Hi!  I'm  hoping to start a shorties club, probably for women because mostly women are 4'11" - Idk maybe 5'4", it could vary a little i guess.  Does anyone want to join?  We shorty women (or I should say "petite") need to stick together, especially women who are older (because our metabolism sucks sometimes), but age could vary also, it doesn't matter.  Just wondering if there is already a thread for this, been searching but haven't found one yet.  Your starting weight could vary also, i'm not picky.  Women just have alot harder time dropping the weight (i.e. monthly cycles, moods, water weight, you know...) 

Me:  Just started this website on 5/30/07

Starting Weight was:  121lbs (stubborn pounds)

My Height is:  5'0"

My age is:  38

My activity level is:  Moderate (Light)

My Calorie Expenditure is:  (around 1700- it varies with exercise)

My goal weight is:  110!

My goal date is:  8/30/07

My current weight:  6/3/07 is:  119!

What else?  Oh and my daily calorie intake is between 1200-1400 (1600 on a bad day)

Anybody else want to join.  I would love support and fellow chat members, kay? thanks!

P.S. I know that it only seems like I have a little to lose, but BELIEVE ME, those are the most stubborn last pounds to go!

Hi Sara! Thanks for responding. Do you do a low impact aerobics tape or go to a class? If it's a tape can you recommend an *easy* one for me to start with. Cheers.

Starting Weight was:  134- went up to 136 before I started to lose anything

My activity level is: Depends- usually pretty low, but working on that 
Calorie Intake (Goal):  1200 most days, 1400 if I get a good workout in
My goal weight is:  115- but I think I'd be happy just to be at 120

hi jrmint427 welcome!  this is a great thread!  we really try to boost each other up when we need it. 

nycgirl~i don't have a tape/dvd i am currently using.  i used to use Pilates for Dummies, and just did the basic poses instead of the intermediate poses.  but that does take alot of stamina to build up to.  perhaps, try pilates and yoga first, because that is low impact, not necessarily cardio but it will help with endurance and muscle, and we all know muscle burns off fat!  right? 

for me, i'm not in the greatest shape, could use some improvement, it would seem to someone else, i am pretty fit, but i know better, i could do much better, so i do walk on the treadmill, use the elliptical (i can only do a few minutes at a time with that one, my legs feel  like LEAD!), but i also dance (ballet, ballroom and jazz, and tap).  do you go to the gym?  some gyms have low impact pilates and yoga or maybe a step class, just don't use the step right now, i used to go and leave early if it was too much.  nobody ever said anything or gave me a problem.  go at your own pace.

I have been eating around 1100-1300 calories each day since I joined (with the exception of June 30 which was hubby's birthday and we went out to eat, ended up with about 1900 that day!) I just want to be healthier, fit and toned. I don't really have a goal as far as time to lose the weight. I saw one other post about tall husband's. My husband is 6'3".

I need some motivation so I am joining this thread! Over the past year i have dropped over 20 pounds ( I moved from VT to CT, started graduate school, had my then boyfriend/now husband almost shipped back to Iraq, and gotten married) without any concrete diet or exercise plan. I started last spring at 145 and now am down to 121. I want to get down to 110 by my best friends wedding on September 1st, my first mini goal is 115. Because summer is upon us I haven't been as good as I usually am but this thread has given me new hope! So lets get this done!! I am going to shoot for an hour of exercise (elliptical/running/walking) five-6 days a week and weight training 3 days a week.

I've been watching caloriesand using the calorie count.com for a mo now and I'm really excitied about it. I just don't want to lose motavation. Everything is good at the start and it' nice to know we can support each other.
welcome all "newbies" to our "shorties thread".  Remember that old saying, "nice things come in small packages" or what was that other one.............oh yeah, "dynamite comes in small packages too!"

or how about, careful, TMI:  "small hands, small feet, small ..........."

you get the picture :)

you can state your stats on the weekends (to show your progress) and we will support you all we can :)! I mentioned the weekends to give everybody a chance to post, something that was on a regular basis, sort of like a check in.

Hi everyone. havn't posted here in a while!

