Hi everyone, I just sweated (or is that perspired) over a hot keyboard to type a post for another group, so I'm a little typed out.  Until I figured out how to post (not too swift) I've not been able to talk to anyone about losing weight.  After all how many times can you tell anyone who will listen, "Hey I've lost another pound!" without them looking at you funny.  I'm Canadian, and started eating healthy and counting calories on January 1st, 2009.  I've been following my own balanced eating plan, counting calories.  My starting weight was 266 pounds and with grrrrrrrrrrreat difficulty I've now lost 53 pounds, exactly half way to my goal weight of 160.  Calorie Count tells me I should reach my goal in October 2010.  Let's hope it's sooner.  I'm married, but my husband and I live in separate residences.  Works for us, as we're getting along great and there's no fighting for the remote.  I live in a small City 80 miles north of Toronto and love it.  My member name of lovemytulip is based on the name of my teacup poodle Tulip.  She is a rescue dog.  She now lives with me (her mom) and her two step uncles, the cats, Fred and Barney.  Fred is quite svelte but Barney takes after me, and consequently brings shame on the family.  Just kidding!  Like everyone else I have my weaknesses - sweets, etc.  Also I have a bad habit of losing a couple of pounds, then splurging sufficiently to have to lose the same pounds twice.  I'd love to hear from anyone wishing to communicate with me.  A little girl like me shouldn't still be up at 1.21 a.m. so I have to go.  Hope to hear from many other calorie counters.  Mary

thanx everyone for your posts.  No I've not been at goal weight in many years but when I was 23 I dieted from 156 to 123, my lowest weight ever.  I don't really know whether Ill go lower than 160 pounds.  At 5'5" I could do that, but I don't know: I'm even scared about breaking 200 pounds because it is now alien territory.  I appreciate that you like my posts.  By the way texmom52, Fred can't go out.  I have left the door open at times and he is outta there like a dirty shirt.  He's looking for adventure, and when he finds it, he doesn't recognize it.  I'd like to post a picture of tulip, beside my member name, but don't know how to do that.  Can you give me a clue?  I've used Splenda in a plain vinegar dressing on a basic lettuce and cucumber salad.   How sweet is that?

mary,

Ick.  I don't like cucumbers.

I think you would have to search for a picture of a tulip and save it somewhere you can find it.  Then go to your profile and put the picture in there.  I can't remember whether you browse and find it and put it there or paste it there.  But I am sure it isn't hard since I figured it out.
