! P.S. I LOVE the other graphs on your profile too. I'm a researcher so I love all the data! I think I'll copy you once I get more days under my belt.
Happy to share mine. Only half way there, maybe. Slight set back a while ago when I got a new scale and found my old one was 7+/- lbs out. Eeek maybe that means my original weight was even more than I thought. Anyway, happy with progess and hoping to keep it going this year. This weekend has been a bust though. Almost no computer access and away on vacation. Skiing anyway will burn off loads of calories so I shouldn't gain in any event.
I started this life change because in May of last year I was diagnosed with diabetes. That was after already having high cholestrol and high blood pressure. I decided that I was done killing myself.
I went on a very strict, no sugar , low fat diet (I am also vegetarian). So what I eat isn't really for everyone, but it is VERY healthy and it has worked for me. I almost exclusively whole wheats (breads, rice, pasta), LOTS of vegetables, drink LOTS of water, 1 - 2 pieces of fruit a day, 2 low fat (0 - 1.5%) yogurts, almonds, beans (for protein), eggs about 4 times a week. I actually eat quite a bit throughout the day (something diabetics are supposed to do to keep blood sugar balanced - good for everyone), but almost never eat after 6pm (because I'm not hungry in the evening/night - my hungry hours are in the day). I walk very briskly intermixed with some 'dancing' arm movements at least once a day - for between 35 - 45 minutes, and sometimes, sometimes I get in a second walk as well. In addition, I take every opportunity I can to go up and down stairs, hop on my bicycle to run an errand, work in the garden etc. That is, I move around a lot during the day, which also helps the weight loss
This is my 'trick' - no trick - a lot of hard work, but I LOVE the way I feel and my health is now wonderful. No more cholestrol, no more high BP, no more diabetes.
I really am convinced that if I could do this, others can do it as well (you saw my before pictures).
wishing you all the best of success. Your dedication will pay off!
Jez, good idea. It's great to see other people's progress. Def. motivational. I posted mine. It's very sloooooow progress, but progress none the less.
Just looked at others' charts. Great work, folks! And yes, jchaitin's chart is the smoothest thing I have ever seen. (Mine looks smoother than it should because I didn't tend to post small regains on a daily basis, only if they lasted longer than a couple of days - whereas every little drop got posted. Found it more motivating that way.)
posted. I'm on monthlong plateau number 3, bah!
I started by logging once a week, then moved to daily, which is why the line gets jaggier when I started to log daily. Same pattern, though. Lose 8 pounds, stay at new weight for a month, lose another 5, pause for another month.
As you can see by mine... my weight goes up and down every day. You can also see that I only lose about 2 pounds a month... but that has added up to 14 pounds since October!
Added mine--since I don't have any photos to share, this at least gave me something other than that question mark as my avatar!
Lots of excellent progress here--WTG!
HERE is my weight log chart ... 91 pounds in 7 months.
=^..^= MOLLY
This seems to happen when people change a lot of habits all at once, I suspect. Congrats to you both for your steady, impressive losses! I look forward to hearing about your steady, impressive maintenances too. :)
I am amazed by the charts you all have provided. They are quite beautiful. There are a lot of serious people out there taking care of themselves. Very, very good work indeed.
