Hey everyone,

I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.

So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.

So how about it?

I suck this week. I blame my TOM. My plan is to not completely blow it on the weekend, but I'm not going to try that hard. Come Monday I'll be picking it back up again, hopefully. Have a good one everyone!

Hi, I know this is a closed thread but I've read the entire thing from start to finish and I wondered if you could squeeze one more in? The support and motivation you guys give each other is fantastic.

I'm 30, 5'1" and from the UK. I'm currently on around 174.something (stepped on the scales this morning 3 times, one after the other and got 174.4, 174.2 and 174.6 ??). My lowest ever weight was around 96. Not sure what my goal weight is other than I want to be a small uk Size 8 again and actually have some self confidence!

I am being good this week but the scale had gone up to 170 and it won't budge down! I know, I know, daily fluctuations, but it is not motivating. I guess the stupid student drinking games are still taking their toll on me....

Hi, linz78.  Our stats are close... I'm 32, 5'1", about 179lbs.  Our scales must be very indecisive cousins.  Darn things.

Lynners, I feel ya.  I'm about to start PMS-ing hardcore.  I can tell because my knees buckle under the enormous weight of my boobies when I take off my bra.  (Er... I hope that wasn't TMI.)

I just want to eat everything in sight.  And since mrsmao did a confessional, I will too.  I did eat everything in sight last night.  Cry  A 4-egg omelette (1 egg, 3 whites) with veggies, ham, and mozzarella (484 calories).  Along with half a pita (80) and then a handful of Sun Chips (140).  Two pints of Boddington's Pub Ale (394) - have I no shame at all?  And then - because I still hadn't done enough damage - I added a Mrs. Fields/Breyer's Ice Cream Cookie (190).  YIKES.  Ended my day at 2,166 calories, oh. my. god.  3,000 mg of sodium!!!  I was up a pound this morning to 180.6 (GARRR, the 180s will not go away!).

I'm trying to feel remorseful here.  I really am.  But it's hard to feel remorseful when you finally wake up in the morning and discover that you're not chewing the corner of your pillow out of hunger.

Anyway... Happy Labor Day Weekend for the fellow Americans.  I'm going to try to keep myself from totally splurging, but I think that's the most I can promise right now.  Everyone has a great weekend.

lol crazy is the new black 169 is a defining moment for me, it is the line between the obese me and the overweight me.  I am so looking forward to being just overweight!  :) 169 is also my next lottery number!  Can this day get any better?  I know, I know some of you want to just reach right through the computer and smack the silly out of me.. but not-uh, ain't gonna let you rain on my parade, steal my thunder or stop the lightening from striking me twice.   I am on fire.

Well I was getting tired of my old pants with the loss of 33lbs since I started.  I was wearing size 20 pants.  I went looking for my smaller pants size which I had to dust off as they were hanging in the closet for soo long.  I must have every size of pants from 20-6 hanging in there.  Well I can officailly squeeze into my 14 jean capri pants woot :D.  Mind you I will stick to my 16 pants for comfort but it is a big step in the right direction.  Have 2 birthdays this week with ice cream cake lets hope I can resist.

Hi all!!  Well, I finally broke the 15 lbs. mark today!! I was at 192.6!!!!!  It's been a long time since I've been here.  Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend.  Today may be a challenge for me because we're having company and my sister-in-law is baking lasagna.  My husband (who is a wonderful cook) baked peach cobbler and cherry crisp.  But, I plan on measuring out 1 cup of Lasagna and about 1/2 cup of cobbler and crisp.  I'm going for my walk on the treadmill and I'll drink tons of water.  Thanks for being here to help me get control of my eating and keep me motivated. Smile

holsfisher, people ask me why drinking isn't ok when you diet, I can refer them to you now..lol  As for the Mac & Cheese THAT is something I have to really dig deep to find the will to keep away from, esp. if bacon was in it.  My mom used to put pepperoni in hers.

Pbear I also have clothes that fit now and are like new because I didn't wear them long.  It's kind of a good thing now that I didn't wear them long so now I don't have to buy new ones to just get by temporarily since I still plan to use about 40 pounds.

I had a get together today, but I did great with eating.  I stayed in my calorie allotment and still was able to get in a small piece of cake.. Bad news is I made the cake and it came back home with us..lol... will power don't fail me now!  Still looking for 169, saw 170.2 this morning, so fingers crossed for it to show up over the next couple days.  :)

 

Hey everyone!

I know this is closed, but I was hoping you could squeeze me in?  I'm 20 years old and about 5'4".  I'm currently studying abroad in Australia and it was here that I decided I needed to get healthy.  When I left the US about a month and a half ago I was about 172, but I found a really cheap bathroom scale today, weighed myself, and found I was 160!  Haven't seen that in a long time.  I'm exercising everyday too.  I've read this thread all the way through and the way you all support each other is just fantastic and exactly what I need.  I'd really like to get down to about 140 by the time I go home (Dec 17), and my ultimate goal right now is 125 along with some serious self-confidence!

