I was so happy two years ago when I finally graduated to a C cup bra. At the time I didn't realize that I was slowly gaining weight too. I've spent the last year cutting calories and happily losing pants sizes. But I recently I found that my bra's weren't fitting quite as well. I dug up an ancient (last of the line) B cup bra I had in the bottom of my underwear drawer and tried it on. I was horrified when it fit.
I know it's superficial, but it's a pretty big blow to my ego. I know C cup breasts aren't something to brag about, but in my mind they were better than B's. I'm half inclined to quit the diet all together because something in the back of my mind keeps magging that if I continue they will continue to shrink. Ug, why does something that should be so great and so healthy have to have such a negative consequence? I've already given up several foods I love. Now I have to give up my breasts too? Not fair.
Anyway, enough self pity, I know outside of falsies, implants or gaining the weight back (none of which I want to do) there's no way to get my bust back. What I really need to know is if there is anyway to avoid future shrinkage other than to stop losing weight. Should I avoid exercises that involve chest muscles? Should I consume more calories so the weight lose is more gradual? Should I just get over myself and just accept it?

In fact, working out your pectorals will give you the illusion of a bigger bust!
I dropped from a D size to a B size when I lost 30lbs. I'm fine with it, bigger girls are blessed with bigger breasts... if you want to be thin, there are sacrifices to make..

I have to say...I got up to a DD when I gained weight- it was uncomfortable. I started losing weight, quickly dropped back down to a D, which is where I had been all through college ...I am already down to a C now! In high school, I had been a B, and as much as I liked my D cups, I think, would I rather be healthy and have small breasts, or sacrifice my health and the rest of my figure to have bigger boobs? I'm going to love and appreciate my smaller cup size because it relaly means that I am becoming a much healthier person than I was. Although it would be great to have a D and be a size 4, it is never going to happen for me and I have accepted that.
Maybe y'all can help me out with a similar question. Weight gain took me from a small C to a large D, and now I'm back down to a smallish D. I'm not worried about the change in size; smaller breasts look better on my figure anyway... but what's the saggage factor? I'm worried about getting all floppy! Does this happen?
Mine are down from a 40D to a 34B/C. They look like empty socks! I'm not down on it, just great not to carry the weight, and enjoying my new found shape. Though it does go to show my assets were nothing but flab!
elttiks .x.

Well being boobs are mostly fat .....I can't wait for mine to shrink back a bit, I used to be a 34 B.... I was more comferatable....I have a min. of 23 ponds to lose, am 1 point off from being diabetic officialy, I feel a choice for me that is of big boobs vs. healthier.... easy to decide, and no my husband is not going to miss size....
try padded bras, some ofthe new ones look very good....

I know that it seems like our society is focused on big breasts, but I know a lot of men out there that like perky small ones...
Mine have not gotten saggy or anything at all- and I have dropped 2 full cup sizes. They feel the same as they always have. Like ravenlark said though, (kind of), chest exercise can help with this- exercise those pectoral muscles if you're worried about appearance- you'll get more perky.
*sigh*
Saddly I'm in the "Empty Socks" boat.

i've always had small boobs...so they can't get much smaller :) but i just remind myself that they'll always be perky. and i second the chest exercises--whenever i do them, my boobs look better that day! :)
Heh, I'm an E cup. Lost 2 stone, put half a stone back on and I've lost not a thing off my boobs. I've lost weight from my back, not my boobs.
Genetics =)
I would like a C cup though.
Your boobs ARE fat. So y'know, if you're not genetically graced with big boobs then there's not really anything you can do about it apart from plastic surgery and putting weight on.

I've never had large breasts, but sometimes in pictures they look pretty big. It's all in the bra ladies! There are some fantastic push-up bras out there!
Yep, flyes, push-ups, bench press...all those things will help your pecs, which will in turn boost up or at least tighten up your chest area.
Also, my boyfriend has many guy friends, all of whom say they like smaller breasts on a girl, or at least proportional ones. So just remind yourself that as you get smaller, all of your body will get smaller to maintain it's proper proportion :)

I have recently lost 15lbs and not an ounce of it off the boobs.
My friends are all telling me I am a shoe-in for a job at hooters! Haha.

haha! its funny that you guys are worried about shrinkage! i really thought nothing of it when i was losing weight, since I only had an a cup when i weighed 230. but as i've lost weight, i cant find a stinking bra that fits me ANYWHERE. the a's? Don't fit. The double a's? Still to much of a cup. The 'almost a' cup doesnt even fit me. :( I couldn't be flatter if i had two dents in my chest! lol
jazzisove...you've got the right idea! work them pec muscles girls,
push ups, incline pec flyers and bench pec press...2 to 3 times a week.
i have very little upper body strength and hurt my knees last spring so
i couldn't do any lower body work till the fall! long rehab..
anyway, this small busted 43 yr old woman finally has cleavage!!! muscle cleavage! worked had...noticed it after 6 months of alot of work. and ALL the men i've ever dated like my small busted way of being. i was a 32 a until 2 years ago. went up to a 34 a only because of the back muscles but other than that. i love the definition the pec workout give me.
your bust might be shrinking because it's the fat you're losing, not breast tissue (breast tissue is not FAT like someone else said) which isn't affected by exercise according the mammogram radiologist when i went for my last mammogram in the fall. so keep building your upper body...don't give up. make the men in your life jealous of what they don't have!

I love women with small breats - B cups are perfect.
Don't fight the shrinkage :-)

also, small breasts are nice 'cause when we're old we won't sag (as much anyway ;))!
I'm fine with losing breast sizes. In fact, I wish I'd lose more. I've never liked the way my breasts just look big and saggy (not due to age-- they've been like that as long as I've had them), so I'm hoping if they get small enough maybe they'll stop looking quite so icky.

Crap! This is exactly what I hope to avoid. I fear I am doomed.
And I always had such nice breasts... *sob*

I want my small perky boobs back!!!
