I get mine at whole foods or trader joes, and they also sell them at some Safeway stores. They are by the milk/cheese and other dairy products in the refridgerated section. I love them..I always add promise butter and cheese to make my own mac!!

Good luck finding them, and when you do...bulk up with buying, they are hard to find!

They are usually right next to the tofu in the refrigerated section.  I'd suggest buying one bag and trying them before you stock up.  They're one of those foods that you either love or hate.  (I'm in the latter group - can't stand the texture.)

Ours are in the refrigerated section of the "health food" center.

But, beware!  I can eat soy shakes, soy milk, and tofu with the best of them (yum!) and I eat 25+g of fiber a day, but these noodles caused me violent gastrointestinal distress.  I threw up several times in a 24 hour period and was running to the bathroom for the other end (sorry to be so graphic), too.

Since I've never done that before, and since I've heard stories from others that are similar, I'd suggest trying a very small portion the first time you find them.  Hopefully, you'll be able to stomach them.  They sounded like "miracle" noodles to me, and I was disappointed to have reacted to them that way.  Good luck!  :)

I finally tried these today after hearing so much a/b them!...I have to say, while I love all things tofu and soy and well, everything!...I did NOT like these noodles:/ They also gave me a bad stomach 'writestuff'!  I was so bummed b/c I had finally found them haha but hey go ahead and try them, I think trying to make a speghetti was a bad choice so I might try the mac n cheese, that way it's saltier.

My local Meijers has them in the vegan/vegetarian cooler  with the brick tofu, tabouleh and sprouts.  They are $1.99 per package. The noodles are in a 12oz plastic bag with water.  They do need to be kept refrigerated.

House Foods is the brand Meijer's carries. They come in  Fettucini, spaghetti and angle hair styles.  We also have Trader Joe's and Whole Foods a few towns over and they have them.  I have not found them at Food 4 less or the Jewel.

I think that Whole Foods and Trader Joe's may also carry the ones without the tofu.  I was researching online and the overall recommendation is to get the tofu coated ones as they are not as rubbery as the plain shirataki.

According to what I've read, some of the small, independent oriental grocers may also carry them.

We have not had any stomach or other problems at all with these noodles.  I haven't used real pasta in 4 weeks and Hubby eats pasta 3 x a week!  I have even substituted out the regular elbow noodles in his mac n cheese for the fettucini style- He hasn't noticed the difference and I am not telling him he is eating tofu!!!! Laughing

I hope you can find some.  I think they are worth it.

Here's how I eat my miracle noodles:

Par-boil them ALWAYS before eating.

Sautee one cup chopped spinach, and one cup mixed chopping veggies (i like peas, corn, and carrot mixtures) with 1/4 cup egg whites and a tsp garlic. Add this mixture to the noodles and top with soy/tamari!

thank you everybody for your responses. i hadnt heard a negative side, so thank you for your honesty. i have a trader joes and whole foods out near work, so i will try a batch. i was looking in giant and acme to no avail, but then realized that i didnt even know where to look!! so thank you all for you help!

i will let you know what the end result is. i hope to pick them up on my work route tomorrow!

I live in a Smallish Canadian city that has like one section of health foods at our grocery stores, although it is actually a pretty big section.

Do you think they would sell these noodles at small Asian Markets? We have a few of those around town.  I have been wanting to try these noodles for so. long.

I have not heard of these noodles - what is special about them?
