Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+)
Hey everyone,
I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.
So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.
So how about it?
Last Week: 176.8
This Week: 176.4!
Pretty good I think, considering I binged drank, ate like crack, and it's the most wonderful time of the month!
My mini goal for weight is going to be 150, and then I will go from there. 150 is the most familiar weight that I've ever been.
My food mini goal is to continue to not eat fries at work (I work in a kitchen) and to stop eating chocolates at my boyfriend's aunt's house!
My exercise mini goal...ugh. I'll need to think about that. I love the gym, but can't afford a membership. Maybe I'll buy a work out DVD...

(Only 4/10 of a pound, but... I finally broke 185. Yay!)
Great job, krilia! My first mini-goal is 175 as well. Way to go on sticking to the exercise routine - especially with company in town.
And holsfisher: That's an inspiring mini-goal! I think I'll follow your lead and try to keep the tempting stuff out of the cart. After all, if the food doesn't make it into the house, the battle is practically won.
My mini-goal for this week is to get my heart rate up for 30 minutes at least 3 times this week. I'm embarrassed to say that I have not exercised at all in TWO WEEKS. It's not just the stall in weight loss that's bothering me, either... my original goal was to get in better shape so I'd be able to hike, and I lost sight of that. So it's definitely time to get back into a routine.
I'm also going to branch out and try prunes. My mom swears by them, and they're a much healthier snack than a granola bar.

I'm so hoping this plateau is behind me now. I've worked out two mornings in a row before work and I acutally have to say I like that. I did 30 min cardio and then the "express" workout section of the gym for 30. My only goal is to be out of the 150's by the end of August.

Is that tom so hopefully next weeks weight in will be alot better. Get my new eliptical machine on friday, and have been taking my dog out for more walks. Mini goal is to get to 210 ultimate goal is to break into onederland. This is my second time trying to lose the weight we have to get the mindset and think this is a lifestyle change not a DIET. hence why I am losing the same 100lbs argg

I am soooo excited. This is my first week so I am sure a lot of it is water or whatever, but still YEAH!. I worked very hard this week. Burned average 1350/day, and ate on average less than 1400. It was a difficult first week but I am starting to actual feel better, and that actually is more rewarding than the number on the scale for me cause I was feeling pretty low before. Thank you guys again for making a forum. Congratulations on all your hard work, and loss or maintenance this week. Reading about so many ppl working hard to get themselves where they want to be is really inspirational. Have a great next week everyone!

P.S. I read that pbear123 is getting an eliptical and I was just wondering is it easier harder to work than a treadmill? I have not been on one cause they look scary to me (and I worry I will fall off

Yay! I didn't think I'd see the scale budge at all this week, but I think a lot of it is water weight. Hopefully some is real weight lost!
liliam4066 - Wow! You're really inspiring, losing so much! I would love to get an elliptical, I've used them before and they're actually really nice! They're lower impact on your knees so if you have any knees problems you can use an elliptical much longer than a tredmill.
And I love everyone's mini goals, I want to steal them!
My mini weight goal will be to 175 as well, dropping 17-19 lbs would feel so nice!
My mini goal for the week will be to NOT snack on candy or junk food at work. No candy no matter how much I want it! And they put the stuff everywhere!
I also like the mini goal of keeping junk food out of the cart, that'll help me from not pigging out once I get home. So I think I'll try for both those goals.

I am really excited about this loss. I realize alot of it may be water but that's OK. It's given me a mental boost to keep going. It's so nice to have a place to come to and read all about everyone's struggles and successes. My mini-weight goal would be to get to 180 by Halloween. For my mini-food goal this week it is to drink only 1 diet pepsi a day. That might seem silly, but I really am addicted to that stuff. Also, I want to eat a salad a day. As far as a mini-exercise goal I want to walk on my treadmill every day (no matter how tired I am at the end of the day). My son is home for summer vacation from school and it's hard for me to do it when my husband is at work. Keep trying and one day we'll all get to where we want to be. Have a great week.
I am at 177.2 today. Honestly I can't be upset at not showing a loss today. I had 5 &1/2 peanut butter truffle cookies last night at 110 calories each. Plus some alcohol a couple nights this week. I kept up my exercise this week so I am hoping the cookies just caused a temporary flux and will even out by Friday (my true weigh-in day, mentally anyway.lol).
Mini goal; 3 workouts this week along with 2- 30 minute sessions of cardio each day.
I have a wedding to attend on September 27 and I would love to weigh 166 so I will be out of the obese catagory by then. That would be 11 pounds in 8 1/2 weeks, by September 27! I can do it!
I really do get inspired coming here to read post, this week I see Holsfisher is a buddy of mine showing a gain too. Great job to the rest I see posting a lower weight.
As for the thread, I thought a new one each week would make it easier to keep up. Keeping to a weekly goal/topic each time.
EDIT: opps my bad, I did lose this week.... 2/10 of a pound! I will take it! See I get confused since I am also with another group trying to lose a total of 15 by the middle of August, we weigh-in on Friday so I am thinking of that weight which was 177. Plus I was down to 176 a few days ago so I feel like I am up in weight, however I stand corrected, since last Wed I lost 2/10 of a pound! I wonder how many calories all the mental math is gonna earn me? lol
I am 167.2 today.. I was 167 on Monday.. and for the sake of argument, I was 167.8 last Wednesday.. LOL
I'm not worried about not seeing a difference in a 2 day period.. I'll wait to see the results next week once I've completed my excercise mini goal...

