A Short Term Goal: 5 Pounds by Dec 22
I know most of us on here have long term weight loss goals; including myself. I have lost 30 pounds since March, and I need to lose 18 more pounds to reach my goal weight.
However; I've noticed as I get closer to reaching my goal weight, things go slower and 18 pounds sounds like so much!
So in the midst of my long term goals, I am making a short term goal too. I would like to lose 5 more pounds by Dec 22, when I leave for Christmas vacation.
If anyone would like to join me, I'm going to weigh in tomorrow!

I'd like to join! I would actually love to drop 5 lbs by the 16th though..which is when I leave on Christmas vacation. Is that too much-- 5lbs in 3 weeks?
Anyway...I'd still like to join..even if I only drop 3lbs in the 3 weeks but this will help me stay motivated hopefully!!
Weight loss between 1-2 lbs per week is healthy. As long as you eat nutritionally, I don't think it's too much.

I've unfortunately gotten off track but I've generally found that short term successes are great motivation for the long term
138.5 today. hopefully ill be down at least a pound next week, despite thanksgiving...
I'm in! Amber, 18 pounds does sound like a lot, but it's about half of what you've already lost! I think this short term goal will keep us motivated and it's fun to get to a interval goal and feel so rewarded. :)
I'm nervous for Thanksgiving, but I'm looking forward to going home and working out while I'm there. I'd like to show off to my family a little bit!
And maybe even motivate them a little bit too.

As you can see, losing 5 more pounds will be super exciting for me because I will finally be on the verge of weighing less than 200. I don't know how long it's been since I've been at that weight.

How did everybody fare over Thanksgiving?? I gained about 2 pounds, but I impressed my parents by actually running! At least I tried.. And I took my doggie too. :)

But I've lost it already, so I guess it's ok.
I'm 138.5 today, so I'm exactly where I was last week.
So far, so good though, I've been keeping on track this week.
Well it's time for exams, so that makes it hard to work out! Plus working extra hours because it's Christmas.. I'm so tired by the end of the day, and it's so easy to just come home and snack myself to sleep. But I just need to tell myself that it's a stressbuster to go to the gym!! I'm hoping tomorrow the scale will be a little lighter. ![]()
I know we haven't been keeping up with this, but I just happened to look and tomorrow is our goal day!! How is everybody doing??
