short women (5'1-5'3), maintaining 100-110lbs

how did you get here? (how much did you eat/workout/use supplements)

how much do you eat/workout to maintain?

*please do not post if you are under 18... and please do not post unhealthy eating/excersize habits (ie: undereating, over excersizing, suffering from an ED) ... UNLESS you have recovered from an ED and are healthly maintaining, in that case please DO offer advice)

thanks in advance

hi, hmm, you do know that someone at 5'3 should not weigh 110 as that would be underweight?

hope that helps w perspective, good luck

maybe accordding to the CC BMI chart.. there are many different ones...

the one that I like to follow is the one that has the BMI of 19 for 5'1=100, 5'2=104,  5'3=109

since I'm more 5'2/5'3 I'd like to get my weight back to about 104-109lbs where I was 2 years ago pre-ED.. I was healthy and happy and looked best here, thin but still had shape

but I'm just so lost right now, I dont know how much to eat or what to eat anymore, it seems I just slowly gain regardless of what it is... I'm now up to 112-114lbs and desperate.

I see girls my height who maintain 104lbs on 1200cal, and I see girls maintain the same on 1800-2200cal... wha? where do I fit?

or am I sentenced to keep gaining until I'm 200lbs?

I just need to know what to do, I dont understand anymore... everything contradicts everything else... I thought maybe a few more examples of similar women would help me figure things out.

When I was 16, I wasn't that tall (I grew like 3.5 inches after high school and am now 5'7"+) and somewhere around 5'3" or 5'4" and ate approximately 2500+ calories per day. I also wasn't cognizant about what went into my body because it didn't seem to matter. However, I made a lifestyle decision not long after: going vegan. I was eating the same level of calories but in more wholesome foods and LOST weight (and I was already very thin). At 18, I was 5'4.5" and 103 lbs and eating the typical intake of a grown man (still 2,500 or even more). I guess the point is that I think QUALITY OF CALORIES DOES MATTER.

If you ate a truly clean, organic, unprocessed diet on 1600 calories, I seriously doubt you will gain weight. Have you tried switching around the content of your diet? Note that you will never (well, to be safe, I'll say rarely) see an obese vegan.

My dad is a nutrition specialist and works with patients everyday on these matters. He helps women lose 40 lbs or more just by changing WHAT they eat (HOW MUCH you eat also matters, but he tries to encourage the former mindset, because it is so much more sustainable an eating style).

i understand what you're going through..

I am 5'2 and 112 now and I have a very tiny bone structure and feel terrible at this weight. I don't know when I will stop gaining...what is the right amount of calories vs exercise? what is my body's set point? everyone is different as you noted in the original post. as much as this makes me absolutly miserable to say-we both have no idea what our bodies will decide to do from here :/ but i believe you've been maintaining at 112 for a while right? maybe try and build a bit of muscle mass to burn extra cals.  i am thinking about getting my rmr checked so i have a better guess what to do-but thats down the road as I am a bit broke...

if you can figure out how to make this terrible gaining stop please let me know too :)

Hey Lady!! You know my exercise routine - daily for almost 2 hours, elliptical trainer... some crunches, push ups & I am officially starting to lift weights (good for bone strength)... How are you doing these days?

i stretch 3-4 times a week, run for 20 min 3x a week, and do strength training on stretch days, im trying to get stronger so i cut running and upped strength training, I also eat 1700-1900 cal. depending on how active my day has been. I satrted eating more and counting cal. it feels like alot cause its mostly healthy, but if i want cake i eat it, just not every day!~erica

stats 5'2, 110lb. 19 yr. old

also i think that if you have to starve yourself to get to 110, then it is not ideal for you, don't stay 110 if it keeps you hugry, your growing so Not worrying to much about it would be better, your just going to stress yourself out. and who knows you might get taller!!~erica
