In reality, celebrities have a host of personal chefs, personal trainers, plastic surgeons, a whole lot of air brushing... and a lot of drugs.  If you saw her up close I'm more than positive you wouldn't want to look anything like her.

Oh yes, I agree with serajoe - You don't know what other factors there may be in the process of her losing weight. Hey, who has time to dance 8 hours a day, unless you're an aerobics instructor?

I wish I had a chef, but I am SO THRILLED to have found this tool! I suddenly feel like I can DO this weight loss thing. Plus, because I am becoming so familiar with the foods I'm eating (weighing and seeing the calories) I am sure that I will have the ability to keep it off.

She's damaging her body and it obvious. Look at these recent photos: http://www.skinnyvscurvy.com/hollywood-moms/b ritney-spears-shows-beach-figure-pink-bikini. html

Skinny fat and untoned, that's the body of a crash dieter.

Hey soupcanx,

How can she be "skinny fat"? I don't get it.

I think she looks great in those pink bikini pictures.

I'd rather be skinny fat than fat fat.

Is it just me or is "skinnyfat" just another layer of insecurity to add to the whole weight issue?  If you're overweight, you need to lose weight.  When you're slim, you need to be toned.  Once your bodyfat is down to nil you have no breasts, so you need implants.  Etc etc etc.

Britney Spears is one of the most amazing women ever, IMO. Pop princess at 17, leapt over drama and bounced back to top the charts with her 2 new comeback albums after drug abuse issues, two divorces, and all the while nursing two baby boys. Who can say that is not admirable? I love britney to death and I'm so proud of her for getting her body back. O.K, so she's not as smokin' hot as she was when she was 18 ... but she's trying so hard, and she's getting there!!

I love Britney and I'm so proud of her ... and I will defend her 'till the death!!! Anyone who has a problem with Britney can 'If you seek Amy!' Tongue out

Oh... and to actually add to the discussion. Don't forget that tabloid pictures of her when she was 'FAT' were probably airbrushed just as much :)

According to the magazine,

Moral of the tale is be very sceptical about what you read in the newspapers.  Wouldn't be a good story if the publicist told the press that Britney had lost weight slowly by eating sensibly and exercising safely....  which is probably what's actually happened.

Have you considered that either Ms. Spears or the magazine are lying?  Writers make things up all the time to sell magazines.

I was in Walmart other night and I noticed a magazine with an ariticle on how Brittany Spears got "her body back". I admit she looks great so I was curious on how she did it.

According to the magazine, her spokes people said she maintains a diet of 1000 - 1200 calories a day and dances anywhere from 2 to 8 hrs a day!! Burning 300 calories an hr. Now how come when I try doing this I feel sick and have no energy, but for her it's working?? Has anyone ever tried what shes doing and it actually work?? Or is it just a celebrity thing? lol

Because you are a completely different person. Just becasue something works for someone does not mean it will work for you.

You can be skinny BMI-wise but lack in muscle (and thus have a surplus of body fat). Becuase she crash dieted her body ate away at her muscles.

And for the record I don't dislike her, I feel bad that she is going from one extreme diet (junk food all day) to another extreme (borderline anorexic.)

I agree!

I have never really liked her all that much, but I must admit that she did start out with an amazing body. Now, however, after all that she has been through (and I suspect it was not all of her own making, poor thing) she has been trying so hard...

All this crash-dieting that celebrities are wont to do, with the plastic surgery & all (look what it did to Michael Jackson, eh?) ...I would not give you two figs for any of it.

I feel sorry for her, too, but I have to give her kudos for trying as hard as she does...and pray to God for her to stay well & focus on her career & her sons. She needs that in her life, and I wish her all the best.

I totally agree. I think she looks fine - especially for a mother of two! Cut the lady a break. Obviously us women will never be perfect unless we are skinny, toned - but not too toned or muscly - and have all the right proportions too.

I am not saying she needs to be perfect. The OP was feeling envious that Britney got skinny from crash dieting and I'm just saying the body of a crash dieter is not going to look as good as the body of a healthy dieter. Throwing away healthy muscles just to be a size 2 doesn't sound appealing to me. Undereating and overworking oneself- that's how yo-yo dieting happens. I refuse to applaud anyone who's going to brag about eating 1,100 calories a day when we all know she'd be better off with at least 1,800 (or more.) And once agian, I am not a Britney hater, I just wish people wouldn't admire her for her diet.

/rant.

It was if any one on this site had been successful with living on 1000 to 1200 calories  and how were they able to maintain exercising while on such a low calorie in take and have energy...thats all I wanted to know...other peoples experiences with it.

Define "success."  I'm loathe to talk about this here, but I'll give you the DL on my 3 months starving.  It's NOT a pretty story.

1.  I was not in a good place mentally, and it's taken me nearly a YEAR to admit to it.

2.  I had weight to lose, for sure.

3.  I'd just moved thousands of miles from home and knew no one in my new college.

These are my excuses, but not my reasons (if that makes sense).

I set up a strict "points system."  Basically, the goal was to eat 800 calories (or less), exercise off 800 / 3 times per week (at least), and do situps and strength stuff the other days. (Also included were "drink 8 glasses of water" and "do homework and study" also ironically "eat healthily.")  Most days I didn't hit many of my goals, but I'd always get close.

It's easy if you attribute the blackouts to dehydration - just up your water intake to 10 glasses per day.

It's easy if you don't mind a dip in your grades - just tell your parents to cut you some slack, it's your first semester in college after all.  (Really, you're too zonked out all the time to concentrate, too obsessed with your weight to care)

It's easy if you pump yourself full of the max dose of hydroxycut each day - the caffiene can help when it feels like you're about to fall over, and it pushes you to the gym because you can't sleep at night.  So what if your liver gives out?

I'm sure I could think of some more scary things to tell you, but it's tiring.  I dropped from 175 (ish- never weighed) to 140 from september through november.  5'7".  It's not even that impressive of a loss.  I wish I could tell you that I gained it all back or that I lost all my muscle, but I haven't.  Weighed in this morning at 139.2, a normal flux.  What it did do is "ruin" me for normal dieting.  It's hard for me to do anything in moderation now, so I haven't really budged the scale since last year.

She doesn't look skinny fat and untoned to me. She looks human, like a mother of two children who is getting her body back. Her arms have definition, but what? She has some cellulite on her backside? Or do you say skinny fat because she has curves? She may be lying about how she did it or she may have really done it that way, IDK. But I don't see skinny fat and I am NOT a Britney fan.

If I stepped out of the house and looked as good as she does in a tiny bikini, I'd be thrilled.

She looks great.

*sigh*

I already explained it,but if you want to applaud a crash dieter go ahead.

And skinny fat =/= curves. Skinny fat is what you get when you starve yourself and rid yourself of muscles to reach a low weight.

Am I the only person who seriously doesn't care? Really, I just don't see what difference it makes. Maybe she crash dieted. Maybe she didn't. Either way, it's not my body.

"LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!!!!!!"

Tongue out
