Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+)
Hey everyone,
I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.
So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.
So how about it?

And mrs mao you will do fine you get right back on the wagon and work hard to undo that treats. :)
How is everyone else hanging in there this week
I'm still hard at it at the gym, its tiring but it feels good! My weight seems to be trickling up though...164.8 this morning but I'm hoping thats down to the sudden vamping up the exercise and weight lifting. Since I started this group and logging my weight I seem to have had a pattern of a slight gain then a drop so I'm hoping thats what is going to happen again! So want to see 150's by christmas.
Despite my hard efforts this week I havent seen even a slight change on the scale, its very discouraging to say the least. Hope you all had a great thanksgiving.

All that bitching and I lost anyways. Im thinking I should only weight my self on wends bc it seems that WHEN I do lose weight its always on weigh in days. Im kinda surprised actually because altho I did great with calorie counting/weight watchers, I kinda gave up and had popcorn with a load of salt 2 nights in a row...ah well!

I know I'm doing good at the gym but I REALLY wish I could get some kind of validation from the scales. Atleast its dropped a little, was 164.8 yesterday so I'm back where I was two weeks ago but I've so got my heart set on being in the 150's by christmas but I really don't think its going to happen.
I'm not sure though if my belly is the tiniest bit tighter this week or if I'm imagining it. I don't have a proper measuring tape other than a DIY type one which I sometimes use to very roughly measure my waist. Had a go this morning and apparently I've lost around 3 inches since the last time which was probably about two or three months ago. Obviously its a very rough guide but a little encouraging all the same

I was absolutely horrible this last week with Thanksgiving. I just need to get back on the horse and keep on trying. I can only imagine how much fat and sodium I ingested because I have no idea how much it was. Next year I better only have 1 Thanksgiving instead of 2!!

Well, it looks like I'm finally getting back on track. And I no longer feel hopeless. I can do this!
I'm stressed to the max with worrying; my mom is sick and her blood tests so far indicate rheumatoid arthritis. I wish I could be closer to home to help her out! She doesn't get to see a specialist for another 2 months. She's one tough broad though, she'll manage.
I'm going to buy presents for charity today, that'll make me feel better than any amount of food ever could!
Measurements will come next week...it's that time of the month so I know I'm bloated.

This is an average because this morning the scale could not make up it's mind! It first read 148.8 which seemed low, so I tried again and weighed in at 149.6 and then 149.2.. I could keep going but I decided to average out the 3 weights so I could post... At least it's under 150, right?
Good morning ladies. Took a nice run at the track Week 4 Run2 of my couch to 5k I think it nearly killed me but I finished it woot!

This Week: 180 on the nose makes grand total weight lose 60lbs so far :)linz78 You are working at hard at the gym you probably are just packing on the weight of muscle while losing weight at the same time. Give you body a few weeks to adjust to the change.
chantale1985 scales are evil I obsessed too much on the scale, I think I use it alot more if I feel I have eaten something bad so I am trying to judge how much I messed up. Think my goal for the week is to just measure on next wed see if I can avoid the scale till then.
mrsmao most likly your gain is due to all the sodium that you ate you need to eat 3500 calories over what your body needs in order to gain a pound.
lynners sorry to hear about your mom hopefully they can get her in sooner dumb canadain wait times. I think buying presents for charity is an awesome thing to do :)

. I got my workout done on my treadmill today, so I felt good about that. I walked yesterday but only for 35 min. because I just didn't feel good. Then, while I was watching the Biggest Loser I stepped on my stepping box for 35 min. and did my arm weights. Congrats on getting to an even 180.
lynners: I'm sorry about your Mom. My sister-in-law has that kind of arthritis and it is a hard thing to have. Hope she can get the care she needs soon!!
Where have all the other ladies gone?? Our group is getting smaller and smaller. We'll have to keep it going though, so we make it to our goals.

Maybe we should make it an open group again so maybe more people will join in? I love checking in and I feel accountable having to log my weight in this group.

I was thinking we seem to be a bit thin on the ground at the moment aswell. I certainly intend to stick around though, its so helpful having somewhere to get support, rant or celebrate your successes and chat to and support people in the same situation.
Weighed in this morning at 163.6....yay the scale is moving! Hope I can maintain that or lose more by next wednesday's weigh in, I don't usually weigh myself other than on a wednesday so I don't really know how much I normally fluctuate but it was nice to see a smaller number this morning. I was feeling really tired last night and couldn't really be bothered to go to gym but I went anyway and had a really good work out so I'm seeing that little loss as my reward!
I am 4ft 11 inches and I need to lose 76 pounds. I just dont know how I got this big. I know when I had pneumonia and was in the hospital on major prednisone I gained 45 pounds just eating hospital food. I have not been able to lose that weight plus I have put on more. I am just starting so I have not lost any weight yet. Im learning my way around the site.

I agree girls I love coming here wends mornings and being accountable for my actions. Even if no one else joins as long as we have this group to come to when we need it, it doesnt really matter the amount of people here.

I have been around! I haven't had a lot of time for posting, but have been logging food and reading your comments, rants, successes, etc. So even though I haven't been posting I have still been here in spirit! The last 2 months have been a roller coaster with health issues, family, work, etc.
As you can see Thanksgiving really set me back, also. 5 lb weight gain, but it was mostly water retention due to sodium intake. I tried to make good choices on the holiday, but we dont know how other people cook and season their food! Also, I had a few alcohol beverages between Thursday and Saturday. I don't usually drink alcohol beverages(don't want the empty calories)but with the holiday and son in law's birthday party, the temptation was too much! LOL
Oh well, I seem to be back on track now, at least with calorie counting and food choices. I haven't been to the gym since beginning of Oct. I really do need to start some kind of exercise regimen again. I know I feel better and sleep better when I am more active. I did ask "Santa" for a Wii but don't think it's going to be in the budget.
It's great to see all you gals doing so well! Keep up the good work!! (it is work- ccing, logging, planning, cooking, etc) I do miss all the other ones who have dropped off!

I'm from the UK, and am 5ft 2 weighin in at 201.25lbs this morning. Full time work and mum to 2 boys and husband. Would love to get down to 140lbs eventually. I have a seriously BAD diet/eating habits. I seem to have lost the love for the food. I'm horrifically fussy anyway, but just can't seem to be bothered with food iykwim. For example today I've eaten 5 chocolate digestives, drank half a cup of black tea with 1 sugar and had 2 cups of squash. I don't feel hungry but my heartburn is letting me know I've been a bad girl....lol. I have got beef tacos to do for tea tongiht so will have them with plenty of lettuce, carrots and red pepper. yum yum
