Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+)
Hey everyone,
I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.
So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.
So how about it?
New Rules of Lifting For Women :)
I ran my 30min today whoa was a killer have to do my Weight session have my proten shake then done for the day... not expecting too much weight off tommorow might even be a gain due to the weights
hang in there ladies
Ah Nanette.. just got back from a 50 min. walk and before I completed the first set of NROLFW... Much to my surprise, I was able to do the 2 sets of 15 pushups (on knees) and both sets of 8 jackknife (with difficulty though)! the first time I started the program, back in October, I wasn't so successful.. hehe
How did it go for you?
All is good!! off to make my protein shake..
Just ate dinner so have to wait another hour before I attempt my jackknifes :S lol
Nanette
What's a jackknife??
Early weigh in as I won't be going tomorrow.
Wed 12/31 163.4
Sat 1/3 162.0
today 159.6 2.4lb loss, yeah!
I actually did pretty good over the holidays. Only about a 3.5lb gain. Looks like I've gotten it off already.
I am really tired of the 160's, time to ramp it up and get back to exercising. I haven't been to water aerobics since Oct. My dghtr is home for winter break, classes dont start back up till the 20th and she has agreed to go to the gym with me. She loves to run and does weights, also. She agreed to do water aerobics if I would agree to do one of the machines. Im going to give the recumbent bike another try.
Good Luck tomorrow everyone!
Completed my first day of NROLFW, your right avila the jackknifes were kinda funny to get the balance.

Congrats on the weight loss lossingit, it is always nice to have a work out buddy really helps to keep me motivated when I had my girlfriend living close to me and we would work out everyday.

I didn't expect to see any results, this being my first week. The scale I initially weighed myself on didn't give decimal points, so who really knows which end of 160 I was at lol
First weigh in of 2009!
Last Weigh in (24th December 08): 165.0
This Week: 164.6
So....not half as bad as I was expecting considering my xmas blip (did I mention I ate nearly an entire tin of Quality Street in one day). I'm not sure if I maintained over the xmas period or whether I have already lost any gain I may have had cos I've been too chicken to get on the scales til now. Considering the amount of bad, bad foods I had and the fact that for the most part I was almost entirely sedentery (although to be fair I was poorly for a few days) I'm incredibly suprised that I seem to have remained fairly stable.
Really hoping that now my weight loss will have had a kick up the backside cos I'm sick off seeing the same bunch of numbers for the past few weeks. Bring on the 150's!
A little bit GRRRRRRRR however cos it seems I spoke too soon about my ankle being better as it has decided to cave in on me again. Back to walking yet again....
Last Weigh In(12/31/08): 161
Weight This Morning: 155.4
WOOOOHOOOOOO!! Now, if I actually start exercising more, this weight will come off in no time. I've cut out fried foods and sweets, but I've only been exercising a little bit. I will get the exercise together this week!!
Congrats on all the weight losses!
Okay considering I've only been doing this for 4 days, I'm not suprised at my results at all...except my measurments and ONLY because I haven't measured myself in YEARS! WOW! what a wake up call! EEEKKKK
1/2: 166
TW: 167
Chest: 40.5
Waist (natural) 32 (OMG!!!)
Hips: 41.5
I'm proud of myself for staying on track, cause the minute I saw 167 I thought, "Why bother?" but then I had to remind myself that I have only been doing this for 4 days. But my perspective really changed when I saw my measurements. I've got to work on those! So here's to staying on track & not looking back!
Good luck everyone! I WILL be one of the weight losers next week!![]()
Start weight 167
LW - Dec 31 - 146.4
TW - Jan 07 - 145.6
Ladies... I did not want to weigh myself today because I started the NROLFW yesterday and swimming earlier this week and water retention is inevitable BUT I still weighed in... that's commitment. LOL
I am up almost 1lb from my lowest a few days ago (under 145lbs) but I know it's not real weight, just plain ol' water retention from my muscles trying to heal.
Congrats to all for staying commited regardless of whether we showed a loss or not! great job everyone!
Last weigh in (December 17): 164
This weigh in: 165.4
It's okay. I was on holiday for ten days so I'm not going to beat myself up. It was probably worse than that before haha.
I'm definitely motivated to keep on track. I've come this far and I do NOT want to return to what I was before. Time to take measurements now too.
Neck: 14.5 - 14 (no change)
Underbust: 35 - 34.25 (.25 increase from last time)
Waist: 34.25 - 32.25 (.25 decrease from last time)
Hips: 46 - 44.25 (.25 decrease from last time)
Thighs: 27.5 - 26.5 (.25 increase from last time)
Calves: 17 - 16.5 (first change ever in them!)
Some small victories in amongts the failures. It's all good.
Time to go shovel the driveway! Congrats to all you girls who saw losses. You're working so hard and it's paying off SO well!
Well here goes my first weigh in here.

Very pleased!

Better than last week, but I still think I could be doing better. I'll keep working on it.
Good job everyone. Hope you all have a good week.
Round #2 New SW (today) - 204
So I'm using 204 as my "round 2" starting weight. I'll do measurements on the weekend as I'd like to see how my body changes not just how the weight does.
My long term goal is 125 but my first goal is to get back down to my Sept weight which was 192 (basically erase the Sept - Dec boo boo).
Now... to figure out how to schedule in exercise....
Hi,
I am 5' 1 and I weigh 264. I started my diet at the first of the year. I am new to this site, I just signed up. I am comfined to my house most of the time due to my disability... so I need to find support other ways. I am doing the calorie counting thing and it seems to be going well. I am very commited to this.
I've just ordered a measuring tape off ebay...yay!
Hopefully it'll help give me a bit of insight when the scales are slow to budge. I refuse to accept that eating a healthy diet and working out 2 hours a day, 6 days a week can be doing nothing at all!
Wouldn't it be great if ebay accidently sent me a polar heart rate monitor aswell...
I'm pretty interested in getting myself a pedometer. It'd be funny to see how immobile I actually am. :P
Also, I'm throwing out the Christmas chocolate today! I completely binged after I ate a really healthy dinner. It's going in the garbage so I don't do it again today.
