Hey everyone,

I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.

So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.

So how about it?

Well, I think I forgot to post my weight last week, or maybe I just skipped it because I was PMSing and I didn't like what the scale said.  ANyway, here it goes:

Starting Weight: 218 (Jan 1, 09)

Last Week (2 weeks really): 193

This Week: 191

I'm SO close to the 180's I'm really going to try to get there by July 4th weekend.  And STAY there despite all the parties and fireworks!

hi heatmisr4444 i am tina hang in there u can  do it, i have lost 76lbs so far so if i can do it u can. i have cut down on my eating portions and i drink alot of water and exercise so hang in there and i u need help let me know ok take care tina

GW 145  would really like to see 140, now that I'm getting closer. I still am a bit thick around the middle. The weight seems to be most stubborn to loose there. Will be doing measurements again the first wk in July, about every 2 months.

The weight has been all over the scales. I've seen 151.6 to 148.8, I'm thinking water retention due to sodium. Have been eating out quite a bit, usually good choices, but sodium content is always high.

Joints have been bothering me lately. I've been blaming it on the weather. We've been getting lots of rain here in IA. Today is the first day it hasn't rained all week, but they're predicting rain again for tomorrow!(Here come the floods) But looking at my sodium avg for the last 2 wks I am around 2100, which is high for me. That and the weather are to blame.

mini goal for next wk - cook! Try not to eat out so much. This will be tough as I am doing a little road trip with Aunt Sandy next wkend. Should be able to cook for myself and family till Thurs at least! PREPLAN!!! I CAN do it!

halizabeth - glad to see you are still lurking out there. ( I think that is the term used)Sure have missed your sense of humor with the side of smart ass thrown in! lol This is a long and sometimes hard journey. Just remember - Never, never, never give up!

lynners - GREAT JOB on the loss this week. Keep up the good work!

pbear - You are amazing! The weight you've lost and maintained is inspirational! Hope all is well with you and the family. I've kept you in my thoughts and prayers!

linz - Congrats on the 40's! I seem to be barely hanging on to them myself. Lots of fluctuations! Seems to be pretty typical, though. Where are you going for your holiday? We are going to Montana 7/25 thru 8/9. I love being in the mountains. Always do lots of hiking and eating, though, when we're out there! lol

jodi - congrats to you on your loss! You WILL be in the 80's in no time! Do you do measurements? If you did a starting measurement and have been keeping track every couple months or so that can be very motivating. Sometimes, when it seems the loss has stalled, the measurements show us things are still moving!  

all the newcomers - welcome and good luck to you! As you can see from these posts - It CAN be done. Patience and persistence are the keys! There is no magic pill, just determination and keeping your eye on the goal!

good job loosingit57  i weighed in this morning and im down to 171.5 lost 3 more lbs, so far i have lost 79bls. my goal is 140 to 130. than no more so everyone good luck. tina

 I am a short girl. I stand 5'3 and I currently weigh 181 pounds. I have been on my diet for a week and have lost 10 pounds. I need support as I try to lose 70 pounds.

Well, I started with a 1200 calorie diet even though I don't think I get it all in sometimes.  I started to walk. I walked about 4 days last week. I also went to spin class at my friends gym on two days. I think it was the spin classes. LOL

I'll be missing weigh in this week because I'm going out of town...it's also that time of the month so I think I'd rather not weigh in anyway!

happytop...you're only eating 1200? I would really suggest eating more. 1200 is the absolute minimum that an adult SEDENTARY (or really really tiny) female should be eating. You're having trouble getting to even 1200? Maybe try adding nuts to your diet. A small handful of raw almonds can amount to almost 200 calories.

 

Thanks for the advice Lynners. I eat almonds once a day already and I bought some tuna, peanut butter and a few other high protein snacks. I don't know why I am losing weight so fast. Maybe its all the working out I have been doing. I also drink 80-100 oz of water a day. It has to be water weight anyway right?

Well after a weekend filled with food (happy hour with girl friends on friday, birthday dinner for hubby on saturday, father's day brunch on sunday), I'm afraid to step on the scale.  I usually weigh myself on Monday to gauge how I'm doing for the week, but I might just stay off it until Wednesday's official weigh in day!

But, I am proud to report that I had to buy a smaller sized pair of jeans today.  My old "skinny jeans" were literally falling off me so I got a pair in a size 14!  It's weird, When I look in the mirror I still see me as a size 20, not a 14.  I suppose sooner or later my brain will catch up with my body.  :)

nappytop - Wow! Awesome job on the 10lb loss! I typically eat 1200, also. Some days a bit more, somedays a bit less. As long as you're getting at least 20% fat(40 grams and under), 20% protein(about 60 grams) and at least 50% carbs(200 grams or less)you should be ok.

jodi - Congrats on the new size jeans! Isn't it great to be buying clothes in the "regular" sizes again! I know what you mean about looking in mirror and seeing the old size! For me, I still see size 18! I do have a pair of "skinny" jeans that make my fanny and legs looks super! At about 150 lbs I'm now wearing a size 12 jean and size 10 skirt! Never, ever thought I'd be here again!

I will be going on a short road trip Thurs - Sat. Should be able to weigh in Wed, though. Did an official LAWL weigh in today, gained 2 lbs! I think it is water retention due to that darn sodium. Had dinner at in-laws yesterday, Ham and Kumla(Norwegian potato balls), and of course we put butter all over everything! I brought my own "diet" oly, though. Oh yeah, had 1/2 slice cherry pie for dessert!

Back on track today, though. Will be home cooking till Thursday so weigh in should be good Wed.

Well last week we had a party at work and all of us have been eating the leftover snacks all week. I'm trying to get back on track though, I'm determined not to eat a single snack today.

Yesterday I worked out, did an aerobics taping with Jillian Micheal, plan on doing it again tonight and as much as possible until I can keep up with those skinny winches lol.

Good luck to all and keep pushing toward your goals. Its so so hard but our health is at risk.

Is it really wednesday already?  I don't want to get on the scale!  Monday I was up 2lbs and tuesday it said I was up 3lbs.  I was super good yesterday but I doubt 3lbs melted overnight.  So, if I get up the nerve I'll post my weekly weight later today but for now I will celebrate a small victory I had this weekend...

You know that little seat in the back row of a minivan.  It's not "really" a seat but there is a seatbelt.  Well, my two older kids sit in the 3rd row and they still have booster seats, so we call the seat in between them the "little butt" seat.  And only people with little butts are allowed to sit there...like my 11 year old neice.

Well, on Sunday we packed the car full with my family of 5 plus my parents and guess who fit in the "little butt" seat?  ME!!!!

Trying really hard to stick to a 1200 calorie intake...but it is very challenging. I also had a baby eight months ago..so I am still struggling with at least an extra ten pounds of baby weight. I can use all of the support I can get.