CAKE!  Yes I am eating CAKE. 

lol i am in the same boat tommorow is my grandaughters 2nd birthday so ice cream cake ...  And thursday is my son's 18th birthday more ice cream cake.  Good thing I bought some skinny cow fudge bars lol.  The calories I dont know if i can save that many to have a peice.

I am heading out the door for a morning walk to help offset the cake damage.    I walked last night & now again this morning, however there is still more cake in the house.  Fortunately it is close to TOM and I can always blame that if I get too involved with this yummy chocolate cake still hanging around my house.  I love CAKE! 

Well, I had a fantastic weekend! Just awful food wise. I was at a ball tournament in my boyfriend's home town, and there was a lot of beer and a lot of BBQ. Even though I know I gained, I feel great because my muscles are sore from playing so much! Anyway, I'm up to 173, so by weigh in it would be fantastic to be down to 172, since a lot of this is probably water weight. We'll see though!

P.S. Beckaboey, we call it Labour Day Weekend in Canada too! :)

It sounds like we're all facing temptations but managing to keep our heads in the game.  I'm glad you had such a good weekend, Lynners!  Sounds like you burned a lot of what you ate/drank.  Yum, BBQ and beer.

Halizabeth and Nanette, y'all seriously make me want a piece of cake, haha!  Way to go you two, adding exercise to cover it or picking up yummy alternatives.  With or without the ice cream cake, I hope you enjoy the birthday celebrations this month, Nanette.

Welcome, ocean girl, and way to go on your success so far!  Your goal of 20lbs by mid-December sounds entirely doable.  I've lost 15 since mid-June, and I'm hoping for a loss of 18 more by the end of the year.  We just have to stay dedicated and work hard!

And... alas... THE MOVE IS OVER!  Finished!  Finito!  I feel like a great weight has been lifted.

I don't know how it's possible to eat like I've eaten and maintain, but I was at 180 this morning.  My metabolism might have been lagging a bit.  I think the extreme hunger meant that I was on the edge of a loss, which I guess I've undone by eating more, but I feel much better now and ready to tackle the next few pounds.  Even though I've gone over on calories, I've been careful to log every bite and not eat out.  And I must have burned half of what I ate yesterday with all the scrubbing, mopping, moving, lifting, vacuuming, etc. - about 6 hours total.  Now if I can get through my approaching TOM without doing some serious damage to my boyfriend's tub of Cookies n Cream Ice Cream, I'll be doing good!

Hey all!! I missed the last two weigh ins.....but my scale hasn't moved. I knew I would stop losing while I adjusted to my schedule for school....so I'm okay with that. Had TTOM and ate like a monster...but it didn't reflect on the scale (thank goodness).

Now that I have made it through my first week of law school, I feel like I can get back in a routine so I'm hoping that my our next weigh in (not the one in 2 days, but the one after that) I will have kicked the 250's goodbye forever!

And thankfully, labor day wasn't an issue. I had so much homework I stayed home. Ate some leftovers for b-fast and lunch....and we're planning chicken and fruit salad for dinner. Then tomorrow it's back to the school grind.

Good to hear from you, jesusgirl!  Sounds like you've had quite a lifestyle adjustment and those are never easy (especially when lots of studying is involved), but you're hanging in there, good for you!

And good luck with your second week of law school!

I am happy to report that I have NOT been eating cake.  I have been soooooooooooo good.  I did eat an extra 400 calories over my allotment yesterday, but it was all healthy, including veggies, fruit and chicken plus a small bowl of cereal.  This TOM stuff is rough.  I never paid attention to it before I started at this site.  I remember in my past I would get hungry when I was trying to watch my weight and I would get mad at myself for being hungry.  Now I see the pattern since I am keeping track with the food journal & weight log so I know it is hormonal related.  It feels better knowing it isn't about a diet issue, but instead a female issue.  It helps me embrace & love myself more if I understand the method to the madness.  It also helps me to explain to hubby why I am gonna give him some crap over all this because he shouldn't get off easy in all this while I suffer.  :) 

Tomorrow is weigh-in, good luck to all, esp. me!  :) 

 

I guess my crazy time difference from everyone else makes me the first to weight in...

Holy water weight batman!  Monday I was 158, but that oh so glorious TOM just began and I'm now 163! daaammmnn.  I guess I can't take that weight too seriously.  I've been doing very well this past week as far as eating and exercise goes, so we'll see what next week's like Smile.

My mini goal for this week is to keep my exercising going.  Every time I start to exercise, I do well for a while but then just kind of stop.  Everything feels a bit different this time around, so I don't think that'll happen, but my goal is to not let it and keep working on running that 5k all the way.

 

I'm not expecting nice things for tomorrow; I'm in a rut. A big, giant rut.
