She's so clingy!

Vodka has become increasingly clingy the past week.  I don't know if she just misses her sister or if she thinks we need the extra attention, but she's starting to get annoying!

If I'm on my computer, she has to be, too.  She'll try to sit on it or paw at the keys, sometimes ripping them off as I try to pry her away.  She's always trying to crawl up me and lay on my shoulders if I'm on the sofa at all.  Even when we sit down for a meal in the kitchen, there she is, at the table, waiting for us to start chowing down so she can climb up and start eating our food with us.

I keep her laser light at my side now just to distract her and have her run away from me so I can get a few moments of peace.  It worked for a few days, but now she knows once she can't find it she can just run back to me, hunt for it, and I'll send her away again.

I'm going nuts!

are you sick or streesed CD? Maybe she is trying to make you feel better? Aww she loves you

At first i thought this was an alcohol realted issue! well since it's your cat I won't say go to AA! haha! 

Anything change in your house??  I notice cats get really clingy when there's new things going on that they are not used to, whether it be new people or new furniture

She doesn't know what happened to Whiskey.

Maybe she is wondering if you are getting rid of her next and is trying to make sure that you love her.  Just take some time to play with her.

Sid loved to type on the keyboard.  Half of my entries always had his 2 cents on it.  And he loved watching the cat videos on you tube.

I blame Alex.  She wasn't so interested our computers until she saw pictures of Whiskey on his.

yeah did I miss something? What happened to whiskey? I know she was sick but I must have missed a thread??

You named your daughters Vodka and Whiskey and they have paws?

Ahh, safe at work, away from the clingy kitty.  My hands still burn from where she scratched me, though.

Moly, it's kind of hard for the rest of us to follow what's going on when we only get half the story.

I don't remember you posting anything about what happened to Whiskey.

Have you lost more weight Moly? Your face has definitely thinned out. Love your pictures. You look like a 1940's pin-up girl.

There's a product called Sticky Paws.  It's sheets of sticky paper that you can put on surfaces so that cats will avoid jumping up - they hate it.  It really does work.  You could put it on the edges of the desk. 

Your cat may need more stimulation.  Have you tried a set time for interactive play with her chasing something on a string?  those fishpole toys are good for that.  There's one called Da Bird that is irresistable.  Bubba does much better if we play for 15 minutes in the evening.  I turn down the lights and he chases mousies until I let him catch them and rip out their guts with his hind legs.  Then I feed him.  This is what my vet said to do because it mimics the cat's nocturnal hunting instincts.  He hasn't been a pest at night since we started doing this. 

I, specifically, don't play with Vodka every single day because sometimes I'm gone for two or three days, only home long enough to take a shower and a quick nap.  When I am home, I wear her out with the laser light so she'll leave me alone.  I bought more catnip today, too.  She doesn't go for toy mouses or balls, unfortunately.