Well im trying to maintain now, i bumped up my calories every 5 days or so by 200. (I was eating around 600-700 not so long ago but i bumped that up straight away to 1200.) Now im trying to eat 2000 ;O it seems like so much, but im actually enjoying being able to eat alot and i believe my appetite is returning! my sedentary is 1700, but ive been walking alot whilst shopping - getting ready for my holiday :) which is why im eating 2000. As for my holiday im going away for a month, so id love to maintain whilst there but i have a feeling ill gain. i'll be visiting family and going out alot so i know i wont be able to count calories and im assuming ill be eating alot of bad food, but ill try my best. im going in two weeks so i thought id try and maintain and then my body wont get so much of a shock when i start eating differntly whilst on holiday?..so hopefully i wont gain. THEEEN when i come back, i'm going to try and start losing weight again the correct healthy way :) im so glad to have found this website!

4'11 1/2 lol. I joined a little over a week ago starting at 150, eeek, and I'm excited to be down 2 after a week!  Slow but steady I guess...the only problem is...I know I could gain that back after one really good (I mean baaad) night! 

I'm just trying to keep motivated now. It's hard to see the numbers go down slowly and I'm not looking forward to a plateu...

Hi everybody!

Just thought I would take a minute and check in. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. It is going to be a hot one here in Pennsylvania. I have had a pretty good week staying on track with 1200-1300 calories a day, exercising and eating healthy (with the exception of lunch today, we had McDonalds food). I am proud of myself though, I ordered a small fry and a hamburger. Before I joined CC I would have inhaled a Big Mac and large fry. I think I should have ordered a salad though. Have you tried the Southwest Chicken salad? It is so good. Oh well I will have to watch for the rest of the day. My weight was 130 when I joined. Now it is 126. Progress, YAY!
I loove the bacon ranch salad at McDonalds, it's a good way to still eat "fast food" and stay on track....if only friends would eat a salad also so I would stop stealing fries.... :)

Is it too late to join the shorties BUT goodies club? lol  I started exercising and dieting on my own June 4,07 and have lost 9.5 lbs so far... I don't want to lose motivation so count me in if it's not too late to join.  :)

Height:   5 foot (5'2 when I tip-toe) lol

Age:   29  (act like I'm 10 jk)

Current Weight:  133.5

Goal Weight:  120 (for now)

what else can I add??? My current exercise partner (my golden retriever) walks 3 miles a day with me and she's been losing lbs like you wouldnt believe... she was REALLY over weight.  SOOO, when I'm having a bad day and feel like I can't  keep to the plan, she brings her leash.  She's my motivating 'fur-kid'  :)

Hi everyone! I just found this site today. I've been working out with a personal trainer and watching what I eat for 6 weeks now and have lost nothing. I think I haven't been eating enough...I think I've been around 1,000 calories a day. I feel like I'm eating so much though with all the fruits/veggies/whole grains. Anyway, here's my stats

Starting Weight was: 128 lbs

My Height is: 5'0"

My age is: 35 (36 next month)

My activity level is: Moderate (on weekdays) Sedentary (on weekends)

My Calorie Expenditure is: 1600 (sedentary), 2000 (moderate)

My goal weight is: somewhere between 105 and 110

My current weight: 6/3/07 is: 128

daily calorie intake: I'm aiming for 1,200 on weekends (no gym) and 1,300-1,400 on days I go to the gym.

The lowest I've been recently was 116 and that lasted about a week (I had lost diet motivation after a vacation). I'm getting a bit frustrated that I haven't lost any weight (or inches) with my new workout program. I do 30 minutes/day of weight training and 45 minutes of med-high intensity cardio. I do this 4-5 times a week.
hey kerri, are your clothes fitting any better?  if you're doing weight training you must have gained muscle and toned a bunch!

Nope, my close fit the same. I am noticing that I'm starting to get more toned though. I also feel stronger. I just don't see it yet. I'm sure I will soon though.

yep seems like a long way to go and at my age seems to take forever to lose a few pounds........

I work for home health care and am studying to be a nurse at my old age.....lol........so have a lot on my plate

Am married .......have four stepchildren that find me soo how can one say not lovable.....have a son of my own that gives his own hard time also.......so mixed family issues oh well did not marry for kids but trying our best to ride it out maybe in time things will improve currently dont see much progress and its been five years...........have beautiful grandkids.......just feeling so down about  weight thing.......

Seems like everyone here is doing so well congratulations on your successes feel in time i will be getting closer to my goal.....very hot here yesterday in south dakota.....barely could move....lol...

I am stagnated at 111-112 since the beginning of July. I lost 5lbs this month but only expect to lose 2 lbs this month b/c things are really getting more difficult to lose these days.
