the shorties but wanna be thinnies club!

Quote  |  Reply
Hi!  I'm  hoping to start a shorties club, probably for women because mostly women are 4'11" - Idk maybe 5'4", it could vary a little i guess.  Does anyone want to join?  We shorty women (or I should say "petite") need to stick together, especially women who are older (because our metabolism sucks sometimes), but age could vary also, it doesn't matter.  Just wondering if there is already a thread for this, been searching but haven't found one yet.  Your starting weight could vary also, i'm not picky.  Women just have alot harder time dropping the weight (i.e. monthly cycles, moods, water weight, you know...)

Me:  Just started this website on 5/30/07

Starting Weight was:  121lbs (stubborn pounds)

My Height is:  5'0"

My age is:  38

My activity level is:  Moderate (Light)

My Calorie Expenditure is:  (around 1700- it varies with exercise)

My goal weight is:  110!

My goal date is:  8/30/07

My current weight:  6/3/07 is:  119!

What else?  Oh and my daily calorie intake is between 1200-1400 (1600 on a bad day)

Anybody else want to join.  I would love support and fellow chat members, kay? thanks!

P.S. I know that it only seems like I have a little to lose, but BELIEVE ME, those are the most stubborn last pounds to go!

LittleSara, the only thing I learned from your measurements is that they probably aren't that accurate, in the space of 8 days you lost 2 inches from your bustline which is probably not true (unless your chest changs so dramatically with your cycle I guess?!). Also your upper thighs have a larger measurement than your hips? How is that possible??? I think maybe don't focus so much on the measurements, I doubt their accuracy/reproducibility.
LittleSara, I know how it feels to get discouraged at times. But if you are doing everything right and watching your calories, whatever caused the measurements to go up will go away. It may just be water retention. I heard that can bloat your body. It really wasn't that long between the measurements so I'm sure that's all it was.
I was loosing great and eating great and all of a sudden I gained some weight back. I just figured it was water (since I'm drinking so much of it and things would go back to what they should be soon. I can already see it heading back that way.
Hi everyone. I didn't get a chance to post this weekend so I am doing it now. I am staying on track. My weight is now 122, down 8 pounds so far. I have started drinking more green tea based on the things I've read. It is worth a try. I have days when I feel like giving up but I pinch the fat I have left and it brings me back to reality! What things do you do to keep motivated?
111.4 today, not so great as I was steadily in the 110s last week but that's ok. There will be bumps in the road. I look forward to reaching 110 by the end of July. And 105 by my birthday in October .... I tell you though, it's getting HARD!! Been dieting for so long now ....... I know it's a life change and all that but sometimes it's exhausting!

Down 1 more lb to 125.4 today. I started out at 128.

The thing that's frustrating me a bit is for years I had a scale, I was always under 124. Then it broke and I got another one and it read 128. So I've been going from that number, I just feel like I should be lower than 125. I'm going to have to try the gym scale and check the difference.
Wow I have had a frustrating week. I had a friend stay with me a couple days so we ate out a lot.  I tried to stay healthy with one splurge on pizza and popcorn, the other times I had wraps or sandwiches.  I drank water and didn't eat before bed.

But in 3 days I gained 3 pounds!!!  I thought it would take a week to do that considering the 3,500 calorie per pound idea.  I've already lost 2 of it again, but still I'm +1 for the week.  It sucks that I can't let myself go and just eat "normal" sometimes without taking steps back.  And now my mother is visiting for the week so this means more eating out...I'm gonna have to suck it up and order salads.  But even restuarant salads scare me!! Croutons and mystery salad dressings....eeek
Hey guys, I feel like joining since I think a need a lot of motivation.

Hi shorties ......... so after a crappy July I have turned the proverbial corner and I really feel thin now. I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED!

I feel great and really need to focus on my working out now ... need to tone up this flabby body. But boy oh boy it feels good to be thin again. *smiles from ear to ear*

nycgirl, you sound a lot like me. I'm 5'0", started out at 128 lbs and I'm 35 years old. It's good to know you got down to 109, my goal is somewhere around 110 and I wasn't sure I'd be able to get that low.

I'm losing REALLY slowly. I started 9 weeks ago (not too strict on the diet back then) but working out hard and I've lost almost 3 lbs so far. I wish I could lose faster.

Hey all, I'm a shorty too!!

Height: Just under 5'2"

Weight: 120

Age: 21 (almost 22, ugh)

Goal Weight: 110 but I'd take 115 or 113 (under 110 would be amazing)

Not sure how many calories I should eat a day...it used to be 1000...I think that's too low though, it's hard to survive on that
i am so in on this shorties club!!!

height: 5'2"

weight: 130

age: 21

goal: 115

i just realized i eat 2400 calories a day... wow... but i am losing weight by eating six times a day and i am taking lipo 6
Congratulations NYC girl. That is really great!!
Hello everyone,

I would like to give everyone an update. Joined CC June 28. Starting weight was 130. I am 5"0 and currently weigh 121. I have lost 9 pounds in a month. I have been keeping the calories pretty much at 1200 daily, occasionally I go over but no more than 1600 in a day. I have been exercising daily doing different things, mostly walking and lifting weights. I think I have hit a plateau because I have been at 121 for about a week now. I am thinking of zig zagging my calories. Has anyone tried this? nycgirl and kerri10, we seem to have similar goals. I would like to get to 115 maybe 110. I am older though at 43. I am open to suggestions.

Hey lcrum, what exactly does zigzagging calories mean? Does it mean you vary the number of calories you eat per day depending on how you are losing/not losing/gaining? Thanks!

lcrum, I wish I could lose the weight as fast as you did. After 9 weeks I kind of lost my motivation and drive to count calories. I was going to try just eating healthy, reasonable meals and 2 healthy snacks and see how that works.
I've read different things on zigzagging. One site said to eat the same total amount of calories in a week that you normally do but mix it up. Like if you eat 1200 a day instead of doing it like that you might eat 1000 one day, 1200 the next, and 1400 another. I don't think I can go below 1200 though, it is not healthy. I thought I might try to just add a couple hundred extra calories once or twice a week and see how that goes. It is so hard to know if I am truly at a plateau or just building muscle. I have been lifting weights. Losing weight can be confusing at times. I don't know how I lost the nine pounds quickly like that, I am doing the same things I am now. I think my body is truly used to this routine and I have to change it a little. Has anyone ever checked the calorie recommendations on other sites and gotten slighty different amounts? I guess it is just trial and error until you get the right amount of calories.
Thanks for the encouragment lofat!

kerri10, We do sound alike, so let's use that to our advantage and encourage each other :) I lost 20 lbs since February of this year by changing my diet entirely and logging every singly morsel on this website - even when I eat bad things or overeat. I weigh myself daily. Also, never fear, I am also losing slowly in comparison to some (average 3 lbs a month) but trust me it's a permanent change!

I zigzagged to break my 111-112 lb plateau which I was at from the beginning of July. Now I am 109 and feel thinner, going down. I also reduced my ridiculous 5liter water intake to a more reasonable 2L. For zig zagging I ate 1500-2000 on Fri, Sat, Sun and then 1200 for 4 days in a row on weekdays. IF you want more specifics I can send you my exact calorie intakes. Appears to have worked though I must admit it was accidental discovery.
Is it too late to join?
