I DID IT!!! I got shredded by Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred DVD:

Here are the stats: I am 5'3 in height.

Weight: 181.4-177.4 (as of last Sunday 9/20/09 when I weight in)= 4 Lbs Lost

Neck: 15.5-14.75 = 0.75 inch lost (I had not clue you could lose from here).

Breast: 42-42 = 0 lost (Thank God!).

Arms: 12.5-13.25 = 0.75 inch gained (You should see the biceps, less dangling!).

Waist: 39-38 = 1 inch lost (Yeap, that is hot!).

Hips: 47.5-46.5 = 1 inch lost (My oh my, that is not easy, I am amazed!).

Upper Thigh: 28.5-27.25 = 1.25 inches lost (Less dimples at the back!).

Calf: 15.5-16 = 0.50 inch gained (All that jumping, and I run as well).

Now, I know it doesn't look like much, but my body is totally different. It feels like my body got reconfigured. My weight loss has been constant, so I figure that my weight loss wasn't so drastic because I was actually building more muscle tone. It is more shapely. Too bad I didn't take a before picture. Actually, I lost an inch of my hips and waist, and more than an inch of my thigh! Yoohoo, that is some serious inches shredded! And I didn't have to starve myself, jut ate clean and listened to my hunger signs.

I am so psyched as how my body looks, but even more about how I feel: I can conquer the world. I want more. I want a new challenge. I want to keep going and never give up. That is worth a lot in my book!

A toast (of water) to weight loss the proper way, the healthy way!  Cool Cool Cool

Wow that's great! I also started doing the 30 Day Shred video back in May/June and got great results.  I didn't measure beforehand, and I think weight-wise I only lost about 4 pounds.  But I know for a fact I gained muscle and people tell me I look leaner.  I've tried exercising many many times and always give up, but after trying that video I had a lot of confidence in myself.  Anyway, congrats!!

Congrats!

I have that video and never followed through with it.
I'm planning on starting it up again tomorrow actually.

Did you do 10 days of level 1, 10 days of level 2, and 10 days of level 3? Or did you mix it up? Did you take any rest days? I'm not quite sure how to go about it.

WoW! I am very impressed with your results! I have never even thought..."Hmmm, I need to buy that DVD"....but after reading your post I feel like I have just watched a compelling info-mercial and I feel like "I need that!" Way to go!!

I always worry I will get bored with DVD's....Is this one better?

I also have the 30 day shred video but have not followed thorough! The first day I tried it I could barely walk for a week afterwards so I gave my muscles some time to rest. A lot of time! I need to restart theprogram because It is a great workout. Anything that can make me hurt and sweat like that is bound to give me the results I need!

ACK I knew I forgot something when I replied to our other thread! CONGRATS Karmin!!!! That's amazing!!! I too am not sure I could follow thru with doing that EVERY day! That's awesome!! CELEBRATE!!! Have some cake! HAHAH JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!! Laughing

do you need a lot of equipment for this program?

btw - great job karmin! thanks for sharing your success story

Thank you everyone. It feels great to stick to something and get results.

arielgirl, that is what I feel like, that I can continue and are ready for the next weight loss challenge!

jblarghp, I did it continuously nonstop; absolutely no rest. I know they say that you should have rest day after strength training, but for this minimal time, I didn't think it necessary and I was right. I did each level for 10 days. The beginning of each level is extremely hard (you will be crawling on the floor), but as you continue it does get easier, and by day 7-9 of each you want to move on to the next.

team_malone, I get bore easily too and this is the reason why I love thi dvd is so short and you are so focus on getting good form and getting the 20 min over with that it just makes it hard to get bored.

jayz_gal2004, oh I know, you do sweat every time you workout and you will be loving your floor with this dvd, because you will be spending a lot of time crawling because you can't walk!

Hey biznme! Thanks, it was awsome. A managable challenge, but it is hard on the joints so you have to tweak how you do each exercise.

runyourlife, the only equipment you need is 3 lbs weights and a mat. Oh, you should get a small towel as well for all the sweat.

Cheers!

I have this workout for free on comcast's on demand. Unfortunately, I need a sports bra to even attempt it. Too bouncy. =D

Very much congrats on your progress though! the workout looks hard and to do it for 30 days straight, it takes alot of determination.

Lol, I have that same problem...I just wear two sports bras.
