Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+)
Hey everyone,
I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.
So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.
So how about it?
I find it really hard to log on weekends eating times and everything varies so greatly with not being on a schedule like during the week. That tom for me as well so we will see what the scale says on weight in day. Anyone have any ductape for my mouth, salty and crunchy things i crave right now. The weight machine and elliptical machine call me name but I can't seem to listen. Hopefully everyone had a good weekend :)
OMG OMG... I was just reminded that tomorrow is weigh in day and here I am eating POPCORN!!!! Oh mother of all water retaining emergency! lol ahhhhhhhhhh...
On a more serious note I am soooooo excited. I just scheduled my GYN appointment for January. My GYN is the person that told me my weight was an issue with my health when I weighed 230+ and I sort of credit her with turning on the light bulb in my head about getting healthy. Well by the time January gets here I should be right at 29.9 BMI, weighing 140.5 or below . I guess the reason I am excited is because I believe I am going to get there and she was one of the people that expressed I should.
Wanted to share! :)
cw 152.2 down 1.2 from the last weigh in.
July 23~ 177.4
Last week~ 174
This week~ 171.8
Oh hot damn, this is my jam..lol feeling good today! Good wishes for low numbers today!
TW:203.0!!!!!!!!!!! woot!...sorry! lol
Super excited since I did zero forms of excercise this week and didnt eat my best either.
Hope you all have a great day!
Last week: 195.6
This week: 193.4!!
I'm excited! I've lost almost 15 pounds. It's my TOM so I'm hoping next week will be even better.
Way to go everybody! Have a great week!
Wow! Everyone's doing so well, congratulations!
I like what halizabeth did, so I think I'll play copycat....
July 23rd: 185.2
Last week: 182.6
This week: 179.6
Yay! And the double good news is that I've been holding strong in the 179s for the past 4 days, so I think (hope, pray) I might be done with the 180s for good!
Other than one minor cheat night, I've been really good with my calorie intake all week. Now if I can just make it through this next week without breaking down and eating bad "convenience" foods (pizza/Chinese take-out, etc.), I'll be doing good. We have to have my boyfriend completely out of his apartment and into mine by Sunday, so things are a little crazy right now. I must STAY FOCUSED!
Sympathies to all those on TTOM. I'll be in your place next week, grrr.
Aug 20: 189
Today: 188.5 if I chose to go the fraction route...
*sigh* I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I haven't worked out quite as much (period this past weekend), but I didn't think I was that bad...
SW - 166.8
8/20 - 167.8
Today - 167.6
I am just about tired of this. On Friday I was at 166.4 and thought I'd break through to 165 this week, but alas, I am mid-cycle and retaining water, not to mention I was craving salt yesterday and had the dreaded RAMEN NOODLES! LOL!!! I've got two bottles of water on my desk waiting for my undivided attention.
Congrats to all who loss! Keep up the good work. Keep pushing for those who stayed steady or gained a bit.
Last Week: 171
This Week: 172.2
Oops! I SO should have seen 170 today (because I saw it yesterday) but I went out with my ball team last night and definitely over indulged. Beer, yummy flatbread, fries, etc....and then I downed a litre and a half of water before going to bed. I know I shouldn't have eaten like that, especially before weigh in day, but I had FUN so I'm not going to feel guilty or anything. If I keep myself in check over the next couple days I bet I'll be right back down. No harm, no foul!
Good job to everyone else though!
And krilia - you still lost half a pound! There is no need to feel discouraged!
Morning everyone!
July 23rd - 167
Last week - 165
Today - 163.2
Hmmm.. looking at the numbers I see I'm not losing very much per month... That's about 4 lbs per month and I was really hoping for just a couple more... I will have to revise my plan and see where I can improve. Hope everyone has a great rest of their week and keep up the great work!!

Thanks for the encouragement. :)
This weekend, I'm heading out to a weekend medieval event, and I don't anticipate calories will be a big deal: my husband and I are cooking one of the feasts so I know I won't eat much that day! I'm actually a really picky eater, so I find myself eating bread and butter and cheese at many of these fancy feasts anyway. As long as I remember the numbers on each of those, I should be okay. :) (Now, beverages are frequently an issue though. Fruit punch, gatorade, lemonade, none of it low calorie... could I have some Just Plain Water?)

