30 day shred reviews?

Quote  |  Reply

I remember seeing a thread about it here...

How many people completed 30 days of it?  Did you get good results?  Did you do only the dvd for exercise or did you do more?

so pretty much I had hit a plateau at 150 pounds even though I was eating healthy and going to the gym everyday. Decided to pick up the 30 day shred.. I am now on day 19... I still eat the same amount of calories and JUST do the shred everyday (yes cut out the gym) ..and I have broke my plateau and lost 4 pounds and 2 inches!!!!!!

Not only that ..the weight training part of the video has given me visible definition in my legs and arms.

I love it and I would highly recommend it!!

Let me warn you though ..even though its 20 minutes.. Its a tough work out!!!

I just bought the DVD over the weekend.  I HATE exercise and avoid it at all costs, but had to do something to kick my butt into shape!  I figured even I can do a 20 minute work out once a day for 30 days.

Monday was the first time I did the video and loseweight1234 is right..it is TOUGH!!!  My entire body has been KILLING me for 2 days, muscles I didn't know I had hurt.  I can barely do anything at work...and I sit at a desk all day.  But its pretty awesome...this workout did more for me in 20 minutes than any hour long workout I tried to do at the gym.

I didn't get to do it yesterday cuz my grandmother was in the hospital (Yup, I failed the workout on day 2..lol) so I am just going to start over...I'll be at level 1 for longer than 10 days anyway.  Hopefully I can manage to get my body to work enough to make it through...the pain does go away right?

Curious to know, what is the 30 day shred? I need a new workout with strength training!

Its a program from Jillian Michaels. Pretty effective I must admit. If you have digital cable from Time Warner or Comcast, its available On Demand. You can preview it on exercisetv.tv.

Thanks, I have TimeWarner, I'm going to check it out right now.

I did the 30 day shred a few months back. I did it every day; 7 days on level one; 13 days on level two and 10 days on level three. I was not working out regularly before, so it helped me get back into an exercise routine. I lost about 10 lbs (or just under) but I changed my eating habits as well. In addition to the physical difference, I love the feeling of strength that the videos give me!

Since then I have kept it as part of my workout on days when I am pressed for time and now incorporate running as well as her two other videos "Banish the Fat Boost the Metabolism" and "No More Trouble Zones". I've lost a further 10lbs since and still love the video; Jillian is awesome!

I love it.  I needed a kick in the ass, and was lured in by the 20 min aspect, and kept on track by the amazing results.  That was all I did -- 20 mins a day.  I took breaks (I travel on weekends so I'd take about 2-3 days off a week) but still lost about 7 lbs and my arms look soooo much better than they did.  I'm taking a break for a bit, going to the gym instead (and lifting heavyyyy) but will probably start up again soon.

and seriously.  20 minutes = ROUGH.  squat thrusts, walking push-ups, plank jacks and all the ab work REALLY get  your heart rate up.  I love it though and yes it's on demand, but the DVDs are only $15 for the whole set (saw them at walmart) and a set of weights usually between $15-20 (I started with 3#, moved up to 5#).  Definitely a great way to get in shape if you can't get to the gym! :)

I've been doing '30 Day Shred' 5-6 days a week since June combined with balanced diet and running.

Not sure how much is down to individual physiology, but I have seen noticeable changes to my obliques, upper arms and thighs.

It is a great work out and I love that there are 3 different work outs.

One thing I would say is don't just aim to get to Level 3.

There are parts of Level 1 that I still find challenging and parts of Level 3 that don't really feel enough...but generally I am always drenched in sweat and panting after Level 2 and 3!

So I mix levels up as they are ALL a really good workout.

Also, you can try using slightly heavier weights if you want more of a challenge.

There's lots of flexibility with 30 day shred and I love it!

No More Trouble Zones is also great but mainly strength and resistance, less cardio. Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism has more cardio.

I love 30DS and No More Trouble Zones. Couldn't get into the Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism one though. Not sure why. I mix and match Zones with 30DS. Sometimes do Zones and a 30DS level or just do a couple of 30DS levels or if I'm feeling particularly energetic all 3 levels of 30DS back to back. I used to feel like toast after doing one level so being able to do all three in one go shows me what improvements I've made along the way.

I use the DVDs in conjunction with my running program and of course watching what I eat.
