Quote  |  Reply

Ok, just got my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD today....did the Level 1 workout and it kicked my butt! Worked harder in 20 minutes than I normally do in 45 mins at the gym, and am feeling some good burn in my abs, quads and butt....yay!! I think I'm gonna be sore tomorrow! I'm gonna keep with this program for the 30 days and see what happens.....

This workout is no joke...I did it yesterday morning and while I felt the burn/fatigue in my muscles I wasnt that impressed overall...

Then I woke up today and I feel it in places I didnt know I worked!

This wkout is the truth!

Okay -- this is going to sound stupid.  But what the hell.  Is this workout specifically for women or can guys do it too?  I've see 2 threads about it and only women have replied.

I did my first workout on Monday, haven't been able to do it again since due to the fact that I am so sore... and I was working out prior to starting this program.

One thing I wish she would have mentioned is the weight size to use. I think some exercises are better with say 3 lb weights while others could easily be done with 5 lb weights... I did the whole thing using 5.. not good.

I just got this in the mail today and I can't wait to try it tonight!

I've been looking for a good, hard work-out to shake up my routine.

Anyone can do it- men or women!

It is a series of 3 workouts, each progressively harder using hand weights for a combo of strength and cardio.

Jillian has you do 3 mins strength, 2 mins cardio, 1 min abs for 3 circuts.

Thanks, Nicole...  I was wondering because I am at a point where I like to challenge myself with something different every few weeks.  I may give it a try.

Oh man....I am so sore this morning!! I'm gonna try and do the workout again tonight, but maybe I should wait a day until I'm not so muscle sore.....I think if I tried a side squat right now, I might collapse, ha ha! I'm really impressed with this video!

Where do you get the video?

You can get it at Amazon.com, or any place like Targer or WalMart I am sure!

I got mine in the mail last night. Ordered from eBay.  Tried it this morning and loved it!!!  Level 1 wasn't incredibly hard for me, but calves were BURNING!!  I like that it's not a hip hop type video because for whatever reason I just can't do those unless I have a mirror to see myself in.  Otherwise I feel like I'm a jiggling fool and hope no one is watching me. LOL  :]!!!

My May goal is to do this everyday.  10 days on Level 1, 10 days on level 2, 10 days on level 3.  It felt awesome this morning!!  And 20 minutes goes by sooo fast!

Let's keep updating each other on our progress with this workout.  I can't wait until my husband comes home again in June and sees me totally smokin'!!!

wow! I just started this on april 30..im on my third day...I AM SORE!

I work out for almost 2 hours at the gym everyday ..on various cardio machines and NOTHING compares to the burn I felt with this in just 20 minutes. I guess less sometimes is more?!

So .like tracy, i'm going to do level 1 for 10 days, level 2 for 10 days and level 3 for 10 days, and see where i'm at when thats over. I cant imagine I wont be shredded ( unless I eat 5000 calories a day or something) yay for jillian!

I finally tried this last night. My delts are a bit sore, but I didn't find it to be too challenging--but then again, I often do jumping jacks and push-ups in my office to get out of the damn chair for a bit!--but it was a good work-out.

I'll be gone all weekend, but hopefully I can start doing it more consistently next week.

What does the cardio portion envolve? I live on the third floor and I don't think my downstairs neighbors would appreciate a lot of jumping around, so I was wondering......

Cardio included in Level 1 Jumping jacks, butt kicks, jump rope sans the rope.  So you shouldn't have any problem in my opinion living on the 3rd floor.  Plus they are short bursts of cardio, not a constant 20 minutes of it.

If you have "On Demand" on your cable, check it out.  My "Exercise TV" section has parts one and two for free this month.  I like to try the workouts before I go buy the DVD.  I am not fond of JM, so I don't know that I will enjoy the workout, but it is in my list to do tomorrow!

I tried some Tae-bo Amp today.  It was pretty good, but a little involved in the footwork for me to pick up on quickly.

iv been doing the video for 3 days now and its a great workout!  i feel like im about to die halfway through, but it keeps me motivated knowing that all the hard work will pay off, I have already lost 2 pounds!

I just got my dvd saturday and did it twice that day becuase I loved it sooooo much Then I did yesterday and today.  I love to feel sore and I am SORE!!!!!!  I could hardly go to the bathroome this morning!!! llololol  I am not really into JIlliam Michaels BUT I can over look it.  I am gooing to do 10 day for each level too.  SOO FUN!!!  How many calories does it burn on Level one?

Wow, I got this video myself.  Today was day 4 of the workout for me, and finally my legs are not quite so pissed off today!  I, like Zochia, had a hard time going to the bathroom.  It hurt so bad to squat, lol.  Sorry, hope I don't give anyone a visual.  Anyway, I wish someone who had done the full 30 days would find this forum line and talk about the results they got.  I have not lost 1 single pound, but I figure I am gaining muscle weight; however, I just started this calorie counting site today, so we shall see...  Cool

I have just got this today and tried it out so Day 1 for me! I used 2.5lb weights which are about enough for me although may get slightly heavier ones as I progress. I don't mind this being hard because I know it's all over in 20 minutes so will keep at it for 30 days. I just want some results!
It's definitely a good all over body workout.  When I first started doing it, every muscle in my body hurt.  I like how she adds bursts of cardio after strength training and there are no rests, so you are working constantly for 20 minutes.  Also there is no concentration on hitting numbers for reps, you go by time, so the better you get, the more you can do.

I don't know if anyone has Time Warner Cable, but it is on Exercise TV on demand.  You can check out all three levels, also Jackie Warner has a killer workout video with a similar style.  She broke hers out into three 20 minute segments:  Core, Upper & Lower Body workouts.  I do her core video every other day and it is really good.  She adds cardio bursts into her training that work the muscle group you just worked.  I reccommend it to anyone looking to really challenge themselves!!
