Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+)
Hey everyone,
I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.
So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.
So how about it?
I'm in! I'm 5'3'', looking to lose 40 pounds! lets motivate each other :)
Well I haven't weighed in for 2 weeks, been a bit low on motivation and a bit low generally. I haven't completely let it go, been counting/exercising during the week but losing it a bit on the weekends. I haven't been eating huge amounts, just higher calorie choices so as a result I've been more maintaining than losing and was too much of a coward to step on the scales! Sometimes when I'm feeling low a bad weigh in can really set me back so sometimes its better to wait til I get past the worst and feeling a bit more upbeat.
I think I'm starting to get my motivation back a bit now.....god knows I need to with only 5 weeks to go til my hol, now is not the time to go off the rails!
So back to business....

This Week: 150.4
All in all I'm still moving in the right direction....just a bit slower than planned.

As you can see I've been really struggling. My plan was to come back from vacation with a renewed motivation for my weight loss. But, the day after I got back my uncle passed and I haven't really felt like getting back in the groove. I know I need to stop making excuses. I had lost 5 pounds the first month I started CC and had been lingering around 227 but after a few weeks off I went up to 239. Well I'm back down to around when I started and I'm trying everyday to get my motivation back. Good luck ladies and congrats to all who are winning the battle and the war!![]()
Hi All! I'm a little over 5'3" and weigh 152 as of today. My goal weight is 124! I weighed 155 a few days ago when I started CC so I'm very happy with the results so far. It makes a huge difference for me to fill out the food log each day. Knowing that I have to add everything I eat to the log is making me aware of what I eat since I don't want to go over the recommended calorie intake. Without the log its too easy to eat too much and not even realize it. Good luch to all of you!

I'm sorry about your uncle and in light of his passing I think it's ok to be gentle with yourself and jump back in when you are ready. Keep going!! You are headed in the right direction.

Thank you for the kind words. My Uncle was always a happy person and I know he'd want me to be happy and I'm just not happy with this weight so I do plan on trying harder. Next week I hope I have something to jump about lol.

A lot of it will be water weight, fortunately. But there's definitely some real weight gain in there too. Why can't I do this!? I have NO willpower, and the lady I'm living with has candy, chocolate, chips, and snacks EVERYWHERE in the house. I'm moving out in July to live in my own apartment, and I know things will be better there...I just need to try and keep it under control until then!
I also played ball last night for the first time this season and my muscles are soooo sore. Could they be retaining some water too? I don't know.
Great job everyone else though! I need to read all these posts more often to keep myself motivated.
HI I started working out in January and somewhat watching what I ate.
I started at 179 I just started CC a week ago and I like having to be accountable for my calorie intake. I am 5'3

Here we go-roller coaster ride with the numbers. I was expecting it though, so not too bummed.
Seems like I do this everytime I get into another 10ths weight. (Does that make sense?) What I mean is since I went from 150's down to 140's my weight just keeps going up down up down.
I really want to be solidly in the 140's by the end of this month. I've been busier around the house and yard, lately. Hopefully that will make a difference.
Jodi - 5 lbs a month is awesome! I typically loose about 2 lbs a month!
Linz - Hang in there. You're doing great! If you're getting dicouraged, think about where you were 1 yr ago, that should help you feel better!
pbear - Glad to see your post! Hope all is going well for you and your family. I'm with you, Come back all you gals out there. We miss you and want and need the encouragement!

I'm just under 5'3 and started at 165 on May 4th.
My current weight is 154. My goal weight is 124.
My problem is that I really don't want to wait to loose all this weight. Plus the weight looks like so much more because I'm short and every little pound shows up. However I've lost 11 pounds and it doesn't look different at all. It's really frustrating. I wish working out and losing weight was as fun as eating.

I really appreciate all of you! Having this group makes it easier to stay on track and if I get off track, to get back on. It helps to know that I am not the only that has struggled with weightloss.
chelsea0mai- hang in there! Your appearance will start to change. We don't always lose weight in the obvious places, but that doesn't mean we aren't losing it. Stick with your workouts and you will start to see the changes you are looking for.
I am 21 weeks pregnant and I have gained 5lbs so far. I can still gain up to 20 more lbs without being too at risk. My current weight is 160.5. I haven't done any exercising because I don't have the energy, but I have made some changes to my eating habits. For example, when I want a snack I eat an apple or mandarin oranges or I make a fruit smoothie with soy milk. These small changes have helped me a lot. At this point in my last pregnancy i had gained 15lbs! I didn't have any self control, lol
hey, im 5 ft 1 and am 200lb...its horrible i feel so so fat
i started CC in january and stopped in about march.. i lost 120lb in my first 2 weeks then it all stopped. i think that was water weight and the change in my exercise habit ..i went ot gym 3 time sa week
unfornatly i lost track of it all and stopped going...now i am back home(im a uni student) and have no gym membership and no money...
its hard to watch what i eat here as my mom and brother always have stuff to nibble on when im bored..
ive been put on orlistat(prescription version of alli) and for 2 weeks nothing has happened at all. im trying to startt my calories again to see if it helps im at a complete loss
i walk my dog in the day for a bout half a hour-1 hour

Chelsea, I hear ya! I think the moral to that dilemna is that skinny people like exersicing more than eating!!! I don't see that ever happening for me. But I do like the way I feel after a jog better than how I feel after a binge.
The problem is I crave immediate gratification. I don't want to wait until I'm done with 45 minutes of jogging to feel better. With eating I feel good the second I put the food in my mouth, but the good feeling disappears as soon as I swallow it. So I just put another piece in, and another, and another...
The only solution I've found is to choose healthier options to eat when I feel like I need that face stuffing feeling. I know to solve the true problem I'll need a little professional help!
Well, I'm definitely short but I'm also definitely not in the 120 pound range! ![]()
This challenge is excellent for me because I'm short, way over 120 pounds and have designated Wednesdays as my "offical weigh-in" day already! Thanks so much for that!

My weight has been bouncing quite a bit this week. I've been as high as 220 and as low as 216. Not sure what the cause is. Here are my numbers for today:

awww.. I am still here, sort of. I don't post, but I am here still. It is hard to take care of myself and my mom but I am determined. It has been 8 months since she moved in and my weight started to creep back up, but around May 1 I was able to tip the scale in favor of ME! I am working hard eating right. I gained 18 pounds back from my lowest 166 in Oct 08 up to 184. Today I was at 177.2, which is .2 less then what I started at on this thread back in July 08. I am motivated by staying below my weights from last year. Last June I weighed 183 so I am almost 7 pounds ahead of myself.lol Whatever keeps us motivated is the trick. I don't have time to read each day, but I like to check up here and there. Pbear you are doing great! I will try to read up on others later and see where everyone is that I remember, IF I have time. lol
