Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+)
Hey everyone,
I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.
So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.
So how about it?
wtg mrsmao on reaching 20 pounds off!
I am still sitting here at 170.2, just out of reach of the 160's! Perhaps if we start singing Disco music it will inspire my scale to dip into the 60's.
::::In the best BeeGee's voice I can muster:::::
Oh, girl I've known you very well
I've seen you growing everyday
I never really looked before
but now you take my breath away.
:D
wtg mrs mao :D

I weighed in today just to see...and I was very pleasantly surprised! 168.6 I think it said. Might have been 169...but either way, huzzah! I hope I can make it stick around. It also might have had something to do with the fact that I slept in like crazy today (first day off in quite a long time) and didn't eat for like 13 hours haha.
See those numbers is definitely motivation to keep going.
Way to go lynners. Nice to see after your crazy schedule that your getting some rest. :)

Way to go!! I saved you a seat but let's hope that this is a short show and can catch the next performance - The Fab 50's - very soon... =)
I bought a skipping rope yesterday and am hoping it will help in the weight loss process. I was hoping to be able to do it downstairs in my room, but the stupid thing hits the ceiling. Haha.

Just for fun......
HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION
Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... Don't waste them on exercise . Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.
Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.
Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!
Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: You're not listening....Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?
Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable. It's the best feel-good food around!!
Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.
Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape! !
linz - the last 2 made me actually laugh out loud! Thanks for posting that, I think we need a little reminder to not take ourselves so seriously all the time when it comes to weight loss.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Linz thanks for that! That cracked me up. I agree with Lynners, we need to relax and enjoy this process. Besides, I heard somewhere that laughing burns a few extra calories. Bring on the jokes. :-)
Looks like everyone had a great week last week! I actually was excited that I was able to weigh on wednesday morning....and then was never able to get online and post. Grr... Anyways, here is my tardy posting.
2 weeks ago - 249.2
Last week - 248.4.
Wednesday I have to take my 15 year old doggie in for sugery so it's doubtful I'll be weighing in before I leave the house that morning. :-( But I'll try to get in a weigh in....thursday or something!
"WEIGH" to go everyone. Love seeing all the great progress!
I had such a good lunch I wanted to post it!
Salad, baby carrots, pine nuts (dry roasted,no salt), sunflower seeds(lt salt), pecans(raw), dried cranberries(orgnaic & sweeten with cane juice), pineapple(in juice, not sugar) all tossed together without any dressing. It was so tasty having all those flavors mix. I also made sure to only use 1/2 size servings since I was mixing a few different nuts. I was mostly interested in how filling the nuts would be. I didn't really notice a difference there, I usually graze all day and I am still hungry soon after that. lol Oh well, it was still delish!
Hali - that sounds delish!!! And it sounds like a great "to go" lunch. I'm totally going to try that. Thanks for sharing! Do you have the calorie counts for it (and any idea the amounts of each ingredients)?
the one I made was about 400 cals. I used mostly 1/2 servings for all the additions, except carrots & lettuce were full servings. Is that what you were asking?
Whoever came up with the idea for Eggplant Parmesan is a jerk! Yeah, it is disguised as an innocent vegetable, but once it is breaded and deep fried and cheesed up it just becomes.................. MY DINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhh OMG 2 pieces the night before weigh-in. Can someone please let me borrow their "get out of eating too many calories" card? I know some of you have one, I have seen the post exclaiming joy at the unexpected weight loss after a night or even a week of naughty behavior. GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!
lol halizabeth you can have my card I have been good so far so I havent needed to use it yet !!
