Sick

Quote  |  Reply

I've been sick for the past couple of days. As a result, today is the second day in a row I haven't gone to the gym. I feel really lazy. My boyfriend and my sister both tell me it's best if I don't exert myself too much. What do you think? Should I suck it up and go tomorrow? Or should I wait 'til I'm better?

I would just wait until you get better. I know that when I get sick, I don't feel like doing anything! Waiting a bit will allow your body to rest and repair itself faster. Plus it gives you a small break, which we all need once in a while. I hope you feel better soon Laughing

I'd try to do something really light, like a slow, relaxing walk. Exercise (mild exercise!) may actually make you feel better. It works for me!

I would wait, your body is weak because it is trying recover from your sickness. Make sure your body is ready to exercise before exercising.

yeah, walking is the best thing you could do.  It will get your circulation going and help move things along.  It could boost your mood, which is good for the immune system.

It's a good bridge between feeling sick, recovering and then feeling better.  You don't want to go from no activity to a heavy workout in one shot.