Mini weight goal - I want to be close to 160 lbs by the end of August... My birthday is on the 17th of August and I originally wanted to weigh that much for my b-day but not going to happen .. so whatever! It's my birth month!

Well, I'm weighing in at 261 today. I've only lost a lb since last week. But, that puts me at 42 lbs since March 30th. So, I guess I can't complain.
I did my morning weight-lifting routine and will do my cardio kickbox this evening!
My water intake has been horrible for the last couple of weeks!! I HAVE to get back on track with that....I think that's the main reason my weight has been stabilizing!

Wow, everyone is doing so great...whether they posted a loss or not!! This is exciting! I think Wednesdays will be my new favorite day LOL. To the people mentioning water loss I say...so what!! Whatever it is, it's gone, and hopefully for good! I dropped 5 pounds my first week and it hasn't come back!! Okay...my results:

YAY!! My goodness. I had about 3 really bad days this week but I exercised consistently so I think that's how I still pulled it off.
My mini exercise goal: Walk to the track instead of driving. It extends my workout by 35 minutes.
Mini food goal: Calculate calories BEFORE I eat something as much as possible.
My mini weight goal: 149 pounds!! I want out of the 150s NOW!

Ok... so I now have a mini food goal.. I took a look at my food log and was really surprised by how many calories I have allocated for SNACKS! so, my mini food goal is to keep my calorie intake for snacks to 250 kcal or less throught the day.
liliam4066 - I had a gazzelle but I didnt find I was getting enough workout and the readout for how long or how many calories I was buring wasnt working. I have a treadmill but my house the power is so bad that I blow a fuse everytime i use it.

It's definitely not "just" a pound - we're supposed to be losing slowly and steadily so that it's weight that stays off. Good job. :)

That's a pound gain - yikes! On Monday which is my typical weigh in day I was 199 and was soooo happy to break the 200 mark but I guess it was a false loss. My main challenge is sweets - mainly chocolate - and although I am remaining under my calorie total for the day (it says to stay under 1550 per day), I suspect I am eating too much sugar. I'm finding that for me, it's not only about the calorie content of the food, it's also about the amount of sugar. Exercise is also a challenge - primarily fitting into a very busy schedule so my goals centre around that:
Mini goal - weight - 195 by Sept 1 Mini goal - food - choc only one day per week Mini goal - exercise - 30 minutes per day

Weigh in day! Not Good:( 172.2 Wrong way, I'm chalking it up to water retention!!
Over the wkend I ate some high sodium foods(stayed with the healthy foods, tho) My feet, kankles, fingers and eyelids really showed me I had over done it!I haven't been this swollen and hurting for quite sometime.
I am really pushing the water. Last few days, 70 oz per day. Also using fresh lemon in my water. Today I have going to the bathroom about every 1/2 hr. So...hopefully that means tha lemon and water is working!

Hi everyone-
so good to read all of your posts. congrats to everyone. i am having a rough day with my food choices- 1st one really since i started cc 3 weeks ago. so, i shouldn't really complain.
i ate a donut this morning, chips this afternoon and 3 cookies about an hour ago!!! this is the first time i have really eaten things that i know are not the best for me but i just feel so lazy about my healthy diet today. i also haven't been to the gym since Monday which is contributing to my lazy attitude about all of it! i am going to be getting my period in the next 2-3 days and i really think that this has something to do with it???
i am getting back on track tomorrow-- going to the gym after work with my husband and eating better. i really need to get to the store and stock back up on the good foods that i can eat rather than the crap that is around when all of my fresh healthy stuff is gone!
I have no idea what my weight is today (i would imagine i haven't lost) because i don't own a scale. i always weigh myself at the gym and i will post my stats tomorrow after i get home from the gym and i know what's up (or down...
that would be a miracle).
my goal for the week- drink more water(i have REALLY bad about it this week and get to the gym 5-6 times between tomorrow and next Wed's weigh in!!
