year 2009, short girls aiming to lose 20-30 LBS
so due to all the end-of-year celebrations. I've gained tons of pounds.
I'm 5'2 at 131.12LBS (59.6kg)
aiming to lose 25 pounds to reach my happy weight.

I put my new info(amount I weigh) in the calorie meter and now it says I should eat 1300 calories a day instead of the 1400 a day that I started with. Does anyone know why and if this is accurate.

It's because the smaller you are the less calories you burn. One of the few downsides of losing weight.
Ok thanks for the info. I think I will start burning more calories so I don't have to lessen my calorie intake. I have a treadmill but it is so boring. Anyone have any ideas how to liven things up with a treadmill workout.
That's a good idea. It doesn't take long to burn that extra 100 calories. When I first started I could lose weight eating 1500 cals and being basically sedentary, but now I only burn around 1650 cals a day on sedentary. I'm under 21 so I'm not supposed to eat less than 1500 so I have to add more exercise if I want to keep losing at a good pace.
This isn't really answering the question you asked, but I find outdoor exercise way more interesting than indoor. Maybe you could try that. The weather has been terrible where I live and I miss going for bike rides. It's been thunderstorming almost every day this summer so I haven't been able (or at least willing) to do it in weeks.
hey everyone, it's friday and time for our weekly weigh-ins.
the scale this morning said... 142 and still dropping. I was at my all time high of 155 when I started calorie count on June 8. I feel much better now than I did then even though I haven't reached my goals yet, I know that I'm well on my way. Also want to share that I quit smoking on May 18 of this year. I am 34 years old and I smoked for 22 years. Since quitting smoking and losing weight I am starting to feel GREAT :)

it goes up and down so much! ah well at least the trend is that i'm losing weight. in what must be the slowest time possible.

Had my period this week, maybe that's why no progress. Been having a hard time controlling what I eat. I was also off from work this past week, so I think the change in routine has put me in a funk also...excuses, excuses...
Hey, I joined in on a "spinning" class this evening. Wow! What a workout. I wasn't even keeping up with the rest of the class (they were like, standing and peddling for 4 minutes at a time--my legs couldn't take it!). It was a 50 minute class... I was sweating like a pig anyway, so I know I was still getting a good workout. I might try that again sometime. I hope you all are doing well!

I'm in if it is not too late. I will be getting married June 5, 2010. I NEED to lose weight. I am 5'0 on the dot and currently weigh 177. I really gained a lot of weight over the last few years after graduation. I would love to lose 25 lbs. by November and I need to motivation to get me there. I started this week with 40 minutes on the elliptical in the morning and 2 mile walk during lunch (5 days week). I am on 1,200 calorie diet. I hope I am getting enough calories in with the activity I am doing at the same time. Any suggestions? My goad weight would be 1
130 lbs. by May 2010. Is 40 lbs doable in 10 months? any suggestions or help would be great!

I suppse it's never too late to start! I'm 5'2 and 52.5kg (115ish pounds i think). I would love to lose about 5-10 pounds, before beach season... only 3 months away! I also wanna look like a knock-out for my 21st B-day which is only 3 and 1/2 months away... these last few pounds i just can't seem to budge! i hope CC can help!

Aug 14th: 145 Hi, I almost forgot to post for this past Friday...busy last part of the week and weekend. I've been able to get more exercise in over the past few weeks and I bought a pedometer. I heard walking 10,000 steps a day makes for optimal health. Wow! That seems like a lot and I'm sure I can't get all those steps in one day, unless I go for a walk. I hope you all are doing well.
