Shocking information about weight loss **LQQK INSIDE**
I was just taking some measurements to you know, brighten my day (
) and started thinking about this forum.
I've seen a million "how big is your (body part) and what size do you wear?" threads. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: we're all shaped differently.
I know, I was surprised too.
I am the classic (and most hated) apple shape. You women who wear size 4s have the same thigh and hip measurements I do. Lemme tell you something, I ain't no size 4.
There are always threads like "How do I make my legs thinner"? I can will my legs thinner. I just lost a half an inch thinking about this thread. I lost 10lbs recently and lost 1.5 inches off of each thigh. You know how much I lost around the waist? ZERO. I lost ZERO INCHES. My friend can lose .2 lbs and her waist is 4 inches smaller. I hate her.
I could lock myself in a closet without food and water for a month and maybe lose an inch off my waist.
anyway I was just thinking about this on my run today.
i'm built like a boy.
thats what e decade and a half of tumbling will do to ya.

-- THANK YOU!!!
I laughed through this whole thing- I don't know what I am for a shape- My mom laughs at me- I'm the tallest in my family with the shortest legs- the biggest belly- but the most flexible- the heaviest- but with the most endurance- sizes---what the hell are they- the pants thing- gappy backy- droopy booty- saggy thighs- and don't let me forget- the impossible "have to wear high heels to fit lenght wise- I don't wear high heels..
Thanks for the giggles-
sometimes I wish I was apple-shaped... I would kill to have thin legs.
but then I realize I would have to sacrifice my abbs, which have always been tight and toned whatever weight I have been... so it's either one or the other.
point is, you're never going to be 100% happy with your body, there is always going to be that flaw here and there...
love your body for what it does do, and not hate it for what it doesn't
make the most with what you got... confidence is key to looking great whatever shape your in

>>>Try BEING an hourglass who now HAS a belly. Thankfully it still curves in on the sides but pooches out in the front. If I don't get this in control Im'a gonna be a straight line!!!<<<<
raising hand -- That would be me!
I was a lovely hourglass in my teens and early 20s. Then I gained weight and it all went to the belly first. And chest. Until I was just one big tent.
I've lost 55 pounds, and the hourglass that was buried under fat for so many years, is finally re-emerging. A bit.
you got my point...

I should add the apple also looks man-shaped when thin. My hips are thin and I have no waist so the apple then becomes a ruler.
ROFL, I'm sorry for laughing, but this is SO me. We have the same shape, same issues. When I was younger and thinner, I had a short hair cut and was always getting called "Sir."
Although I'm a bit worried about looking like that again, I'm going to lose the weight anyways. I'm tired of being mistaken for being pregnant.

I guess I'm an apple.. And I'm only 19 so I hope it's not related to stress yet! All my weight seems to go to my torso or my boobs.. (But I'm also quite short so my thighs are pretty thick). My bestie has a more proportioned shape and she could always show off her stomach even when we about the same size.. So jealous!
I am an hourglass and while I can't really complain. I do have the problem with pants fitting my ass and being huge in the waist. I find express jeans fit me the very bestest. WTF is with the gosh darn empire waisted styles I see everywhere. I can hardly find a cute shirt anymore that doesn't make me look pregnant...and **** I am not overweight.
i have a foot (yes, that's 12 inches) of difference between my waist and hips, and only like 6 inches difference between my chest and waist. i solve the problem by wearing dresses and skirts as often as possible.
spirochete! i've got a friend who's a total apple shape... she can't wear pants/jeans unless they're cut really well to suit her shape, BUT she looks absolutely fab in dresses, skirts, (which i can't wear) and well selected tops. (: she says that it's a matter of dressing to suit her shape, since she has conceded that no amount of dieting will every make her 'slim'. the fashion industry is a conspiracy. they make us think that we have to fit into the clothes that they make, otherwise we're subnormal. =_= well, if you don't fit the cut, then it shows you are not just an 'average statistic'. be proud.
*sigh* hourglass here.. and like the others, the belly thing REALLY gets to me. It is the ONLY thing I see in the mirror and the first thing I notice on others.. I am totally fixated... I do have a nice arse though :) But you know you're right... (I forgot who said it) but I did win the genetic jackpot when it comes to illness in my family.. the worst thing that runs in my family is arthritis.
"My waist is 6" smaller than my hips so you can imagine how pants and shorts fit - THEY DON'T."
I'd LOVE to have a waist 6" smaller than my hips, my waist is 25 inches whilst my hips are 36! (I'd preferably like to lose 5" off the hips than gain 5 on the waist though
)
Yay, I don't feel like such a weirdo anymore with my 27.5 inch waist and 39 inch hips! Looks like I'm in good company here. "Child-bearing hips"? You betcha! 5 of the little beauties!
I've found that Wrangler boot cut jeans fit me the best, at least my butt/hips can fit in them and they don't gape at the waist, LOL!
And I LOVE the bell comment, that's me too... hardly any boobs. ![]()
Well... now I am not feeling so bottom heavy anymore either thanks Colorado sunshine! Looks like there are a few bells around here. Me... 26/27 inch waist, 37.5-38 inch hips (all depends on the point in my cycle when i measure them, I tend retain water quite a bit no matter how good I eat and how much water I drink!).
Funny enough I used to be a D cup (DD when I was Bfing), but it seems that the "fat" just likes to fly right off my chest and I am now a B cup! If this keeps up I will be an A cup in no time.
I have a pair of size 8 Levi 515 bootcut petites that fit me quite well. I used to wear size 8 american eagle bootcuts and those were also good. The other thing I found that works is jeans with spandex in them, I think those are one of the best inventions for the ladies blessed with "birthing hips." I have a pair from old navy that I just love.
LOL yep greener grass....as I have been reading these posts I got jealous because other then the tummy that I am wanting to lose I was hopeing I would lose some chest to.....and I did...atleast around I went from a 38DDD to a 34DDD....hmm not quite what I was looking for.....
now I'm more of a pear (hourglass when I wear my really good expensive Victoria's Secret padded push-up bra, ahaha). I don't mind, but it's a pain when to have to wiggle a pair of pants over your thighs/hips and then have them gap at the waist.
and of course, weight sticks to my thighs the most. I got my mother's hips and my dad's height. lol, not only pear-shaped, but short! best of both worlds, I guess you could say. and my legs are like strangely muscular in some areas. I don't mind my body "type" per se, just the amount of extra weight on it.
The lessons in life, that I learned from a dressing room stall and my husband. No woman ever likes the way she looks ever. No matter how big or little she is. Not until someone she loves dearly with all of her heart, makes her stand there naked with the light on and tells her everything he loves about her and never once finds anything bad to say.
For the record, Im an hour glass girl who is 5 foot 4, no waist, way to much boob and butt. So much boob that my boobs are trying to relocate themselves to my under arms and so much butt that its trying to catch up with my horrifically thick legs. I have tennis player legs which I find funny because, I can't play tennis to save my life.
But, I know in the morning when Hubby gets up for work, he will take one look at me and say "Damm your beautiful. I always love the way you look when you have just woken up from a dream and still have that soft sleepy look to your face." And I know that at the end of the day, no matter how tired either of us are, he will be trying to get into my pants, with the lights on so "he can look at me".
Of course that has its down side. I got up to 195 lbs because he kept telling me how beautiful I was. I only started losing the weight because, my father died and I didn't want to die before I was 60 the way he did.
sounds like you got a good one, ladykelien. Since I've lost some weight, my husband keeps asking where my boobs went and if I can get them back.
BTW, I've lost 40 lbs and my hips have gone down one, single solitary inch. I'm blaming it all on muscle.