It is yet again that tom this weight in so I was suprised that I lost anything this week. Struggling this week to keep on task. Doesnt help that my stove broke down and the new one isnt being delivered till Friday so how am i too cook, guess bbq in the pouring rain it is. I reallly need to get motivated and work out more. Kids are back in school next week maybe things wont be so crazy
Keep up the good work everyone!

You may see your great-great-great-grandchildren someday, you might have to be 90, but it is possible! :)
On another note I am starting a personal challenge, which I did post a thread for under games & challenges Back to school ~ Back to walking SEPTEMBER Challenge. It is walking each school morning for the month of September. I am going to count my steps/mileage too. If anyone wants to join me I am officially starting on September 1 with the logging, but I really started today with the walking since it was the first day of school here! Yeah for my house..lol
OK everyone, I have a confession to make. I had sesame chicken with white rice tonight for supper. I'm sure the amount of sodium is enough to kill me, but I was craving it so bad. I haven't had this in at least 3 weeks. I hope my body doesn't decide to revolt! Now I feel better. Bye![]()
Last week - 198 This week - 194.6
Better =) Guess last week was because it was my TOM or ??? Anyway, I'm back at work now and it is much more difficult to stay on track, avoid the treats that are inevitably present and not stress-eat which can be a downfall of mine. Hmmm I might need my mini-goal to include only treating one time in the week at work and one time at home. We'll see how it goes.
Once again...looks like I'm last!
SW - 199
GW - 145
7/30 172.2
8/22 167.8
8/27 168.0 up .2 lbs since Friday ![]()
I guess that's not bad considering I had a pretty bad wkend(calorie-wise anyway). Ate at a BBQ joint for lunch Sat (I'm sure it was sodium heavy), had Scheel's fudge Sat evening (and bought some to bring home!) had M&M's and fudge on Sun! Chocolate has always been my comfort food, I didn't go hog wild though, kept good portion control. lol
I noticed there were only a couple of us who gained instead of loosing! That's fantastic!
mrsmao - 2.2 lbs- you must be doing something right! Don't fret the chinese(sodium);drink lots of water, at least 64 oz - if not more and add fresh lemon(squeeze the fruit and the rind) to your water. It should help you flush the sodium out of your system faster. I'm very sodium sensitive and this seems to help me. Also, make healthier choices the rest of the week. ![]()
beckabooey; chantale1985; new_2_me - yahoo!! 3 lbs or more in 1 wk! AWESOME!!
krilia and meekalo - you both had loss not gain this week, count your blessings, keep going strong, you can do it! Same water advice as mrsmao.
halizabeth - great idea, count me in. I will start tomorrow, will walk with my Springer Spaniel, Samantha Louise. She'll love it! I was walking her on a regular basis, don't know why I quit, oh yeah, I got lazy!! ![]()
Everyone is doing great! I am so glad to see so many of us still hanging in there. I'm also thankful for the support and encouragement.
mini goal - 165 by next week - I know I can do it!! I need to stay focused and keep my eye on the prize; what was it someone said awhile back? Momma needs a new pair of jeans !?! lol
Wish me luck! Hope everyone has a great holiday wkend!
Hey Guys! I'm last instead of first this week!
LW 169
TW 169
Arrgghhh! I did see 167.5 for three days running this week, but then I was weak and played drinking snakes and ladders (causing a two day hangover - only students should pour all the different drinks in one glass then down it.... I am an idiot and my brain is paying for it in headaches) and made home-made macaroni cheese with bacon and leeks and enough cheese for a family of four in each portion! So I can't complain, I feel like I've puffed up like a balloon! Hopefully next week I'll have a big dip because of it.
Glad to see everyones doing to well, and much sympathy to the people who gained, just keep working at it!
My goal for next week - 167, and to have less than 1600 for at least four days, and no more than 1800 any day.
